Reviews of Saint Peters Square
This place has a good balance of stores. There's a Pie shop with amazing slushy drinks at the entrance. A picknpay at the bottom with smaller stores around. Upstairs, there's a Korea market and a spur on the opposite side.
There are always security guards available, and the atmosphere is mostly friendly.
It's just the toilets that are lacking in quality.
But other than that, this is an awesome place with a lot variety
I've been going to Saint Peters Square for years because I just live up the road and me and the manger get on very well when we see each other
I enjoyed shopping here without worrying about security
Very convenient easy shopping
It's good.
Pic n pay needs an upgrade but mochachos is nice and fnb and standard bank
This is my favourite place pick n pay always fresh and cashier's will greet you with a happy smile 😌
First time here and it's very quaint. Great parking. Everything you need in one place.
This is a small mall but it has been a lifesaver for me so many times, whether doing my shopping before driving home to the northern suburbs or getting my hot chocolate and fried chicken for lunch while waiting on my kids.
The staff is super friendly and always ready to help.
As it is so small, it does get very cramped and queues can get really long at the deli. But people will wait on those queue to subside as the food is delicious and relatively cheap.
There are a few shops in the mall that I also used a lot like Pna, postnet King Pie and the ATMs. Parking is a bit of a nightmare as it is never enough.
There are only a few parking pays in their underground parking and most of it is reserved. But there are underground toilets which had come in handy 👌
Excellent service with a smile at pnp with fresh quality hot foods
This is a no frills shopping centre with a fair range of shops for your needs. The only commonly-needed category missing, I think, is a sports specialty shop, but you can get:
Phone repairs
Groceries and household items
Second hand goods
Perfumes
Dental and medical assistance
Pharmacy
Chain restaurants
Art and stationery supplies...
I'm probably leaving some stuff out. I've noted other reviewers make significant complaints about parking, but this is my local centre and I've never experienced any difficulties. I have also never struggled to find a spot.
When I say "no-frills" I mean it - there isn't any fanciness in decor or lighting and it's really an in and out deal, but it's super convenient and targeted at a mid to low price point. If you're not driving, it's also close to taxi routes.
Conveniently close to the Korea Market and a few other Obs shops but, based on some people's experiences, maybe you don't want to leave your car there while you make the journey.
Nice little shopping complex. You will need to pay R2.00 to gain access to the bathrooms 😀. Parking can be a problem during busy periods. But overall it's not a bad place to do mini groceries.
Just popped in to Spur for some coffee which was good and a Nachos which was really good. Spur staff great! Other than that, wouldn't really go to this centre as it doesn't have an atmosphere which would tell me to frequent the place.
An enjoyable shopping location with quite a variety of shops, even an art store now.
It has the largest Pick n Pay in the vicinity of Woodstock/Salt River/Obs. Therefor it gets quite busy, especially during month end. You can get all your shopping done here though, and there is a Spur if you get hungry.
Visited the dentist in the square, was my 1st visit and I actually hate going to a dentist. The ladies on Sat morning were lovely put you at ease and made the experience a good one. Will definitely be going back.
I live in the Athlone ares and often pop into St Peter's Square at night for my mid-month or emergency shopping.
The first thing I like about the place is that it feels safe. I'm not sure what it is but maybe it's just the size of St. Peter's Square. Its not too big or too small but to my mind, just right.
One thing I dont like is the position of the ATMs on the outside stoep off to the left of the main entrance. Not only is it out of sight of the security at the main door, but another security risk is a staircase which comes up from the underground parking and exits to the left and behind a person busy using the ATMs. Someone could hide there and pounce on unsuspecting patrons. Its never happened to me but it made me feel nervous. Jusy saying.
Moving along. I mostly come to shop at PicknPay which is always a joy. The shop is not huge but its cozy and I like it. What I especially like is the bakery. I dont know where to start but lets just say its awesome.
Also the deli section is really good. It seems like the meals they package is just what a hungry student who is not into cooking needs to survive. I've bought a number of their meals which I think is value for money. Sometimes I could even throw together a really decent Sunday afternoon lunch for under R100.00 including dessert and something for an afternoon tea.
The other place I like to visit in St Peter's Square is the Spur, upstairs. My favorite seat is the window seat that gives one a really great view across the Cape Flats over Mowbray, Rondebosch, Sybrandt Park, Athlone etc. Its spectacular at night. I thing that the Spur should capitalize on that view because there is no other restaurant around with a view like that. Large glass windows commanding the eastern side of the establishment would totally increase the customer turnout.
These days, after being locked up, cooped up and generally messed up, I dont just want to pay for my food. I want a view as well. It's a no-brainer.
Anyway, I digress. Finally, another shop I like to visit just to browse around, is Cash Crusaders at the north end of the shopping Centre. There's nothing special about it except that the community around the shop determines the content of that shop. Something to think about.
Well, thats it from me for St. Peter's Square.
Ps.
I think i should develop a scoring system for these boutique shopping centres. Just thinking.
I have only been here to go to PnP. It's always busy in PnP but queues move quickly. Parking on the ground floor can be a bit of a problem but there is underground parking too.
Very convenient stores. Mainly students does shopping here Spur, Pick n pay are in the same building. KFC and McDonald's are right opposite if you feel like fast food
Very nice place to get some shopping done. It's a little bit on the dirty side. But it has mostly everything you need. From a grocery store to restaurants and stationery.
It's just convenient for me, handy to have a chemist, PNA and tiny clothes shop to pop into when I go to the PnP. PnP isn't the nicest one around, old type, really could do with a face-lift.
Needs bigger and more parking spaces No parking for large vehicles or physically disabled with a wheelchair.
Loving the location .great pick and pay and spur . Free parking with reputable car wash below .a little bit congested during peak times but still a great place to shop with all its smaller shops and eating places 💟💟💟
Nice place with a big parking lot also people that looks after your car,. There are many shops there where you can buy aost anything, the shops are affordable.
You can repair your broken devices there as well. Or go for a Gatsby at zebros, where they have this awesome source that is mouth melting.
If you are worried about a place to park your car this is the safest place around.
I don't know what's up with this Pick n Pay but their stuff are super cheap at times and they always running great deals and variety of foods.
Small shopping mall with a busy Pick n Pay. Service is average and there is parking space. There is also a few places to grab a bite, spur upstairs is not too bad.
Easiest place to shop in Observatory. Lots of parking including underground by the car wash. Pick n Pay opens early and closes late (9pm). Not the hugest selection but more than enough. There are many different ATMs, a computer store, a cobbler, post office, two restaurants, 2 postal services, a dentist, a CNA, bottle store, second hand store, optometrist and a few small clothing places amongst others.
This Shopping Centre has a lot of most conveniences, such as Pick n Pay supermarket, Pharmacy, Liquor store, post office, free parkings, fast food restaurants, include MCDONALD and KFC just in the surrounding, university residence around, and one of the reputable hospital GROOTE SCHUUR in the back yard...
A cool shopping centre where you can get all your shopping and errands done. The car park and supermarket tend to get packed at times so choose what time you come shopping so that you don't waste time looking for parking and trying to check out.
It's a small mall for the lunch time traffic and students from the Cape Town University campus and Groote Schuur Hospital. Everything that you need for your pleasure to shop.
Very nice vibe always busy and pick n pay always have nice specials and shops around there nice the main attraction is pick n pay though oh and spur but have other eateries there as well.Enjoy going there.
Fairly small, but convenient. Pick and Pay is quite good for lunch time meals at good prices
Everything guys was perfect fresh fruits and we were helped by a lady called jojo we promised ourselves to use the same pick and pay thanks guys for your work
A very convenient place to shop at, clean and safe. I've been in most shoots and I've had nothing but good service from each shop
Very small but it does has the necessary shops that caters for the immediate community.
This place is in a great location the extended business hours is what sets it apart the Pick & Pay store opens after 7am and closes at 9pm
Lovely place to dine and do quick shopping
Very small shopping center, the center is clean but the Pick n pay isn't so clean. First Pick n pay I felt uncomfortable in.
The pick n pay is good, spur is awesome and serves Halaal, there are a few other shops like CNA but there is no entertainment center
Quick easy stop especially for students, hospitals staff and surrounding people . You can get your essentials there
Free parking. Convenient. Supermarkets, Fast-food, (lots of food here), liquor store and a few other nifty little stores for your perusal.
On the main rd easy access there is pick and pay for your basic and McDonald's drive thru ohhh yea also kfc drive thru (24 hrs)
Small convenient Pick n Pay to get groceries. The centre offers 2 halal restaurants Spur and Lady B.
The place is so lively with hundreds of shops providing wonderful services. I sometimes go there just to be at peace and get worked on when I feel depressed.
I think the biggest problem that I find is the parking but other than that it is fine to do your quick shopping at pnp or other shops in the mall.
Friendly staff and Pick n Pay , open @ 07:00 and close @ 22:00 plus there's a halaal Spur and right next to Groote Schuur Hospital
Convenient central quick dash in shopping at PicknPay or nice eating places good variety of quality food for every palate
A bit small but conveniently located opposite the Korean market shop. PnP, small shops, ATMs, post office, dentist and a GP's office.
Has a Pick and Pay and a Spur Steak Ranch. There's a "Lady B" restaurant as well. Situated next to Grootte Schuur hospital
Cool place with Friendly UCT student's, few shops no banks or clothing shop. But very busy. I like pnp
PNP Kiosk Chicken Platters and roast veg ordered was delivered on time and enjoyed by all
Brilliant pick n pay store. Plenty of groceries fir size of store. Very good bakery.
Its a small shopping centre but essential shops .... lovely hairsalon....delicious halaal take away......picnpay ....spur....post office....etc
A busy little mall with ample free parking.
It's a great shopping complex, it's super safe and security is tight, it has almost everything in it.
It's okay. Has got basic shopping retailers( pnp, pnp liquor, small clothing stores) and restaurants (spur, ladybee, king pie)
Love going grocery shopping here staff is friendly managers are always willing too assist
Good place often crowded... but understand as it serves UCT and CPUT students
That's my shopping square everything I need under one roof, from shopping to eatery and to cheers 🥂

Usually visit Pick n Pay, more suited for picking up odds and ends, than monthend shopping.
If you need groceries, a post office or a friendly pharmacy in the Obs/Mowbray area, this is the place to be. This is an overall center, especially for necessities
Great center, has most stuff that you need with the pnp and other smaller shops.
It's safe and has all basic goods and services
It's a nice place to get the basics. Especially with pnp there.
Busy. It seems to be mainly for students as it's close to university campuses. Too busy for a Tuesday morning.
All you need for a quick grocery shopping.
Well organized shopping center! Fair prices!
