Reviews of The Wok Bar Palmyra Junction
First time going there I was not not impressed by the customer service.
The place itself is quite small maximum 15 people to be as comfortable as possible
The food is really wonderful and I would recommend the Chicken Bao if you just want a quick snack
Great tasting fresh food cooked in front of you! Amazing Asian flavors, we loved the Korean pulled beef bao, bang bang shrimps and the noodles.
I've only ever had the bao buns and the spring rolls but they're amazing. This is one of my go-to places. I've tried all of the bao options and I honestly can't fault them in any way. The mushroom bao is absolutely delicious but my favourite is probably the beef ribs bao. The store itself is really small so I always order takeout. There have been times when they've run out of ingredients so certain menu items weren't available. The turnaround time for takeout is also quite slow but in my opinion the food is worth the wait.
We have be frequenting The Wok Bar since it opened. We have always received the best quality food and service. The most flavorsome dishes and friendliest faces, aunty Tasneem always making sure we are happy and comfortable.
Exceptional place, one of a kind.
Ordered the Mongolian Beef and Bao Buns. Both were fantastic and the portion sizes were just enough. It's not too little and not too much.
We ordered during Stage 4 loadshedding so we worked up an appetite. The restaurant was busy and I could tell the staff was stressed from the influx of orders as the lights turned on. However, they handled themselves well.
I will definitely be returning and recommending their store.
R200 per person including tip for 4 people. Portions are small, not enough chicken. Service was initially non-existant waited more than 5 minutes for the waitress. No other people in the restaurant
Excellent food and excellent service from the waiters.
Just a shame that the head chef (I think?) treated the staff so badly. Banged tables to get their attention, made snarky comments at them like “wake up!”
I got a takeaway fortunately but I wouldn’t have been able to sit there and listen to that.
It makes it difficult to decide whether to come back, because I don’t support that behaviour. But I don’t think it’s fair that the whole business has to suffer because of someone’s behaviour.
The sticky rib boa buns are delicious. The place is a little small so there will probably be a wait to dine in.
The food is very tasty, but they don't serve sushi even though it's on the menu.
Just remember The Wok is, literally, "fully Halaal" and no alcohol is allowed on the premises, so no wine with dinner.
What amazing food ….we tried everything and this is the best Asian food money can buy….you have to try there food you will be highly impressed…..keep it up guys best experience
