I visited Grand Pavilion restaurant on a Thursday evening without a reservation. The restaurant was about 20% full. Our waiter seemed clueless at times and wasn't very helpful with the menu. They have about 2 vegetarian mains options, so I chose the vegetarian gnocchi. It was well plated and tasted very good—my date even commended it. The atmosphere is great, overlooking the promenade with an ocean view at sunset. The cocktails were excellent as well. I will definitely return in the future.

Wow!!! After a previously awful experience, management went out of their way to rectify this. I ordered the same menu as previous and gosh were we blown away by the texture the taste and the fusion of flavours which radiated from our palettes. Our adventure two weeks ago saw us sending less than half full plates of meals back to the kitchen this time round we demolished every morsel. The glowing reviews this restaurant receives is a testament to how Incredible the dishes served actually are, the atmosphere adds to the ambience, the staff no matter how busy they are carry themselves with the most infectious smiles and hospitality. Thank you for a beautiful evening! If ever an establishment has redeemed themselves it is this one. Absolutely gorgeous and we thank you for hosting us.

Ah! Phenomenal! That's the only word I could use to describe the experience and food I had here. Our waiter was brilliant and the food was even better, it did take abit long to see our waiter in-between ordering and things but it was pretty busy so I don't hold that against them. Absolutely 5 stars, more if I could.

I enjoyed dinner here one evening and I had such a great time. The views as the sun set were amazing, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole baby chicken and dessert (the dark chocolate fondant). The only complaints I had was that my side of chips took a while and I don’t eat fish so I felt like there were limited options on the menu for people like me, aside from that it’s a really great restaurant.

We ordered the set Winter menu and it had a mass produced feel to it. The calamari was rubbery and the steak although tasty was on the small side. The sushi also lacked freshness. The ambiance was however great and service by our waiter great.

The absolute best seafood pasta I’ve had hands down! The oysters were also delicious but not the best Cape Town has to offer. It’s quite a popular restaurant so reservations are essential especially on weekends. The ambiance is lovely, great for those dinners when you’d like to dress up a bit. Good wine selection. Parking is extremely limited so you’re better off taking an Uber to avoid disappointment and distress. The bathroom is on the other side of the restaurant, a bit of a walk but I didn’t mind it because the other half of the restaurant was like an escape to a jazzy/burlesque type of place, but not very convenient when you’re wearing your “sit down heels”. The service is a bit lacklustre, the waiters definitely size you up with regards to how much you look like you’re going to spend and you can definitely see that those customers dressed in luxury branded clothing do get slightly better service. If you’re on a girls trip and this is your splurge night, budget about R500-R700 pp for a main, drinks and tip, but serving sizes for the mains are quite large so you won’t need to stop at a kfc afterwards. Otherwise the food really does carry the entire place regardless of the service, so make sure you put on your Gucci slides and you can expect a perfect dining experience!

Wowed!!! I had such an amazing time here!!! From the amazing food, to great service and just overall amazing and friendly staff!! They had this really nice winter special for 2 or 3 Course meals😍😍. Definitely wanna come back again in Summer. I arrived around 1 pm and left around 7pm that’s how much of a good time I had😂♥️. I would 100% recommend the Grand Pavilion 🔥

Say hello to my new favourite beachfront restaurant in Cape Town! I loved everything about this place. We were greeted by smiling faces and exceptional service. The food and cocktails were phenomenal. They have a day dining area in the front of the restaurant where you can bask in the sunlight and at the back of the restaurant is a more relaxed evening dining area. The service was quick and staff were super responsive to us. There’s no doubt why this place is always buzzing with activity!

Such a spectacular establishment detailing beautiful aesthetics, framed by stunning views of the sea with gorgeous sunsets and most of all delectable food! The service is top notch and the host Sydney ensured we had an fantastic time! Only regret is that we had such few hours to spare, but we will certainly be back.

Food was very tasty and portions were big. We shared some sushi as a starter and I had a seafood pasta after. The restaurant has two sides that each have their own design and atmosphere. Make sure to ask for a table near the window on the boulevard side, other tables are not as nice. If you prefer a more romantic ambiance ask to sit in the area with dimmed lights and darker furniture.

The restaurant is priced above average. I ordered tuna for R370 and a bottle of white wine R500 but it was very nicely served and deliciously cooked. met the sunset here and enjoyed the views 🥰 top-level staff service 👍🏼

Grand Pavilion is severely understaffed. I've been there twice and although the food and drinks are fantastic, they don't have enough waiters, chefs and barristas to cater for everyone that they allow in. Be sure to order your drinks at least 20-30 minutes before you want them, and an hour before hand for the food. The seating is very tight and thus can get quite loud. The view can be quite nice, but not all that spectacular compared to other restaurants in Sea Point. As for the food, the Prawn Linguini and the Seafood Linguini are both exquisite. I had the berry spritz mocktail and it was amazing. I have no doubt that if the Grand Pavilion was properly staffed (at least double who they currently employ, at least for during the weekend) that they would be an amazing restaurant with unmatched experience. Unfortunately until then they'll an experience ruined by long wait time, tight seating and loud noise.

First time to visit this Restaurant,as we always drove past.. Here are the good and bad points: Good points: 1.Good food overall 2.Great location Bad points: 1.Poke bowl had no pineapple in,as stated on the menu 2.Waiter brought starter calamari ahead of poke bowl,as both dishes should have been served together,as that is all we ordered.Finished my calamari,before my partners pokebowl arrived. 3.Waiters uniform was not clean. 4.Ask for water with ice with no lemon,brought the wrong order. 5.Menu items are overpriced and not value for money!

I decided to drop in for some oysters and sparkling wine, as one does of an afternoon. I waited far too long for the Pongraz Rose. Eventually my oysters arrived after a long wait but still no wine. Then the wine arrived but I was expected to eat the oysters with an enormous fork. How absolute dreadful. The excuse was no stock. Actually forks are not really part of trading stock. Then I ordered double espresso with pouring cream. The waiter asked, as a special favour, would I like sugar? The table adjacent found this absolutely hilarious !!Surely one brings sugar with coffee as a general rule. I found this most extraordinary. The oysters were delicious and the views were awesome. But please get organized and train your waiters. I should add the maitre d was professional.

One of my favourite restaurants in Cape Town for sure! 🤩 I’ve been coming to Grand Pavilion for years and the quality of food, drinks, and service never disappoints me! From date nights to brunch with the girls, the vibe and atmosphere suits it all. My favourite thing to order is the seafood pasta 🥺 Usually I don’t enjoy seafood pasta but the one Grand Pavilion makes is literally the best thing I’ve had. The staff is so friendly and its always so lovely to chat with them. Parking is always a struggle in Beach Road but the stress of finding a parking spot is worth it if you’re heading to Grand Pavilion, I promise 🤞 Anyway, let me book myself a solo lunch here for today 🤍

Originally sat in the front restaurant to take in the sunset view before ordering, but it then got cold quickly and moved to the back. It's like 2 different restaurants... totally different atmosphere. Its like going back in time. They had live music too. Our host was fantastic and delivered 110% service. Food was perfectly prepared and presented. There were 6 of us and we pretty much all had different dishes. My steak was mouth watering delicious and melted in your mouth. Even the manager checked in on us and asked if we're all ok. I loved everything about that place - Food, Ambiance, Service. I will definitely return again.

The manageress/hostess told us as we had our meals brought to us that the service and kitchen will close shortly for dinner and rushed us with food and drinks. Distasteful. Overall the venue is top class, ingredients are fresh. From squid and steak to mouth watering chilli dishes we had such great meals here. Atmosphere is lovely and great. The “Grand Pavilion” in Camps Bay impresses with its fantastic location and stylish atmosphere - a truly beautiful location right by the sea. The drinks were excellent, well mixed and full-bodied in taste. The food was fresh, creative and a real highlight not only in terms of taste but also visually. We were particularly impressed by the mussels – they were wonderfully fresh and aromatic. The service was equally friendly and attentive, which rounded off the entire evening perfectly. We had a lot of fun and an all around great time. The Grand Pavilion is highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy excellent food, good drinks and great service in beautiful surroundings in Camps Bay!

The food was plentiful, hot and tasty. Many of the service staff were partly occupied with themselves and with some sort of discussion. Unfortunately, our waiter was unfocused and presented the dishes on the special table by constantly looking over his shoulder. I think he wasn't well educated.
