Reviews of Bombay Brasserie
This place is the best indian restaurant I've ever been to. Service is exceptional and the food is perfect! The chef itself came to check if we enjoy the food. This is a whole experience. The prices are very reasonable, cocktails are cheap and great.
One of the best culinary experiences we've ever had. Exactly what we was hoping to find in Cape Town after reading about it. The food really made an impression, with flavors we hadn't even sensed before. The place is so elegant as well and the servers are excellent. Both wine and cocktails were on point as well. Try the curry mojito if you dare.
Tried the tasting menu. It was good except for the fish and daal. Lassi was also so so. I wish it had more Indian inspired decoration and music. Honestly would not consider it fine dining but it’s definitely worth trying
Food: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 3/5
Celebrated our anniversary here. Tried the taste experience and was not disappointed. From the amuse bouche to the desert, it was all mouth wateringly good. The curry was delicious. However, it may be too mild for some peoples liking. The service was top class and there was hardly any wait between courses. The waiters were extremely friendly and there is a lovely serene atmosphere. Even though the food is pricey, I would highly recommend Bombay Brasserie.
Indian fine dining at its best. The food was delicious, we had the chef's choice and it was out of this world.
Nice place, authentic food and atmosphere. Clean and we'll presented food, friendly staff members. Recommended.
Amazing authentic experience! A must do when in Cape Town or staying at the Taj Cape Town.
Avoid - If you know your Indian food. Great Ambience and presentation, but useless food. Very helpful staff, but mixed up our order multiple times - that might work with someone who doesn’t know their Indian food, but I’m sorry - this is an expensive place in a 5-star Indian themed hotel that could do so much better with the flavors. If you don’t know your Indian food - this is not a bad place to start. Cold appetizers that are supposed to be served hot. Not enough flavor in the main dishes.
Perfect from start to end. The service was excellent, very attentive waiters, very kind with a charming humor. The decoration is lovely and not too intrusive. The food was amazing and very spicy. It's a very noble restaurant and the dress code is to respect
The only reason you're getting 5 stars, is cos I can't give you a 7! Absolutely, unreservedly one of, in fact thee BEST Indian (of the subcontinent kind) restaurant I've ever eaten at. I quipped to the staff that the only person who maybe could have done it better was my mum. Kudos all round for food, reception, staff, cleanliness, knowledge, presentation. I could go on and on. The prices may put some people off, but believe me, IT IS WORTH IT! You're getting what you pay for. And the drinks... I've never had cocktails like that anywhere in the world. Absolute masterclass! It's my new occassion place!
Best service in the world. The food was excellent and in one of the classiest venues in Cape Town!
Really 5 stars experience, with superb and friendly staff. Definitely highly recommendable, especially if you want a relaxed ambiance. Food is delicious and really worth every penny spent. Keep up the spectacular service Bombay Brasserie!
What an experience to eat here. Great food and great service from a highly attentive yet unobtrusive waiter. Food was delicious and sometimes full of drama, particularly the guava sorbet palate cleanser served with dry ice. Prices are high but not exorbitant.
5 star Hotel venue. Excellent service. Enjoyed set menu of variety of well prepared dishes.
Might be the best Indian restaurant/experience I've ever had in my life. Coming from an Indian born lover of all Indian cuisine, that is saying something. Must try for anyone who loves Indian food when you're in Cape Town. The service is outstanding, the ambience is wonderful, and the food is delicious and well thought out and well made.
Great , staff was great and they also friendly.Food was also wonderful.i will visit the place again.
outstanding!! food was amazing & service superb. you get what u pay for, so be prepared for higher than average prices - but so worth it after experiencing particularly poor service & average food elsewhere. will definitely go back!
I came here for my 21st birthday dinner with my family and I was blown away. Everyone who came by the table wished me happy birthday and they made everything feel so special. I will definitely be back !
Best food i hed since i came to cape town i cant eat anywhere else but there
Portions are small but nice my biryani had no potatoes in it, the experience and atmosphere absolutely loved it.
I only have one word... FABULOUS!
Fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous drinks, decor, attention to detail... everything here is 5 star and more. Dining here is a special experience at such an affordable price! It's a must!
Amazing experience. Something completely different. The gulam jamin was amazing. I ate there for 3 nights. Lovely food. Service is great.
Best Butter Chicken you will ever have. Friendly knowledgeable staff, magical ambiance... Perfect for that special occasions with your loved one.
Very disappointed. We know the food of the subcontinent very well, and this is underwhelming in quality and service, and is charged at double the price it is worth.
Amazing service and experience. I enjoyed myself at Bombay Brasserie.
Food and atmosphere is quite nice, service could be more attentive.
Great food and service!
The lamb breyani that they served me was so dry and tasteless . It must have been two or three days old . It was not edible . No apology from the duty manager .Is this normal ?
Absolutely delicious upscale Indian food. Attentive staff and upscale experience in the Taj.
Excellent Indian Food in a lovely setting. Our waitress was also very helpful and explaining the menu and suggesting dishes.
Absolutely enjoyed it,one of the best Indian Restaurants in Cape Town, the food was delicious
The most amazing meal I have ever had, the ravioli was sooooo good, I will definitely be coming back, fantastic work 😍
I had a great time, the service was incredibly wonderful!
The staff was nice but, the food wasn't that great, the atmosphere also was very stiff
Amazing service
Feels very welcoming
Liked the food
Fabulous food and Place and very good service. Should be a must visit for anyone visiting Capetown and desiring to eat Indian food.
A good store but somewhat dark. Very pleasant staff and good competitive prices. 👍
All covid measures in place. Food as good as ever. Menu is reduced from before though. But everything has to change
Comparable to the world's best Taj fine dining experience..Enjoyed the tandoori special

Friendly welcome. Nice service.
The dishes were all very tasty.
It is a luxurious Indian restaurant. A
highly recommended.
The restaurant is very ordinary. The session is nice, the service is very nice, and the presentation method is special, but the food is average and the quantity is very small, which means I will not return for it. The waiting time is long, a nice experience.
Exceptional dining experience. From refined dishes worthy of a French starred restaurant. The setting is also exceptional. Impeccable service. An excellent address in the center of Cape Town
Good welcome, good food, cozy, slightly stuffy atmosphere.
Excellent value for money for a beautiful place, well located
