Fabulous dinner! Truly. It was a 10/10 experience. The food was outstanding, the service was perfect and the wine was delicious. I wish I lived here, as I’d make this a weekly event. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our dining experience. I may come back to Cape Town just for a follow-up steak! Lastly, don’t miss the chocolate “lava cake” for dessert. Devine!

Booked in the UK via the website for my husbands birthday. I added on the booking form as requested for any special occasions. The staff were all fabulous and very attentive. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave recommendations we went with. We had starters of the Queen Prawns & Chicken Livers and mains of Wing Rib and Tomahawk with sides. Both were cooked to perfection. The food was exquisite. The total bill including drinks/bottle of wine and a desert was ZAR 3195, about £140 and worth every penny. My only disappointment was no reference to my husbands birthday, until we left and someone said Happy Birthday. I was expecting at least a candle in the desert or Happy Birthday piped on the desert at the very least.

The ambiance is great and the cuts of meat were good quality. We asked for medium rare for the cuts but one was cooked rare and the other medium to well. Worth checking out if you have a hankering for red meat!

Honest - our waiter was amazing and provided us with a special evening. He even overheard it as my girlfriend’s birthday and surprised us with a special dessert to celebrate! Great spot! Would definitely recommend.

We had cocktails upstairs and the lounge is so nice, the staff are incredible and the cocktails themselves tasted great. We even had some that weren't on the menu. We went at a quiet time and it picked up after a little while

KK is absolutely AMAZING! He provided the best service and was very attentive to our group. We probably visited a total of 5 times during our 1 week vacation. Go and ask for KK you will not be disappointed!! The food was great EVERY time.

Two weeks in South Africa and here we had the best food on our whole trip! I absolutely can not understand the negative reviews. Especially the soft mozzarella in the caprese salad with the sauce was incredibly delicious We ordered the cauliflower steak and that was definitely a highlight. It was incredibly deliciously prepared. 5 stars to the chef and the very friendly and accommodating staff! Keep up the good work!

I think I was expecting a better steak from a restaurant who specialises in steak. I had the ribeye. It was a bit over cooked, and tasty but not melt in your mouth delicious. Will say, the pepper brandy sauce saved an otherwise mediocre steak. The staff were noisy and chatted amongst themselves constantly. The kitchen area and bathrooms don’t smell great and there’s an off putting aroma from there. 🤢 Don’t bother with the creme brûlée it’s not worth it. It’s too thick and doesn’t have the delicate creamy ness that makes an excellent creme brûlée, and the burnt sugar didn’t crack and was too thick to enjoy. Service was ok. Ambiance inside is nice.

We had an excellent dinner tonight. Upfront the waiter showed the different pieces of meat. Especially the Karoo wagyu primal was really good. Also the spinach side dish was nice. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Must go place for meat lovers.

As a solo diner, I was concerned about having an awkward dinner but I couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot. The food was amazing, and special kudos to Tinashe, the waiter who went above and beyond to make sure that I was okay and had everything I needed. You can order very large steaks over here. The hosts are even letting you choose from the meat you would like to eat, so definitely a spot for meat-lovers. The cocktails and burgers were also good. The view on the sunset is amazing from the terrace outside.

Karoo Wagyu fillet… out of this world. Hands down one of, if not the, best steaks me or my partner have ever had. Melted in my mouth like butter. Cooked medium-rare to perfection. Seasoned beautifully. Understandably the priciest steak on the menu (200R per 100g) but worth every penny. Also had the good fortune of meeting the owner who was dining in the restaurant on the same night and was very hospitable. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Cape Town and a lover of fine steak.

Honest was a brilliant server! The hangar steak was excellent and fabulous value. And finishing with the sticky toffee pudding was the best idea I’ve had all week! My only small gripe is that they leave the door open to the outside, and it’s quite cold. They were kind enough to give me a blanket, but my hands are so cold typing this 🥶 I’d recommend moving the welcome stand inside and shutting the door!

I've been before many times. Change of ownership has resulted in a drop in standards. Perhaps it was that it was 26 December. But the crazy newly initiated no corkage policy of the new owners got me to leave which I was happy to do as the service levels had dropped and the menus were grubby (maybe less staff on a very busy night). Hopefully the food is still as good as it used to be. I can't fight over corkage - there are other great places that are sensible and charge for corkage. We won't be back.

We also had the Caesar salad, ribeye, mashed potatoes and the cheesey risotto. 3 favorite sauces recommended by Patrick were the Bernaise, chimichuri and pepper brandy. This is a good restaurant but so nearly could be great. The meat and overall menu is terrific. The wine list is excellent. The decor and setting are wonderful. The staff are keen and friendly. So why doesnt it quite meet its potential? It's the attention to detail and management that just isn't top class. Ultimately the owner needs to take a closer look at the customer experience. It took too long to get a drink on the table, too long to get an order taken, and therefore too long to get some form of food on the table. If you can't cope with the rate customers arrive at least learn from the french or Portuguese and get nibbles or bread served, but for goodness sake start serving booze...a 20 minute wait irritates customers and loses you money. You are charging premium prices for wine and food, and so you should; you have a premium position. But you also need to provide a premium experience. Staff are keen, but there is too much 'standing around' they need better leadership. And maybe the owner needs to be more present projecting a little charisma. This could be Camp's Bay's best restaurant, but that will require Camp's Bay's best management.

Perfectly cooked grilled calamari starter which we shared. Waitor really helped in recommending wine pairings, side dishes and a sublime choice in the Tomohawk steak. Do try the cauliflower and cheese. Also the mushroom sauce, both sublime. We really enjoyed the music which created a great atmosphere but in terms of busy-ness it was a little quieter than we expected for a Saturday night. Finished off with some Margaritas which were excellent suggesting the cocktails are bang on. All in all, great food, service and no rich to leave the table which was great.

Highly recommended: located in Camp's Bay, a spectacular location, a good stop for example for dinner after watching the sunset. Annelise served us and she is great: we ordered sirloin and ribeye and we loved them, super soft and with a lot of flavor. Accompanying: green salad and chips. To drink the glasses they bring them to you in good jugs, so if you order the jug to share between two, it is the size of the glass that they would serve you in Spain. And so you can drink a couple of different wines: I recommend Merlot! Lastly, very well priced! €48 between two.

The steak was really excellent! Very tasty food and reasonable prices for it too. If you reserve in advance you can also sit outside on the veranda and watch the beautiful sunset on the beach.

We stopped here by chance at the beginning of our trip and just wanted to grab a bite to eat. So we ordered the Wagyu Burger four times, I ordered a double topping. French fries and onion rings would be served, as would ketchup and mayo. In terms of taste, the citizen was really good, with roasted aromas and super juicy (see photo). Rarely have I had such a delicious burger. The ambience was modern and the wine bars looked very inviting. But the graffiti design in the toilet wasn't really my thing either, so only 4 stars. The service was already good on this visit, on our second visit this was also mentioned by our waiter Justin. Thank you again for the perfect service. Also a big compliment to all the other service employees at this point. On the second visit I gave instructions that we would like some time between courses. The timing here was executed perfectly. We first had the beef tartare, which I would have had better in France and Germany, but this was also very tasty here, a little too much acid (review at a high level). The Wagyu sirloin steak was very well grilled to perfection. Fries and salad were really tasty. I liked the salad dressing and I don't even like salad on its own. The wet aged ribeye was not only a feast for the eyes but tasted almost better than the Wagyu and was super juicy. The pork belly with braised apple and onions served at the same time was also perfect. To finish I had the toffee dessert, which had to be requested because I didn't want to share. One of the best desserts of my life and I've had a lot of them. Oh, the boys can also mix cocktails. Had an Old Fashioned. A perfect meal to replace a skipped breakfast. ;) The Bo-Vine in Camps. Bay, a real recommendation!
