Not the great area anymore. We went to the upstairs part of the Radium beer hall for a 30th birthday party. They had provided access to the facilities the night before so that they could decorate. Look great. Barman was friendly. Finger food was OK. Could of had a bit more variety. As the party was winding down a girl slipped down the stairs and hit her head quite badly. Management and staff not too helpful and I was told that the people were left waiting out on unsafe Street waiting for Uber to arrive, rather than allowing them to stay in the restaurant.

The place is a classic. You cannot be in Johannesburg and not come to it. Filled with regulars and sporting a classic menu, it is a must visit!

Classic, simple place the food was great even ended having seconds their chicken was well cooked, filling burger. The place could use with a bit of dusting though and fine cleaning. If you like spicy food try their hot sauce. Exceptional customer service.

Founded in 1929, it feels as if many of the original regulars are still there. I popped in with my son to watch the rugby, and soon made friends with Jason, Rob and Tom. Stories were shared as rounds were consumed. Standard pub fare of steak, egg & chips, but actually quite a wide menu. Definitely going back. Regularly.

Nice place but it used to be nicer back in the day. Food was average, we had no service and the place is dingy. Nice crowd. The area is not so safe.

One of the oldest pubs in Jozi and one of the coolest! Great music venue (look out for their shows) else the Quiz Nights are awesome or just go and meet interesting characters at the bar. They have a house brew beer so give this a go. Food wise, the chicken and fish is usually good but order off the pub menu rather than the main menu - these pub snacks are FANTASTIC!

Oldest pub in Johannesburg. A very diverse crowd of patrons and pleasant atmosphere makes the Radium a must for urban exploration of watering holes. The service is always on point and the prices are very reasonable for such an iconic establishment. Note that parking can be a hassle.

The Radium Beer Hall is in a bit of a dodgy area, but is home to some of the best pizzas in JHB. Especially worthwhile is a visit on a Tuesday when all pizzas are half price. The house beer (Radium Pickhandle) is a great craft red lager and goes well the pizza. Definitely worth a visit.
