This was my first visit the famous Bull Run. The main floor is extremely noisy because the bar is close to the restaurant seating area, so we decided to go to downstairs which was much nicer. The service was okay, they were very busy. The drinks were great! Beautiful and tasty too. The lamb shank was a win, absolutely perfect and devine. The steak was a disappointment. I usually don't have sauce with Mt steaks because I like a good piece of meat as is, however it tasted like it was made on a gas grill or something because it had a chemical like after taste. Lucky I had the prawns & jalapeño fries to fill me up but the steak was so disappointing.

This is a restaurant that I will recommend to anyone. The food was awesome, the atmosphere and vibe was so nice and chilled, but the best of all was our waiter. My wife could at first not decide where she wanted to sit and he told us, we can move as many times as we like until WE are happy. I have already told our friends that our next night out for great meals and awesome steaks...it must be at The Bull Run. They are not the cheapest by any means, but you would not expect that being across from the JSE, but it is WELL WORTH IT.

What makes me a happy girl - Meat, Potatoes and a Cosmopolitan 🍹 Fantastic dinner in the private dining room at The Bull Run Restaurant Sandton My creamy snails were delectable, and my Pork Ribs and Chips were just yummy. The meat was so tender. No need for dessert, but I did taste a piece of the Key Lime Pie and Opera Cake. The Key lime Pie is quite nice, light and refreshing. This restaurant is next to MARC shopping mall & Protea Hotel Balalaika Sandton. Ordered creamy chicken penne + vanilla milkshake for R70 for my kid. The penne is okay but the milkshake is so sweet. Steak + rib is a mixed impression because the rib is so good but the steak is so pale (I ordered medium well to well done). The waiter put the effort to recommend cooking style to medium well and provided kids activity.

More than satisfied ! I want to express my gratitude to Thabo Masasi Ndolwane, what a smooth, professional, very attentive gentleman. He takes such good care of us. As KLM crew we travel the world and visit lots of restaurants. It has to be said, what a natural talent ! Thank you so much. Of course as always, the food is succulent. We always come back, that is a guarantee.

A very beautiful space. Had the most delicious meal as well as drinks. The staff was also very friendly, fast and efficient. There didn't appear to be any parking close by, had to park at the Marc Mall and then walk to the restaurant.

Picked this restaurant to celebrate a milestone event… atmosphere was incredible - service was good although slightly delayed but I will put that down to the fact that it was busy… our table sent a few things back as the sides were cold etc. I tried out the salmon and wasn’t completely thrilled. My sides though were incredible …. Overall the restaurant was pleasant and quite lively - so if it’s vibe you’re looking for then this place is great

Reason for my four stars is that the Bull Run should bring back ladies ribs.. 600g is a waste in most cases for us ladies. Please consider. Having your own butcher I really don’t see why it can’t be ordered that way.

5/5 one of the best and finest restaurants in Sandton. Service is impeccable and so is the food! Ordered a chicken dish along with veggies and boeschedal Blanc de Noîr. It was an unbelievable experience and would highly highly recommend this place. Oscar was amazing and Warren suggested us food as per our specs!! 👍🏽😎

You have to eat the bread the moment they place it on your table because it dries out and hardens. I ordered the ribs which were not cooked to perfection- the meat wasn’t falling off the bone. Their chips tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. My sister ordered the burger and she didn’t finish it - she said it was dry so she didn’t finish it. My friend ordered the chicken and he seemed to enjoy it. The malva pudding was their saving grace to be honest. I just wish we had more custard. It got a little noisy

Classic Texan style steak house. The menu was prepared nicely, it had multiple currencies on it. Wine list was rather short yet had great selection. Lamb burger was phenomenal. Prime rib had little marbling, grilled well, tasted ok. The restaurant is in a bustling area, so a tad pricey 😀

I went there on Friday 21 April with my bestie and the food was sooooo amazing. Their mash tasted sooo good and fresh. The steaks are worth the price shem. Portions aren’t too small and the meat is fresh. I was going to rate it a 5 but we were not impressed with the service given.

The best steak I have had in a long time. The value for money on the special was incredible, however the normal menu prices are really reasonable considering the location and quality. Service was average - our waiter disappeared a few times and we were kept waiting. The restaurant owner/manager was really friendly and helpful. Overall I would definitely go back.

The restaurant has digressed, since I was last there in 2019, the food is good, but the service was extremely slow, we waited an hour for our food. It is also quite pricy, R35 for a coke.

A stylish and vibey space. I enjoyed my rib eye steak and my friend had a massive 500g TBone. I'd go back to try out another large slab of meat any day. Great service and a nice place to relax, eat and catch up with friends.

Once every month or two I treat myself to some lunch at The Bull Run. I like the old school setting and themes, and the service is generally much better than other local institutions (The Bull Run gets a lot of international customers who stay at the Balalaika Hotel). The menu is interesting and fits the theme well, and all food is cooked to your satisfaction. I must say, if you choose the mixed veg make sure you specify how you would like it or it will come crunchy (I'm not a fan of crunchy beans/broccoli and carrots). That said, their steaks are excellent, and the creamed spinach is also top notch. I'd also rate their wedges/roast potatoes over their fries. There is a bit of construction going on next door, but one barely notices if one is seated inside.

But what is happening at the Bull Run??? Formerly a reference in Johannesburg for meat lovers!!! But today a restaurant which has lost the quality of its meat. So what's left? Just attentive service. We tested several meat dishes and all the guests came to the same conclusion. The Bull Run is not what it used to be. Too bad, there are other meat restaurants that have managed to maintain the specific quality of South Africa.

Very attentive service. Unfortunately the steak was cooked to the wrong point, the waiter was unfamiliar with the term "medium rare" and it came out as "medium". The discussion was too stupid for me. But the quality of the meat was very good.
