Dr Wian Meintjies and his staff have been more helpful than other mental health professionals in town. His office is quite busy, so be sure to book an appointment well in advance.

Dr Meintjes himself appears to be a competent and compassionate psychiatrist , BUT the staff in his practice seems abrupt and unprofessional. One particular lady called us up, informing us that our "emergency" appointment was moved to 11:00 that morning, without telling us from which doctor's rooms she was calling. Our appointment with Dr Meintjes was set for a specific date and time (NOT an emercency), but we had an emergency appointment at our dentist. So we drove 60km to the dentist just to find that they never called us. When we realized the mistake, we immediately went to Dr Meintjes' rooms, just to be informed that our slot was given to someone else because we were late! They also said that they can not fit us in because the schedule was full. The dentist and dental technician ended up working LONG after their normal working hours to fit us in even though they were not responsible for the mix-up!
