Reviews of Cango Wildlife Ranch
AMAZING IF YOU'RE QN ANIMAL LOVER, Danielle was a great guide and very informative, the experiences offered to get close to the animals is superb!
What a lovely experience! The facilities are well maintained and the tour guides did an awesome job in creating a lasting impression on the visit. Leo, Jewellyn and Matthew are great tour guides!
The wildlife ranch was brilliant. Such a hidden gem. Some of the park you can visit by yourself, such as the snake and bird parts. Others, you need to be escorted by a guide. The guide was great and made it so fun. The wildlife ranch has all the big cats, hippos, alligators and so many more exciting animals. They even had some animals I had never seen before!
The reason I have not rated this 5 stars is because some of the experiences they offer are, in my opinion, not in the animals' best interests. For example, as you can see in one of my photos, a family were stroking and taking pictures with a cheetah. The cheetah looked miserable the entire time.
The first thing I noticed was the number of people caring for all the wildlife, which is a must for any conservation centre. Unfortunately, we visited on a scorching day, so we could not see all the wild cats. They were all hanging out in the shade. But I enjoyed the walkway above the cages and could see some of them lounging around. There is a lovely theme throughout the centre; all the cages are kept clean, and the animals are looked after very well. We skipped the crocodile cage diving, but it must be an experience to remember.
Excellent place for kiddies as well as adults. Fair priced and neat, you can see all the animals are well looked after and content. Virgil was a top-class tour guide. Crocodile cage diving is a must!
Just finished a lovely, safe tour with Navin, guiding us the whole way with fun, informative introduction to the animals.
So many animals to see, Encounters with Ambassador Animals , face painting, kiddies park with a spring castle and Jungle gym and a waterpark! 👐🏻🦁
They also have two restaurants and a snack shop.
Friendly Staff and Guides that are very informative.
Due to the bad weather (couldn‘t see big cats) we got an entry for the next day.
The experience with the cheetah cubs was also amazing.
Great place and friendly staff!
Lots of fun, no doubt. But, paying R200 for 5mins of interaction with an animal is a bit overpriced. The guides were all friendly and great personalities.
An absolutely wonderful place to visit. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals at the ranch. The animal encounters there are really amazing experiences too, which is an absolute must-do when you are there
Place is well kept. Staff helpful and friendly. Just way too commercial. Designed to extract the maximum from the wallets of tourists. On the pricey side and coming from a Cape Townian for context. The Monsoon "indian" restaurant a complete abortion. Food was terrible. Aloo paratha without potatoes, rock hard chicken(rock hard is not an overstatement. It really was) in the butter chicken and crumbs of lamb and mostly fat in the lamb curry. All ingredients totally disrespected. Felt scammed after paying over R900 for a meal for two adults and two kids. Ordinarily I wouldn't blink paying that at a decent restaurant least still and indian restaurant. This though is at best a poor quality take away joint. Certainly the pricing is far from consistent with the quality. Canteen food for sure. You better off trying the other restaurant.
A must visit when visiting Oudtshoorn and very affordable Big Cat encounters offered. The staff is friendly yet also professional. We did the Tiger and Leopard feeding aswell as the croc cage dive and it was an amazing experience to be so close to wildlife. You also get to be in the park for the whole day once you purchased a ticket and they have a restaurant on board too. They do provide swimwear and a towel for the croc cage dive, so no need not to do it. You guys are doing a great job taking care of the animals in the park.
Very friendly staff, informative tour guides, and a great experience overall. Make sure to visit when in Oudtshoorn.
Had the most amazing time there. the encounter with a chettah was the highlight of my trip. the staff were professional and really made us feel safe in the presence of a predator. You could tell they were well trained and friendly. We did the cheetah encounter with Kai, Heinz and Steve and they were really awesome and made the whole experience truly special. i would definitely go back there
My partner and I had such a fun experience at this Cango Widlife Ranch! We were happily greeted and offered a tour straight away with Sinead, who was very passionate, friendly, and knowledgeable! What a great tour it was! Thank you! There are a lot of various animals to see and they are being well looked after for sure. I can imagine they are rescued and are in a better environment and would survive better here, too, from what we gathered. Fun day out for kids too who can learn more about the animals. The restaurants are great too! My favourite animals were not the typical friendly cheetahs or shy leopard, but the meerkats!
This was an amazing experience. Took my 11 month old son for the first time, and he simply loved it. We, as adults, were also amazed at all the items animals there.
Lovely place for kids to see different animals, especially crocodiles however the "kids zone" play area seems run down.
This time I found our guide to be rather annoying - too many corny jokes, too much talk about animals toilet habits and using a swearword infront of little kids isn't cool.
Also too many people on the tour at the same time.
The birds in Amazonia didnt want to eat the nectar we bought most likely because it was around 4pm and they had been eating all day! We loved interaction with the Lemurs.
A really well managed and maintained animal park. The animals are all very well cared for and healthy, and most have been rescued and rehabilitated. The guides are also very knowledgable and friendly. Decent restaurant too.
What a wonderful day spent at this gem of an African attraction. Friendly staff, informative, amazing animals, well organized, and over all delightful experience. We highly recommend visiting this family destination on your next visit to the "Klein Karoo" as you will not be sorry. Cango Wildlife Ranch will definitely be seeing Us again soon. Our tour guide, Ronaldo, was a breath of fresh air, who clearly is passionate about his job, loves the animals and had us entertained and educated throughout the whole experience. Well done to this animal sanctuary who has stolen a piece of us city slickers hearts.
This was an amazing experience, I highly recommend people to go to this great place !
Our tour guide was such a sport and entertained us with his facts about each animal and made some jokes too ! I am so glad I could see the unique animals they had to show.
Wonderful experience, animals are well looked after, reasonable prices, staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant has delicious food with some adventurous options.
Beautiful experience, being able to see the animals very clearly and close by. Animals all very ethically and caringly kept.
Had an awesome experience and the tour was informative, especially about the role of the ranch in conservation. There are also other facilities on site such as a restaurant, encounters with animals, and a little souvenir shop.
Sold wildlife park along the Garden Route in South Africa. My wife and I visited in February 2020. They have a nice guided tour that takes about an hour or so and is complimentary. Really impressive cats section inclusion of tigers, lions and cheetahs. The fruit bats were absolutely huge. Definitely good value and great family attraction. I recommend stopping by while in Oudtshoorn.
Absolutely Fantastic!
We booked a VIP experience for 2 adults and our 3 year old. Carmen dealt with our booking made over email in advance and she was absolutely great. When we met her on arrival she remembered us straight away.
We had our vip guide - Sarah - and she talked us through lots of facts, lots of information, and showed us lots of animals and how they are being cared for. Along our tour we met Neil and Craig who were super knowledgeable in their area of responsibility for their animals. We saw behind the scenes stuff, the hospital building where animals are taken extra special care of, and next to the big cats where Craig was stroking his animals that he looks after daily. Absolutely amazing what they are doing here, and the research and care.
We did some close encounters within animals and we chose Lemurs, the Cheetah, and Swimming with the Croc...we were not disappointed. To think that we could stroke a cheetah safely still amazes me, Swim with a croc and feed some Lemurs is truly wow!!
We fed the crocs too.
Everything and everyone was truly great for us and our visit.
This is a must-see when traveling through Oudtshoorn, especially if you have kids. There is an abundance of animals to be viewed, big and small, from birds and kangeroos, to lions and crocodiles. Lots of activities, including feeding sessions, petting enclosures and diving cages, will keep the whole family entertained. Easy to find, and easy parking. The restaurant and amenities are also very good. Highly recommended.
Awesome place. Very informative. Tour guide very knowledgeable and keen to answer any questions. And the kids really loved it as well..a must visit
Awesome little place with a nice place to eat and plenty of animals to look at - our favourite being the little blue duiker. Friendly staff doing some brilliant work with the animals and great place to spend half a day. Lots of encounters you can do, some of which we did before so there's something for everyone. So if you're in Oudtshoorn or surrounding areas, definitely worth the trip.
Awesome place to visit. Staff and guides friendly and knowledgeable. Abundance of animals to view and learn about. Crocodile cage diving and close encounters with some of the animals.
This was a fantastic experience the kids had so much fun.. virgil ,Sidrick and Jowellen were extremely helpful and friendly.
We have just had an amazing experience at the Cango Wildlife Ranch. Tour leader Ed, took us one a wonderfully knowledgable tour of all the animals and we then got to have a cheetah encounter with Bianca and Jowellen. We then went to the leopard enclosure and got to feed her. A definite visit if you are in the area of Oudtshoorn. Allow for 2-3 hours.
Great wildlife ecperience. All animals well cared for. Facility in very good shape
Due to covid we were not allowed to have a guided tour. But it was enjoyable. Frendly stuff and they look after the animals really well.
This was the best visit we have made to a wildlife rehabilitation Centre!! It's incredibly well run, professional, clean and the infrastructure for the animals is top class! The kids loved every minute and the crocodile cage diving is a definite must do. It's a very unique experience. I highly recommend this destination
We actually went late but luckily made it for the last tour of the day
It was fantastic, the tour guide was very informative and enthusiastic 😁
The zoo has all the big cats and you get to touch the cheetahs. The kids can have their day by having close encounters with lemurs and other birds. The only problem is the shortage of staff. I mean the guy who takes you to the cheetah might be the one who will take your kid to the lemur. So you need to wait 20 mins or more sitting and practically doing nothing Otherwise the experience is quite unique and the staff handle the animals well
Our favourite place to visit! Kids love it here. Clean and well kept.
The place is extreemly well kept and nice ... Beautiful to see the peacock's walking around freely but its quiet sad to see the massive cats in small places like that ... Its even worse how they push people to buy tickets to get to feed the animals and take pictures with them etc ... The feeding for additional revenue is pushed to all ... Over all a nice place but its quiet a sad feeling I'f you prefer seeing them out in a bigger more natural environment etc .. If not .. Its nice ..
Awesome..Love the white tiger with no stripes and cheetah cups. Tour guide was very clue up with all the Questions
An amazing experience. Fewer animals than before, but they are well kept, well cared for and well fed. The place is clean and the guides are knowlegeable.
Worth visiting over and over.
What an awesome experience with the most friendly tourgide. Particularly loved the lion, cheetahs cubs and of course the massive flying foxes. Well worth a visit
If you did a safari in South Africa then I would recommend to visit this Wildlife Ranch, it gives you the opportunity to see the wild animals from close by. During the visit you can also buy an extra ticket to touch some of the animals, such as a cheetah, monkey or baby cheetah. If you are passing by, then I would recommend to stop here and visit the animals.
Awesome experience recommend it to anyone! Navin Winster was a wonderful tour guide you should give him a huge raise!
I learned alot. Me and my wife had so much fun. Great staff. I would love to go visit again.
Ideal place for families. Children will be entertained all day. So many things to do and experience. Was an absolute blast for the kids and we enjoyed the variety of food at the restaurant. Staff are friendly and polite and a special thank you to Carmen for making us feel so welcome. Executive Tours and Transfers...#letustakeuthere#wehere2getuthere
Really lovely and a vital cause. Great friendly team and very informative. Actually getting a chance to touch a cheetah up close was a genuine highlight of my life ! Professional care for the animals provided by a committed team
They have some of the wild animals and one can interact with the animals and one can do cage diving with the crogs
Highly recommended! What a fun, educational and jaw dropping experience! Our guides Navin, Spalouis, Clifford and Maxsi were top notch!
Amazing experience. I spontaneously went Crocodile Cage Diving there!!! and my partner spent time petting a cheetah. Our tour guide (Navin) was also the best tour guide I've ever had an experience with, he is quite funny.
Absolutely amazing experience, I learned so many things throughout the tour. The guide was very friendly and also very informative.
The actual interactions which we can have with some of the animals is a once in a lifetime experience, I was able to stroke the two beautiful cheetahs and also get some amazing pictures done.
All in all I can definitely recommend it.
I'll definitely go again and again. Our guide was the most entertaining, just a pity I cant remember his name. It was quite an experience and the guides know their facts and how to relay the information to the tourists.
Awesome experience and definitely worth a visit. Had the chance to be close to a leopard. Delicious hamburger at the restaurant.
Wonderful for the whole family. Go early so you have time to revisit all your favourites. Bring ekstra clothes for the kids if the get wet in the play area.
Amazing place that truly respects animals, rehabilitates them and explains which species are endangered and why. Highly recommend it
Amazing experience with very friendly staff. I would suggest doing the animal encounters
We loved to see all the animals in such good condition, even though in captivity. The guided tours were excellent and facilities are good.
Great place to take the kids. Wide variety or animals. Would go again if I'm in the area.
Our guide Teniel was very informative and joyful. And the experience was epic.
Not a big ZOO, but a wildlife park with a good story. Enjoyed during our stay at Oudshoorn.
It was a beautiful place, very clean and friendly staff. We had an encounter with the cheeta which was amazing!!! There were three people from the staff who guided us in the cage. They gave you a safe feeling when you are near the cheetah. Therefor a special thank for Matthew, Jeewellen and Cedrick!
What a wonderful experience!! We would be back, and next time make sure we stay longer !!
Animals rarely visible in their natural state, a guide who balanced educational information and humor, facilities in good condition and note that the restaurant is more than adequate if you want to eat there!
Definitely recommended if you visit this region of South Africa. It is a ranch with animals where a lot of attention is paid to the animals' stay. You will receive a good explanation about the different animals and will have the opportunity to pet or feed the animals. You will never be able to get closer to the animals than here. Definitely an experience richer!!
This is a kind of zoo with animals that have been taken care of. It looks clean and the staff is friendly. You walk over a bridge over the animals, which is less scary for the children.
I don't understand some people's criticism. A beautiful park. Well-groomed and well-fed animals. The tour of the park was ok. Everything very clean and tidy. Friendly people, many greeted immediately upon eye contact. Suitable for wheelchair users. Entrance fee at R170 per person may be a bit high compared to other parks.
The animals in the wild are much nicer to look at. The large group was also very difficult because you could hardly understand anything that was being said.
You can only see some of the animals. Some are too far away, others don't feel 100% comfortable in our opinion.
A farm with various animals, such as bats, frogs, lions, crocodiles, and others. They can be viewed without a barrier and some can be photographed. There is a tour guide who talks about the animals, their characteristics, nature, and life cycle. There is a restaurant and a special shopping place within the nature of the park itself (a souvenir shop).
This park contains a group of species of lions, and you have an amazing experience, which is touching and caressing the cheetah, accompanied by a specialized guide. It was one of the most beautiful moments when I sat next to the fourteen-month-old cheetah and touched him, and he seemed to me as gentle as a cat. The park also has the rest of the predators, including lions and tigers, especially the white lion, and you also have the opportunity to Feeding the crocodiles through the water cage for those who want this type of action. Ticket prices vary depending on the number of events and your attendance at them. Special thanks to Cheetah trainer Spiky
Very beautiful
There is a price to enter
Another price for tickets and photography
Kids only imagine with snakes
A person over 16 years old has the choice between a cheetah and two foxes
