Reviews of Kragga Kamma Game Park
Day trip, not living inside,It would be perfect if there were elephants 😊
What a fantastic place to visit! After the rain all the animals were out in the open looking for sunshine. The verity of animals we saw was just amazing, the all looked relaxed and well fed
Excellent park with plenty of animals.
The drive around, while doable in a sedan, is a bit rough.
The animals are plentiful and relatively comfortable with a car going by, so driving around to get photos is quite easy.
They have cheetas by the cafe for easy viewing, and then have good food and desserts in the cafe.
All In all well worth a visit.
Fantastic opportunity to spot most of the animals listed on the website. Route is easy enough to follow with a car but the guiding tours make it easier. Residents however do tend to exceed the 20km/h speed limit and tailgate day visitors through the site
Every time I've visited this park I've had the best luck seeing such a large variety of animals! It's a lot of fun that you can drive through so much of the park in your own vehicle, it allows you a certain freedom, yet certain sense of adventure as well. We saw tons of giraffes, wildebeests, warthogs, varieties of antelope, a tortoise, a pair of secretary birds and even some buffalo! Their claim to fame is definietly the cheetah habitat and experiences, which is truly amazing, but I actually had an even better time spotting and finding all the other animals in their largest habitats. I highly recommend a visit here!
Absolutely incredible work that is being done here. So amazing to see a happy family of Rhinos and the new additions to the Giraffe family. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the Cheetahs roam around.
Went on a game drive. Their were 6 of us. Our ranger was excellent and knew her story. Place clean and pleasant. Staff very friendly.
The park isn't huge so it's relatively easy to spot many animals.
I'd say to allow you 3 hours to do the tour!
They look good and healthy and absolutely accustomed to visitors so not afraid of cars.
Only in few areas is allowed to get out of the car.
The restaurant is ok and service was lovely but I wouldn't go there for the food.
Sadly there is a big electric plant nearby so many shots will have some wires or fances in the background.
Self drive game reserve with open view of animals however, you cannot see most of the animals the park boasts in their pamphlets. It is on unpaved road so pls do not attempt with any car besides a 4x4 and high suspension otherwise you will cause harm to your car. Good as a day trip but don't make a special plan to visit.
I enjoyed my stay here. It was lovely waking up to Rhinos outside the window in the morning. My only reason for the 4 stars is because of the gate curfew, which we didn’t know about until we got there :(. The gate closes at 5pm and you can’t exit the park after that time.
Do not let the size of this game park fool you. There are lots of different species to see, and they are all very close to the road. This makes photography easy.
There is an easy canopy walk across a hang bridge which follows a winding, elevated path through the forest.
The bush cafe has a large enough menu, at reasonable prices, to still any hunger pains.
There is a large viewing deck overlooking the Cheetah enclosures.
All said and done, it is a worthwhile visit.
Excellent in all aspects. Fair prices although must of the food offered is fatty. Game Drive is wonderful. Animals can be so close to the car (with some luck) you could easily touch them (not recommended 😉). We experienced water shortages caused by the draught season.
Awesome Game Park - We stayed there for 2 nights (the houses haven seen quite some visitors over the years) but the friendly and carrying staff is outstanding. It takes around 2 hours to drive around and you get soooo close to soooo many animals!!! If you stay on there overnight you have the opportunity for an early morning drive and will be alone with the game.
No card facilities at the gate. Had a pleasant self drive, accessible with a normal vehicle. Plenty of animals to view. The cafe was disappointing - rather take your own food and drink. Amenities are basic. A jungle gym is available for children at the picnic area.
So this place is generally now being commercialized for vast lush green jungle views, but if u r coming here to visit for a day out to see animals you won't like it like the way u like Kruger. That's a different Game Ride Vibe
What a lovely day to ride amoung animals and get a card to mark each one off as you spot them, rhino that block the road so you can have a longer look at them. The lions that have arrived to hear them purr. Then you can either a lovely lunch on the deck or a little picnic while the kids play in the play park.
Really lovely place. We used the braai facilities and it was so clean and peaceful. While we were having lunch the warthogs were relaxing a couple of meters away. It was really nice experience. There is even a play area for the kids.
We had a great time at Kragga Kamma seeing many animals and having a good lunch at the lodge. Self driving is fairly easy around the park but the guided tours give more background on the animals and what you are seeing - learned a lot!!
Fairly small and quick to drive through. Plenty to see in the open area, including springbok, zebra and giraffe. There’s also a cheetah enclosure, be patient though, they like to play hide and seek!
There is also a tame cheetah that you can have an up-close encounter with.
A wonderful reserve to visit if you want to get out into nature. There are plenty of animals and birds. In fact, I counted 40 different bird species within 3 hrs, including Knysna Turaco, Jackal Buzzard and Spur-winged Goose.
Enjoyable as always. A good variety of animals easily seen but without a zoo feel. The kids love it. The lamb curry was also excellent as was the Red Cappuccino.
Definitely Definitely worth a visit considering how close it is to Central PE. When you enter, you are given a map to follow, great variety of animals which was easy to spot from the start of the drive. Price is reasonable and well worth a day out.
If you are hoping to have safaris like you see on TVs then don't go here. They don't have carnivores in their midst. But yes, they got cheetahs, plenty of them.overall , for children's it is good place
It's an awesome place to see lots of animals. Beautiful picnic area and a fun walk around the cheetah enclosure. Price isn't bad at all considering it can be a whole days adventure.
Amazing views, beautiful room
A very rewarding experience always. Keep coming back. And the restaurant is excellent and affordable. Just a pity about all the houses being built on the reserve. I guess the alure of additional income has fueled this aspect.
Nice park and we were able to see 70% of the animals in the park. It sounds like there's an industrial park beyond the hill, which is quite disturbing. But all in all a good experience with bbq facilities and fairly close to town.
What a fantastic experience my three kids and I had. Got to see so many different animals along with the cheetah feeding. One of the highlights of our holiday
Driving your own car through the game park is really nice, to see the different animals! The café is rather expensive and there are no hot drinks during load shedding.
Awesome for day trip , bring with some meat and wood and braai or enjoy a awesome burger at the bushcafe
Amazing little game park with easy access to many animals. 3 of the Big Five can be seen. There is a well-priced restaurant and curio shop available too. Definitely a place that will see us again.
You have to go. there were so many animals visible on entrance, warthog, zebra, Springbok and Rhino were the first few animals I saw. There were also giraffe in the distance and they are all free roaming.
add this spot to you bucket list!
Animals on your front lawn.Amazing
Small game reserve that you can almosts guarantee to see 90% of the animals they have. There's are several picnic spots with ostrich wondering about. Their 6 cheetahs are feed at 13:00 but get there a about 12:45
My mom and I really enjoyed the afternoon drive around the park! The park is well maintained and the animals are all happy and beautiful.
Absolutely amazing experience. The place was clean and it was amazing to have animals so close all around us. Highly recommended.
Game Park right on my doorstep. Was quite impressed with it. Is very small but also very good. Nice variety of animals including giraffe. Def worth a day trip.
Such a lovely time with my family and my America husband as it was his first time ever seeing African animals in the wild. We were so lucky to see a ton of animals.
Awesome animal sightings. Lovely forest walk. You can interact with Cheetas which some youngsters did. Park small bit plenty animals.
Kragga kamma is really awesome! My little one loved it she liked the fact that the map had the animals on and to compare it was really fun ! Fun for the whole family prices are reasonable R90 for grown ups and R50 for kids had lots of fun
Lovely small park with tons of animals. Only takes an hour or two to see everything - we saw rinos, cheetahs, zebras, giraffe, lions, ostrich, warthogs, and tons of bucks!
Absolutely spectacular! The park isn't very big but it allows for more opportunities to see more animals! Will definitely be back again.
Bit slow through the gate but so nice to see the wildlife so close to town. Definitely worth the trip. Can't wait to see the lions.
What a wonderful experience. Seeing the animals from a short distance. I enjoyed the restaurant where I learned what a group of different species of animals are called. Very interesting.
Still underrated for 4.5. Get to see the animals very closely and also a chittahs camp, when they are usually difficult to spot.
Ideal for a short and productive visit ;)
Will see lots of game in a short while. Loved to see the babies. Braai facilities good, monkeys a pain, need to be vigilant not to loose your lunch!
Amazing place for people with small kids. The chance of seeing animals are very high and the restaurant is well priced and cozy.
Tour Guide was really informative & interesting about all the animals... we saw Giraffe Zebra Rhino Lion Leopards Water Buffalo Ostrich
A good outing with the family especially when you can drive in your own car. Our kids enjoyed every minute
The staff very friendly and helpful. Saw a lot of animals and that almost in our back yard, the animals look healthy.
Roads could do with some work but overall an amazing place
Plenty of animals to see from giraffe, rhino, lions, zebra and plenty of buck. A great game park with guaranteed sightings
Great day out roads are in good condition loads of wildlife to view. Family friendly.
saw animals in their natural domain, up close for the kids enjoyments too. cheetahs been fed white meat. a place to unwind
Me, my Wife and Son had two magical nights and we will defiantly he returning... truely highly recommended
Very quite and nice place. We love it.
Lots of animals to see, convenient location, kids love popping out for a game drive.
Compact with nice animals. Good with children. Cheetahs were a hit.
Clean lots of animals to see. Enjoyed cheetah's lunch.
Awesome. Very informative tour guider..
Great experience!!
We were charmed!
We had the chance to see rhinos and giraffes up close, it was INCREDIBLE!
For your information: the giraffes were near the lions from 3:30 p.m./4 p.m.
And the rhinos were lying down all day, until it cooled down, also around 3:45 p.m., they started moving to feed!
Then we saw lots of different antelopes, ostriches, monkeys, +++
Great experiences!!
Magnificent park.
What a welcome, giraffes, zebras, ostriches who escorted us to our lodge. A superb moment. The cottages are good, very well equipped. Small terrace for lunch
Well-kept park that is worth a visit.
The price-performance ratio is absolutely right and you get a lot for the low entrance fee (compared to other parks).
We felt alone there on a weekday afternoon and were able to relax and observe giraffes, zebras, hippos, lionesses, water buffalo, etc. 😊
There are two stars deducted for the unmotivated and arrogant service in the Bush Café, who kicked us out at 5 p.m. sharp, and the fact that there was no more food there around 4:30 p.m., even though the café is open until 5 p.m.
A unique place. The lodge is superbly furnished and well equipped. The animals in the reserve roam freely in front of the rooms. An experience to live!
Small downside: there is no soap or shampoo provided… and no evening catering in the reserve! We should have been warned so that we could go shopping and enjoy the braii.
The coffee shop on the reserve doesn't sell them either. It's a shame.
We spent two nights as a family in two houses. From there we could already see animals. You have another good opportunity to do this on the way to the restaurant, which leads past the houses. You can also drive through the area in a normal car and see many animals. The area is not huge, but big enough. The breakfast in the restaurant was also OK. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice stay at Kragga Kamma.
The reserve is very beautiful and spacious, and although the animals are in captivity, you can really see them enjoying this natural and free environment. It is very easy to observe most of the animals since it has several paths and open spaces where they rest or walk.
It is easily covered in a couple of hours and has a very nice place to have a picnic outdoors.
A small park but you can observe the animals very closely from the entrance. We took accommodation there. How wonderful to have giraffes or Rhinos just a few steps from the terrace.||Our best experience in South Africa including the cheetahs.
Park with a slightly precarious structure. You won't find many animals walking around the place. Trails without much maintenance, good for those who have a car prepared for an adventure on dirt and dusty roads. The place has a restaurant with few options and an African document store. It has chalets for rent if you want to stay in the park for a few days. Don't expect too much excitement and you will be happy!
Slightly smaller, but very nice park. There are many animals to see that can get very close to you. The rhinos were almost at the path that almost made it impossible to get through, but then they made room.
You can drive to your own area where cheetahs roam. There is also a great path that you have to walk. After you have seen everything, you can relax and enjoy a cold drink or a good meal on the veranda in the middle of the park. (Be careful of the monkeys - they are harmless, just a little curious). Highly recommended park.
You can also pet the cheetahs.
Very beautiful landscape.
This is a nice little park with lots of animals. We were approx. 2.5 hours there and we really enjoyed it. The coffee shop even serves filter coffee. However, you have to drive very carefully. The paths are sometimes very adventurous.
We had the chance to sleep there and what an experience! At sunset, two rhinos (the mother and her calf) were in front of our lodge!! What a fantastic show, my children (and adults too) couldn't believe it, it was absolutely fabulous and timeless.
