Reviews of Kragga Kamma Game Park
Day trip, not living inside,It would be perfect if there were elephants 😊
What a fantastic place to visit! After the rain all the animals were out in the open looking for sunshine. The verity of animals we saw was just amazing, the all looked relaxed and well fed
Excellent park with plenty of animals.
The drive around, while doable in a sedan, is a bit rough.
The animals are plentiful and relatively comfortable with a car going by, so driving around to get photos is quite easy.
They have cheetas by the cafe for easy viewing, and then have good food and desserts in the cafe.
All In all well worth a visit.
Easy self-drive, forest walk and bought coffee & snacks & gifts at gift shop and restaurant. The entire visit took about 2hrs in total, leaving us with more time to explore other places in the area. There are shaded picnic spots with tables and benches if you want to stay longer.
Went on a game drive. Their were 6 of us. Our ranger was excellent and knew her story. Place clean and pleasant. Staff very friendly.
The park isn't huge so it's relatively easy to spot many animals.
I'd say to allow you 3 hours to do the tour!
They look good and healthy and absolutely accustomed to visitors so not afraid of cars.
Only in few areas is allowed to get out of the car.
The restaurant is ok and service was lovely but I wouldn't go there for the food.
Sadly there is a big electric plant nearby so many shots will have some wires or fances in the background.
A Great private reserve in Port Elizabeth. Lots of wildlife to see upclose from your vehicle.
Fantastic Place. Since it is not big like other National parks, you can drive and see many animals. They are there overall.
The lions are less active and it is harder to find them.
The cheetahs are also hard because the space for them is big and with plants to hide.
If you go at 12:00 you will see them at feeding.
The lions are feeded early morning.
It is like a open zoo and not like a open savanna.
Nevertheless, fantastic.
If you are here, come to visit.
Prices are accessable: 100Rands per adult , driving your own car.
Do not go outside your car. It is really dangerous.
Wow! My first game experience and I get to chill with a cheetah for 15 minutes for only 150 rand, awesome! Very nice place and the wildlife seem very happy, can't wait to come back here again in a year or 2, there's a monkey walk too, but don't forget it's wildlife so if they're not their, don't be disappointed.
Lovely selection of animals. You can go on a guided game drive or drive your own vehicle through the park. Take the treetop walk or visit two tame cheetah in an enclosure. The park also recently rescued lion. Close to town but you feel miles away
Self drive game reserve with open view of animals however, you cannot see most of the animals the park boasts in their pamphlets. It is on unpaved road so pls do not attempt with any car besides a 4x4 and high suspension otherwise you will cause harm to your car. Good as a day trip but don't make a special plan to visit.
A fantastic nice little park where you can drive with your own vehicle (I would say the main circle is ok with 2x4 for some tracks a 4x4 is better).
It is also a good idea to stay in one of their cottages for a night. The rhinos will most likely come to the area where you sleep to get an evening snack ;) watch them from your porch with a glass of wine!
Took family there 2 weeks ago. They loved it. We got to see all except one of the animals. The staff were friendly. The location is perfect. Really worth it.
A great place for children and overseas visitors who have never been to a national park and who have limited time available. While the cheetah and lion enclosures are not natural environments, they do afford visitors a glimpse of the cats. Takes about 2 hours including a visit to the restaurant.
I enjoyed my stay here. It was lovely waking up to Rhinos outside the window in the morning. My only reason for the 4 stars is because of the gate curfew, which we didn’t know about until we got there :(. The gate closes at 5pm and you can’t exit the park after that time.
Do not let the size of this game park fool you. There are lots of different species to see, and they are all very close to the road. This makes photography easy.
There is an easy canopy walk across a hang bridge which follows a winding, elevated path through the forest.
The bush cafe has a large enough menu, at reasonable prices, to still any hunger pains.
There is a large viewing deck overlooking the Cheetah enclosures.
All said and done, it is a worthwhile visit.
Awesome Game Park - We stayed there for 2 nights (the houses haven seen quite some visitors over the years) but the friendly and carrying staff is outstanding. It takes around 2 hours to drive around and you get soooo close to soooo many animals!!! If you stay on there overnight you have the opportunity for an early morning drive and will be alone with the game.
I highly recommend a visit to Kragga Kamma Game Park. It is an excellent destination for anyone looking to get up close and personal with African wildlife, learn about conservation efforts, and enjoy a memorable and enjoyable experience. The staff are friendly, the facilities are excellent, and the animals are simply breathtaking. It is a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Port Elizabeth.
What a lovely day to ride amoung animals and get a card to mark each one off as you spot them, rhino that block the road so you can have a longer look at them. The lions that have arrived to hear them purr. Then you can either a lovely lunch on the deck or a little picnic while the kids play in the play park.
We had a great time at Kragga Kamma seeing many animals and having a good lunch at the lodge. Self driving is fairly easy around the park but the guided tours give more background on the animals and what you are seeing - learned a lot!!
Great experience. Being driven around the park and told about the animals was so much fun!
A wonderful reserve to visit if you want to get out into nature. There are plenty of animals and birds. In fact, I counted 40 different bird species within 3 hrs, including Knysna Turaco, Jackal Buzzard and Spur-winged Goose.
Could do more maintenance wise and the monkey walkway was nothing special animalwise to see although the nature and its effects was beautiful. Overall not a place to overlook for an outing. Also special to be able to touch the cheetah.
We had the guided open top jeep tour and was really impressed with how close we got to the animals. The guide definitely new his stuff and answered all our questions with great detail about the animals.
You get to see all the wildlife within a hour and enjoy either a picnic or lunch at the restaurant when you're done. A big plus is being literally a meter from the cheetah's so you get good shots of them with any camera.
Definitely Definitely worth a visit considering how close it is to Central PE. When you enter, you are given a map to follow, great variety of animals which was easy to spot from the start of the drive. Price is reasonable and well worth a day out.
Such a lovely drive amidst some animal life... pity the housing developments making the 'wild' life less so, more 'boxed in' specimens from the wild. But I get the conservation element, and.. but... so... I also feel discomfort. The story about the lions attests, thank you regardless of my personal reaction.
Wonderful experience seeing the animals. Went on a self-drive and enjoyed it very much with family. Saw so many animals: cheetah, rhino, vervet monkey, warthog and a variety of buck.
We did the self drive. It was awesome and we saw a lot of animals including rescued lions, cheetah, rhino, giraffe and lots more.
We saw so many animals and most were extremely close to our vehicles. Great for pictures of animals. Easy to navigate through the park. We saw more animals than we did when we went to Addo.
A very rewarding experience always. Keep coming back. And the restaurant is excellent and affordable. Just a pity about all the houses being built on the reserve. I guess the alure of additional income has fueled this aspect.
What a fantastic experience my three kids and I had. Got to see so many different animals along with the cheetah feeding. One of the highlights of our holiday
Awesome for day trip , bring with some meat and wood and braai or enjoy a awesome burger at the bushcafe
A lovely variety of easily viewable game and happy kiddies who enjoyed spotting the different animals and marking them off the list.
The restaurant unfortunately took very long to prepare the food we ordered, but the food was good.
My daughter and I enjoyed the guides tour drive, we both leaned quite a lot about the animals. The lady tour guide was great, friendly and informative👏🤗
The animals are just lovely. We could see rhino's, deers and breed of theirs, zebras, giraffe and many others. Best part is the self drive.
We had such a great stay at the game park! The accommodation can be improved a bit, but I will still recommend the park for it's beauty and their restaurant has really good food.
Animals on your front lawn.Amazing
We visit the park in the morning on our way to Plett.
You can do self drive in the park with a small fee per person or books a tour with the park.
The ranger I think his name is Michael was passionate and very professional
Not the biggest game park, but still a decent amount to see and do. Definitely worth it if you have not been. Roads are in fair condition and you do not need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to access it.
Now this is the game park you want to go to. No need to drive around for hours on end looking to see something very well set place and fantastic braai facilities and can buy wood at the shop if needed very helpful staff to. Fantastic place!!!
Absolutely amazing experience. The place was clean and it was amazing to have animals so close all around us. Highly recommended.
Wildlife sanctuary 10mins from the city centre. Features circular routes that offer a view of all the game one would want to see, and home to a cheetah sanctuary, allowing one to get next to these graceful cats.
Awesome animal sightings. Lovely forest walk. You can interact with Cheetas which some youngsters did. Park small bit plenty animals.
Kragga kamma is really awesome! My little one loved it she liked the fact that the map had the animals on and to compare it was really fun ! Fun for the whole family prices are reasonable R90 for grown ups and R50 for kids had lots of fun
Lovely small park with tons of animals. Only takes an hour or two to see everything - we saw rinos, cheetahs, zebras, giraffe, lions, ostrich, warthogs, and tons of bucks!
Bit slow through the gate but so nice to see the wildlife so close to town. Definitely worth the trip. Can't wait to see the lions.
Nice place to spend a few time. Not a big game park, but there is a nice thing to do. Great for children.
Amazing place for people with small kids. The chance of seeing animals are very high and the restaurant is well priced and cozy.
I loved the tame tiger who allowed me to stroke its head. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is cosy too.
A nice place to visit for a day out with the family. Plenty of wild buck to see and a friendly cheetah. Food at the restaurant is good too.
Small reserve, great for a half day trip. Staff is excellent. They accommodated a group of 40 of us and were great guides.
A good outing with the family especially when you can drive in your own car. Our kids enjoyed every minute
Absolutely love the reserve... Had a awesome time with family.. Luv that my kids could come pretty close to the wild animals
Such a nice reserve, easy to view animals, very different to the neighbouring Addo, different animals that aren't permitted in Addo, nice to see the giraffe.
Lovely staff, a great place to go on a self guided tour and see giraffe, buffalo and zebra amount other wildlife.
Good game park just not with a small car. Good animals but some are missing.
Amazing little game reserve on the edge of Gqeberha. Spent a night in a cabin with beautiful views. Feels like any game park in the county!
Excellent Game Park. Lots of game to see. Guided tour best option. Very organised and pleasant staff. Great for kids too. 👍
Loved it. We really enjoyed our day there and we saw so many game!! It was really an awesome adventure!!
Loved it. Timing about 2 hours so you don't get bored. Animal sightings definitely.
We had such a special day with the family, little ones loved it so much .plenty of close up photos
saw animals in their natural domain, up close for the kids enjoyments too. cheetahs been fed white meat. a place to unwind
Awesome braai area, beautiful drive through, see alot of animals
Not sufficient signages into he road to know which is the flow of traffic.other than worth the price
DeLyn showed us the developments... beautiful and well priced.
Awesome. Very informative tour guider..
Animal park very pleasant to visit. Price, around €7. The car journey is possible in a sedan with caution. The animals are free except the lions in enclosures. A great visit to make. Great work at the association, we feel that the animals are happy. To recommend.
Great experience!!
We were charmed!
We had the chance to see rhinos and giraffes up close, it was INCREDIBLE!
For your information: the giraffes were near the lions from 3:30 p.m./4 p.m.
And the rhinos were lying down all day, until it cooled down, also around 3:45 p.m., they started moving to feed!
Then we saw lots of different antelopes, ostriches, monkeys, +++
Great experiences!!
We were really impressed by the small but nice game park. You could see many animals. The accommodation was also nice and it was a real experience!
A good option is a self-drive safari in your own car for pennies (8 usd per person). We didn’t see any predators: the lions and cheetahs were resting somewhere in their pens. But we’ve seen enough of ungulates, giraffes and rhinoceroses. Almost like a real safari: you are in the car, animals are around. Enjoyed the ride for 2 hours
Slightly smaller, but very nice park. There are many animals to see that can get very close to you. The rhinos were almost at the path that almost made it impossible to get through, but then they made room.
You can drive to your own area where cheetahs roam. There is also a great path that you have to walk. After you have seen everything, you can relax and enjoy a cold drink or a good meal on the veranda in the middle of the park. (Be careful of the monkeys - they are harmless, just a little curious). Highly recommended park.
You can also pet the cheetahs.
Very beautiful landscape.
Wonderful place! In a relatively small area you can see a lot of wild animals. Only the presence of a fence and electric poles prevents you from fully experiencing yourself in the wild... For a reasonable fee, you will be given a ride in an old Range Rover throughout the park! The guide will show you all the interesting places.
If it's the first park to go, it's worth it. But if you've already been to Addo Elefante, this becomes disappointing. Chetta is in an extremely small place. Large vehicles such as motorhomes cannot travel properly.
But there is a giraffe, and even seeing it from afar is cool.
And like all people in South Africa, the staff are very attentive.
It is a very suitable place to see the Big 5, the routes are very well maintained, it is quick and easy to access from Port Elizabeth, inside you can find a good restaurant with some souvenir shops that you can take advantage of. I recommend it
What is more beautiful than waking up with Giraffes and Rhino under your balcony. Simple house but everything is there and the view is fantastic. Nice compact park.
