Theatres themselves are great. However, confection counters are often understaffed at peak times (from my experience) which results in long queues delaying you significantly.

Movies are great they make us visit another world. It's just a pity we have to spend R1000 to watch a movie and have some popcorn.

I enjoyed being in the 4DX experience theatre which was certainly worth the hype for me. From feeling the sprays of water to the motions matching the screen, I had a great time and didn't mind losing a few popcorns for the fun shakes. Highly recommend for a pricey date.

We went to the Imax. It was great, we really loved it. The place is clean and neat and bathrooms is well maintained. The only thing was that they don't turn the lights on when you enter and the chairs have feet rests so you keep bumping into everything because you cannot see

It's exactly what you expect from a cinema. It's clean enough and the movie quality is fine. Unfortunately, when there are long queues for refreshments nothing is done to speed up the process, and the staff seem as though they could do with an extra person behind the counter on such days.

It was okay, we had movie coupons but you can't redeem it at all cinemas but it doesn't say that on the coupon. Got quite the run around and inconvenience. The cinema seating is strange and congested. People talk a lot during the which is very annoying. I will stick to Sterkinor,

One of the best cinema's by Nu Metro, it has normal 2D movies, 3D movies, 4DX experience, 4DXtreme Experience and the top notch VIP Xperience. You can by popcorn 🍿, drinks (soda or slushy) and sweets. The staff is friendly and their service is good. The facility is always clean. I saw that the popcorn buying place on the inside has alcohol 😎😎😎 I guess the Xtreme & VIP Xperience's prices are worth it 😏😏

Worth the price. I suggest you get there an hour before if you plan on watching a movie on the release day as the lines are long to get snacks.

If you are planning to watch a blockbuster movie on opening night, I wouldn't suggest Nu Metro Menlyn. It was way too crowded and disorganised. The self-service lines went out the theater entrance leading into the mall walkways. Even with priority self service lines (ABSA, Momentum, Nebank, Sanlam ect..) the lines were long but a little quicker than the ordinary self service lines. Then the line to enter your respective cinema was just as long as there was only one line for all the cinemas and only 2 cinema attendants. The line was so long we missed 10 minutes of the movie. The refreshments line was just as long. We only ended up getting refreshments an hour into the movie as we waited for the queues to subside. To top it off, the light was on in the projector room for about 30min into the movie which made all the darker scenes very difficult to see. Eventually the light was turned off and the picture improved. I wouldn't easily go back to this Nu Metro.

The movie was great! Service at kiosk terrible. Stood 30min in que and almost missed the start of the movie, while the ladies helped friends and family that cut the line.

Movie house walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the movie next door... And the wheel chair seats are not next to the normal seats, this makes it difficult if you need to feed a person or help them drink. The table in front of the disability seats is nice, but would rather have them next to me.

The place is old and dated, the staff at least try make up for the lack of a venue with an odd smile here and there. The Cinema that we were in had no working aircon, the seats are still the old version seats and not the sofa type, and the screen is possibly the smallest thing out there. Got to watch a movie at least but probably won't be going back any time soon.

Nu Metro's 4DX is something to add to your bucket list! Wonderful immersive experience! Completely worth the price - all your senses will come alive. 4DX provides a 3D visual experience, moving seats, lighting and smoking effects, sprays and smells. A truly delightful experience!

I don't know if it is just me, but a movie date has become really expensive. Good things. Generator, so the movie never stops in loadshedding like it does at brooklyn. Movie image is good, excellent sound and the chairs are comfy. Bad things. Popcorn litterly costs R3 to make, and then they sell a "special" for R60. Sorry that is too far for me. I never get the feeling that the movie is hygienic enough, sometimes the chairs can be sticky and I'm just left to wonder what it could be. I use to be able to buy 2 tickets for about R100 about 10 years ago. Now I find myself paying R130 for only myself, that is hard on a student budget. And the worst part is the ads. If you say something starts at 3 pm, it should start around 3 pm, not 3:25 pm. In that 20 minutes I could of stayed home and illegally downloaded the movie, and seen less ads. And the sad thing is, this is most movie theaters today. I think it is time for some serious change or innovation, or they will become something of long ago, like Toys R Us in America.

Premium cinema rooms are excellent. However, smaller rooms live much to be desired. I once watched a movie where the aspect ratio was all wrong and the top and bottom of the movie was just missing

This is my go to cinema of choice. Always a wide variety of movies and experiences to choose from. Close to other amenities. Offers standard 2D and 3D, Scene VIP, Scene Xtreme and 4DX experiences. Self help Kiosks are handy and two snack counters definitely helps.

The new revamp is coming along very well. Its the place to be for movie entertainment, with a variety of cinema theaters to choose from. They have VIP, scene extrem theaters and to top it of a 4dx theater.
