Reviews of The Robertson Small Boutique Hotel
EVERYTHING, but everything was just perfect. The Hotel manager Walter, was outstanding and his service, welcome and knowledge was top class. Ellen in the dining room and bar was great and lovely to talk to, over and above her good service. The room was comfy, warm and cosy with a lovely view over the pool and into the beautiful gardens.
What a fabulous place! Stunning decor, incredible food, but most of all the staff were brilliant! Teena the assistant manager deserves a special mention for his attention to detail, his professionalism and the way he went out of his way to ensure we had such a lovely experience. This place is a gem and I would definitely return. Thank you !
What a delight! This is a first for us that we are very happy with the hotel itself and that there is no need for a view or to be very well located. The design is done with such taste, the food was incredible and great friendly service. Loved the peaceful beautiful garden
WOW, spent our Wacky Wine Weekend there and had a splendid time. The menu did not change, but for a weekend like that where the guests spend most of the time on the wine farms, it is acceptable. Will be back soon, especially to spend more time at the hotel itself. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Impeccable service, amazing rooms, a small slice of heaven. A moderate drive from Cape Town and well worth the effort. We would gladly stay here again and recommend for couples.
We stayed in a pool suite and it was just amazing. Spacious suite, nice private deck next to the swimming pool and very good bed.
We also dined at the restaurant and the food was fantastic! Very friendly and helpfull staff! We strongly recommend this hotel
This place has single-handedly changed my perspective of Robertson. It was fantastic staying with this small hotel. The service, the food, the room, just about every single thing was perfect. Well worth the money if you find your self in Robertson.
What a lovely experience 🤩

Great service
We were there in February and absolutely loved it. The hotel does indeed look small from the outside, but the rooms are incredibly beautiful and quite extraordinary! A large bathroom with a window to the room and in front of it the pool, which you can practically jump into from your bed!! The staff is super friendly and the whole atmosphere is very warm and personal!! |The beds are very good, the breakfast was excellent and our car was washed overnight without being asked!!|All in all a wonderful experience and we will definitely come back next year….
A really nice little hotel that leaves nothing to be desired. Dinner and breakfast were both great. Our room 6 was nice but there were nicer ones. We had 2 showers in the bathroom and the beds were very comfortable. We didn't have a balcony like the other rooms. Unfortunately we were only there for 1 night.
This was our first time in Robertson. The place doesn't have the charm of other destinations on the Cape, but it is located in a stunning setting with truly excellent, some lesser-known, wineries...||The hotel is very chic, the rooms are beautifully furnished. The staff is very attentive and everyone is very caring. In addition to breakfast, the hotel also offers lunch and dinner, and everything is delicious.||Many thanks to the entire team!!!
Simply stunningly beautiful. We had a suite with direct pool access, which was fantastic! The ambiance, staff, and food were simply fantastic. We would book it again.
A great little hotel!!|Our hotel room with direct access to the pool was unique; The furnishings of the rooms with the beautiful bathroom are great. The lovingly designed garden, the restaurant and secure parking spaces, everything is at its finest. This hotel absolutely convinced us and we can absolutely recommend it to everyone!
Adorable service, very tasty and delicate dishes accompanied by superb dressing. For dining in the town of Robertson, you won't find better.
The hotel's facilities are great. We give this hotel 5 stars. 2 pools, garden, bar, restaurant, secure parking, everything is top notch. This hotel absolutely convinced us and we can absolutely recommend it to everyone!
Located in a residential area of this small town, this hotel is very refined. The decoration is neat, the room well equipped although sheer curtains would be appreciated so that the room is not a permanent showcase because the windows overlook the path and the swimming pool. The only possibility of maintaining a little privacy is to close the heavy curtains or shutters.||The welcome is warm and smiling, the (2) swimming pools well maintained with a sufficient number of deck chairs and bath towels.|| The only downside, the Reuben restaurant which we hear the greatest praise for, was unimpressive. Certainly the meat was succulent but the accompaniment was nonexistent apart from a salad, which I had already had as a starter... Overdone, we should go back to basics.||Thank you for the free car wash.
What an exquisite boutique hotel! Attractive, spacious room with a small private terrace adjacent to the swimming pool. Take a refreshing dip straight from your bed. Waking up wonderfully is not a task. ||The whole is surrounded by a tastefully landscaped, well-maintained garden.||||It is not a cheap hotel, but there is a lot in return. No nonsense about the costs of the minibar, there is a delicious bottle of "own" wine cold, as well as a bottle of champagne. Nuts, small sweets, it's there and it is immediately replenished. All-in really means all-in here. These are small things with a big effect: you really feel like a guest. It's strange that more hotels don't do this. ||Another nice thing is a clean car upon departure. Just like that. Much appreciated as a gesture. We didn't need the umbrella in the closet, but still, it was there. ||Dinner on the terrace was excellent. Once again that enormous hospitality and attentiveness, which unfortunately are not self-evident everywhere. ||During our tour through South Africa, we allowed ourselves the luxury of exclusively 5-star boutique hotels. All good, one better than the other. ||The Robertson Small Hotel is in a class of its own; lonely height, highly recommended!
Very charming hotel, perfect welcome, very nice room, perfect bathroom! ||Well-stocked mini bar ..... swimming pool terrace ... car parking .....not to mention the dinner which was a real treat, top breakfast ....||Definitely worth the detour if you like refined and quiet places
The service is top notch. We booked a room in the main building: no privacy, a lot of noise from the bar... And that for €150/day??. The Reuben's restaurant creates expectations, but then the "successale" in Franschoek is much better. |For half the price you can stay in Robertson near Ballinderry ... Very nice guesthouse, but I knew it too late!
This was the 'most expensive' and for us the most special hotel that we would visit during our Garden Route. And they didn't disappoint us. This hotel is all about details and that is special. It is a beautiful hotel, despite being located in a residential area. The restaurant is also more than great for both dinner and breakfast.
Hotel that offers luxury and luxury of tranquility. The swimming pools are shared (2 or 3 rooms) but very pleasant. The building has charm. The meals are good and served with great professionalism. In short, don’t hesitate!
One of the best hotels we have ever visited, we would love to come again.....| | Great service, excellent restaurant and excellent rooms.| A winner in every respect. Free well-stocked minibar, car is being washed....what more could you wish for?| | |
A beautiful hotel, with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food in the restaurant as well as the breakfast were very tasty. Highly recommended
What a surprise, a gem, what a place, what lovely people, and the food? The pictures say enough!! FANTASTIC and eventually on to Swellendam, I would have liked to have stayed here longer, it was truly a wonderful surprise that I will not soon forget!
We stayed at the Robertson Small Hotel in the Honeymoon suite. ||The staff was super helpful and friendly. ||We received a nice gift in honor of our wedding. ||The restaurant was great and so was the breakfast.
Don't miss this gem in Roberston. Can warmly recommend the rooms with pool access. You don't want to leave here. We had dinner here the first night. Very good. Peaceful and comfortable, it's great to live here with children.
This was the second time we stayed here, a superior pool suite. This hotel is quite expensive by South African standards, but in terms of comfort, atmosphere, restaurant and employees, it is more than worth the price. We will go back!
A little gem, maybe not 5 star but still very good. Well received with rainbow warmth by one who showed how to take care of the guests, which was unfortunately noticed when he was off day two. This again underlines that the staff is just as important as other facilities. We highly recommend this hotel if you plan to visit Robertson.
Second time we visit R small hotel. Fantastic oasis in Robertson South Africa. Wonderful staff, food, rooms and the whole place. This is how it should be. In an otherwise rather boring environment apart from one of the world's longest wine roads, the R 60 has for some reason created this wonderful hotel.|
Sumptuous setting, attentive service, with a sometimes disconcerting attention to detail.||In short, a dream, and perfect comfort.||A setting that is altogether simple and which promotes relaxation and well-being.||Service and catering of high quality.
Beautiful hotel, very pure delicious food, friendly staff
Because it is a wonderful, delightful gem in which you truly feel “royal”.
