Stunning breakfast and wine tasting experience with the owner . Super friendly service
We booked all 5 of the converted stables for an extended family stay. When we arrived, Renee was wonderful to deal with and very friendly. The new owners, Dirk and Natasha were extremely welcoming and helpful. Everyone in our group loved our stay, and the 2018 reserve shiraz was a tasty drop.
What a wonderful stay we had! We were a group of 12 and they literally went all the way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I'll highly recommend spending time in this outstanding establishment with beautiful rooms and amazing views 👌
We had a wonderful stay at Dunstone during our Wellington Wine Walk. Dirk and Natasha are wonderful hosts and they did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staff were helpfull and friendly. I’ll definitely recommend Dunstone as a base to explore the beautiful Wellington area and surrounds.
We loved our stay! The new owners, Dirk and Natascha made us feel right at home!
We will definitely be back.
Great stay. Absolutely love this place. If you love luxury out of the city's busy life . This is the place. Come relax. Room service or take a relaxing stroll down to the stone kitchen for some great food wine and olives. They really do take car of you here. If you stay longer and want some variety w.r.t eating, there are other close by restaurants on farms as well.
It's a very beautiful place, but in my opinion it's too pricy. They've got it all to make it fantastic, but the service was poor during my stay here and there were small irritations like:
-check in was 20 minutes late
-the dstv in the room didn't work
-the tv remote didn't work
-Every time our neighbor opened the hot water tap our lights dimmed for a second
-the soap dispenser was broken
-service at the restaurant was very poor at breakfast
My stay was the night of 1 January, so it might be that the staff really just let them down.
I always look at places that is child-friendly because I have a 2year old. This place took my breath away especially because of the open spaces for the children, the playpark, the play space inside of the restaurant and the animals outside.
One of my favourite restaurant's! The lamb burger is the best, setting is beautiful and very kid friendly which makes our visit so much more enjoyable!
FIVE star chicken schnitzel!! And what a joy to enjoy you meal outside in the orchard under the trees. Lots of place for kids to play.
Beautiful views, great staff and the yummiest of food . Rooms were great, loved the underfloor heating and the jacuzzi . Had an amazing stay
Peaceful and tranquile. The food and service was excellent, staff friendly and accommodating. The only issue was duvet was too hot,but that could be the case of hot flushes 😀
The Stone Kitchen's food is always good and sitting out under the guava trees is a goos place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Nice facilities for the kids. Food was decent, lamb burger was the best dish at our table
Service is great. Superrr ,excellent.

Fantastic service
Beautifully renovated country house with beautiful spacious rooms. Beautiful swimming pool with luxurious beds in a beautiful garden. Here they understand what hospitality is, almost every detail has been taken into account, from the fruit in your room to bringing you a (complimentary) cup of tea or coffee with cake at the pool around 4 o'clock. Super sweet staff. Very beautiful surroundings with vines and horses. Truly a place to stay longer and explore the Western Cape from there. Here we come back.
We were on our way to Cape Town. It was more of a coincidence that we came across the Dunstone; we hadn't previously thought Wellington was worth seeing. We were even more surprised. The Dunstone is right down to the last detail without seeming artificial. Fantastic views over vineyards and the mountain range. Very nice and well-kept rooms, a wonderful breakfast, a fantastic dinner and a wine tasting of our own wines: what more could you want.||In addition, extremely friendly staff, absolutely harmonious service. We will definitely come back here.
beautiful location! We stayed in the "lavender" room, which was very nicely decorated with a four-poster bed and accents of lilac with even lavender embroidered on the sheets. Everything was provided as in a 4 star hotel, toilet products, fruit, flowers, tea ... .||in the afternoon there was tea and cake and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. you could taste all their wines, just like that!! you can stay and eat on the domain and you can choose from 3 starters, 3 main courses and desserts. It is tasty, pure and super fresh.
Beautiful place. Beautiful view over the vineyards and surrounding mountains. Very nice, cozy, spacious, luxurious and clean room. With a piece of your own private garden. And a beautiful swimming pool with nice beds around it. A cozy common room and terrace for wine tasting, among other things. Very friendly staff. And a tasty and cozy restaurant on site. Really more than recommended. Price-quality ratio really top. If we are in the area again we will definitely go back!
Beautiful location. Difficult to find via tom tom. Once you've found it, you'll be spoiled for choice. Everywhere you are you have a beautiful view of the mountains/vistas. Our house was absolutely great. We enjoyed it
Dunstone Country is located on the outskirts of Wellington and the last bit to get there is a gravel road. ||Next door is the Swedish-owned winery Andreas. A short walk below Dunstone is their restaurant with excellent food. The rooms were large and comfortably furnished. There was wine tasting and afternoon coffee every day. The hostess took good care of us. The price was somewhat high considering the location.
A beautifully situated manor, with 5 rooms that are meticulously maintained. Everything radiates peace, tranquility and class. Well-kept courtyard with a view of the mountains behind and a lovely outdoor garden with infinity pool and luxurious sun loungers in the middle of the vineyards and beautiful views of the valley and surrounding mountains. Private parking space for your car in the shade of overhanging grapevines. ||||Separate lounge with separate outdoor terrace. Free teatime with cakes and cookies is held here between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. And from 6pm to 7pm free wine tasting of wines produced at Dunstone. ||||We had booked the Lavender room, with a view of the pool. The Lily room next to our room also has a view of the swimming pool, the 3 other rooms are just behind the lavender and lily room. Each room has its own outdoor seating area with 2 luxurious chairs. The rooms are classically furnished with almost an excess of decoration. Pleasant room with tiled floor, darkening curtains, well-functioning and silent air conditioning, flat screen TV, free WiFi of good quality, refrigerator, etc... Nice spacious and clean bathroom with combination bath-shower. All toiletries available. Good towels. Super double bed with mosquito net, good mattress, 2 pillows per person.||||The restaurant is within walking distance (200m) of the rooms. This restaurant is also frequented by people from Wellington and is quite large with plenty of options for children. But absolutely not disturbing for the inconvenient guests due to sufficient distance between the restaurant and the rooms.|| ||Conclusion: a top stay for a few quiet days, not cheap, but luxury has its price.
