I forgot 900 USD in the room safebox after checkout. After I called back to the hotel it was still there and The officer kept it completely for me.

F. F.I recently stayed at the Sandton Sun hotel for a business trip and unfortunately, I must say that it was not the best experience. While the hotel is a good business hotel, it had a lot of issues that made my stay less than ideal. As a result, I am giving it a 3-star rating.
The first issue I encountered was that I had to change rooms three times before finally getting one that was in good working order. The air conditioning in my initial room was not working properly and the room was very cold. The second room was located on a very low floor, which made it quite noisy. However, the third room was satisfactory and I was able to settle in comfortably.
One positive aspect of my stay was the selection of wines available at the hotel. They were of high quality and definitely added to my experience. Additionally, the Food and Beverage Manager was the standout employee of the hotel. He was extremely knowledgeable about his job and went above and beyond to make my stay more enjoyable.
However, overall, I was not impressed with the hotel. I was not happy with the fact that my client booked it for me, as I would not have chosen it myself. While the hotel is located next to a conference center, there was nothing special about my stay. It was a standard business hotel with a lot of problems that detracted from my experience.
In conclusion, while the Sandton Sun hotel has some positives, such as good wines and a knowledgeable Food and Beverage Manager, the issues I encountered during my stay detracted from my overall experience. The fact that I had to change rooms three times before finding one that was satisfactory was frustrating, and the hotel was not able to provide a more enjoyable stay. If you are looking for a business hotel in the area, I would suggest considering other options before choosing the Sandton Sun.
R. G.Beautiful luxury hotel but security is not very good in the restaurant and lobby area. Stayed here for 6 nights and on day 3 all my stuff got stolen from my handbag in the lobby area right outside the restaurant. The hotel had the video of the person taking stuff out of my bag and they said he is a regular there. They could not do anything about it.

C. J.Nice clean hotel with a good, stocked warm breakfast. Excellent staff. If you have a chance to stay at the Sandton Sun versus the Towers, I’d choose the Sun because of the vibe and the sun deck/rooftop. I’ve stayed there in the past and liked it better. You can go over there even if you are staying at the Towers. We had to stay at the Towers this time because of room availability due to a large conference for a few days. As a note, in the mornings, it takes a long time for the hot water to come on. I’d have to run the shower for at least five minutes before any hot water arose. Management should look into that.
N. B.One of the best hotel and restaurant facilities for your stay. This was my second stay and they never disappoint. Spent a week with them and every day I returned to my room after a long day, I'll find it super clean as if I've just checked in.
They're level of professionalism is complementary, level of cleanliness is amazing, coffee machine available in the rooms, restaurant food is amazing.
Biggest plus is the mall that is accessed through the restaurant floor, I could go on and on and on, try it.

A. B.Very posh and beautiful place and the staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. The room is great (spacious, clean, comfortable, nice bathroom, etc.). Another good feature is the fact that the hotel has an entrance directly into the mall which is fairly handy.

Welcomed like royalty from the moment we entered. Swift and humble check-in process with all staff members maintaining a smile throughout. Professionalism was observed at all points throughout our stay. Mr.Elliot and Mr.Bruce were names to mention who indeed went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home and at ease with the best of comfort throughout our experience.
The accomodation (suite) is the pinnacle of luxury. Clean, spacious, modern. No faults at all.
Food and restaurant was super awesome and vibey. The music was on point with the live DJ and the food was excellent in quality and quantity.
Overall a wonderful experience where standards were definitely not altered amidst the Covid-era. We shall definitely be back soon.

Although just a tip, if you're afraid of heights just beware as this hotels elevators are glass. One of my friends actually threw up in it after having black tea for breakfast :D

M. A.The restaurant makes the best mushroom risotto in JHB and they have excellent service with convenient parking. It's a bit of a maze to walk through and find - you may get lost on your walk about so don't be shy to ask someone for directions or to confirm you're headed in the right direction.

A.This hotel is located in a new neighborhood of Johannesburg inside a large shopping center and is practically directly connected to Mandela square.|It is the best solution, although expensive, to stay in this city as it is very dangerous to go around alone . |The rooms are very spacious, equipped with all comforts but the thing that struck us most is the breakfast which is simply superb.|Car parking is available for a fee.
Z. L.The location of Sandton Sun and Towers Hotel is excellent. It is a 5-minute walk to the conference center. There is a high-end shopping mall on the 6th floor of the hotel, which is easily accessible in all directions. The area is considered to be a wealthy area, and the security seems to be relatively safe, so tourists or business guests can come and go with peace of mind.
The room layout is that of a business hotel, with spacious space, clean bed and desk, but there are no USB plugs, but the plug spaces in the room are sufficient. The bathroom has a tub and bathtub, and the cleaners will add cleaning supplies when cleaning every day, which is very considerate. This hotel provides slippers. This is because many hotels in South Africa no longer provide slippers. Not having slippers may be an inconvenience to some people.
In terms of breakfast, the buffet restaurant is on the 6th floor. It seems to take into account the needs of international tourists and has rich food choices. In addition to buffet meals, there is also A La Carte ordering service. The staff are very attentive and I was once asked how the food tastes.

Very large sink with bathtub and shower. The latter very broad. The furniture is modern. Nice pool although not very big, not suitable for swimming. The breakfast buffet was very varied and of good quality and the service was impeccable, both waiters and reception. In fact, they helped me at all times due to a problem that arose outside the hotel. Silent room.||Direct access from the hotel to Sundton Mall. Very comfortable.||A fantastic stay.
A. S.Nice and quiet rooms. The breakfast leaves something to be desired...I expected something else. A huge drawback: the hair dryer is on the table in the room plugged into the wall and cannot be removed from there. And they don't have any mirror to get ready so it's not very practical.

N.I used it regularly on business trips to South Africa. This hotel is conveniently located near the shopping area and Steak Restaurant. Breakfast was provided so I took advantage of it, but the taste was not very good. The rooms are spacious and have good beds.
K. I.It seems to be frequented by Japanese businessmen, and the bellhop, concierge, receptionist, etc. all greeted us in Japanese and said hello and welcome. I don't think it's a new hotel anymore in 2016, but it is clean and has a calm interior that is typical of Intercon. For breakfast, there was also a corner with rice, grilled salmon, and miso soup. ||My room was an executive room on the 26th floor or higher, and it had more than enough equipment, including a door chime with a monitor on the main door of the room, a Nestle coffee machine, a printer, and charging goods. ||In South Africa, we are concerned about safety, but I felt relatively safe inside this hotel.
M. M.I had already been to this hotel five years ago, and overall I was positively impressed. But the years do not pass in vain and today's Intercontinental appears a little aged, like an old, elegant lady who used to be beautiful and who tries to disguise her age with some not always effective make-up.||Let's be clear, it's always about a good standard hotel: but something should be done to keep it up to par with its fierce competitors, because today in Sandton there are many hotels, and all of them have great appeal.||My room was large enough, and the bathroom was commensurate to the rest (with separate shower and tub). The staff is courteous and attentive, but I cannot be satisfied with the service at check-in, where I had to wait an hour to get my room (after a 10-hour night journey!): apparently there had been a misunderstanding.||I didn't have lunch or dinner in the hotel and I only tried the breakfast in the room, of mediocre quality and not up to what we would expect from an Intercontinental.||The hotel has the advantage of being directly connected at Sandton Mall: given that the reason for my business trips to Johannesburg has to do with this mall, I may end up using the Intercontinental again in the future; however, I doubt it can be considered a first choice.||Prices are normal for hotels of this category.
