We took my mum out for Mother's day and even though it was very busy we were still served with 100% attentiveness with our waitress even coming around to tell us how much longer the food would be. Absolutely amazing ambiance, best steak we have ever had and friendliest staff. This will definitely be a regular spot for us!

We had our Christmas lunch, a very nice view I ordered ribs and peri peri wings combo. Ribs were tasty but I received barbeque wings that were over cooked not my preferred sauce, it felt like I wasted my money. I couldn't finish it I asked for a doggy bag and I gave it to the beggars on the street. However those ordered prawns and fish meals they were super excited and said it was delicious 😋

Ordered Sunday lunch, since Lakeside now offers hot meals for takeaway, baked goods, and cappuccinos. Really delicious and filling, and good value for money. The hot food was tightly sealed in, so it didn't spill or get cold by the time I got home. Pictured : Roast Lamb with veggies and mash; table with baked goods; and Butterscotch Chocolate Cake (light, moist, not too much butterscotch). The resident geese are also missing their regular human visitors.

We were welcomed with a smile, from management and staff... The service was amazing, and management and staff went the extra mile as we were there for a special birthday 🎂 The drinks are very reasonable priced and really nice and beautifully presented. Right to the complementary cognac. All I can say is wow! The food is really amazing and really yummy can not have chosen a better venue for our special day 👌

Good haloumi and avo open sandwich on very tasty health bread. Perfect for breakfast with orange juice. June 2020 Update: Lakeside Cafe recently reopened for takeaway food and coffee. I ordered a pie, chips and gravy as well as a cappuccino and both items were good and hot by the time I got them home on the other side of town. Would definitely recommend. June 2021 Update: Locked down again and again Lakeside Cafe offering their wonderful food for takeaway. Had absolutely luscious creamy mustard chicken, grilled fish and veggies, a wonderful bacon and cheese burger and chips, and lasagna and salad, as well as takeaway coffee and cake for pudding. Thank you Lakeside for another delicious meal!

Dropped in for coffee and a scone early one morning (6th July 2017 at around 08:00 to be more precise). Lakeside deserves recognition for being open at this time while the shops of the nearby Midlands Mall mostly remain closed until 09:00, which is largely unhelpful for anyone who has stuff to get done, as was the case for my brother and me. Unfortunately what we needed to get done involved the Midlands Mall so we had to occupy ourselves until the shops opened at 09:00. Lakeside, which is but a stones throw away from the mall, would be the best recommendation for anyone who finds themselves in a similar predicament. In a commercial period rife with false advertising, it should be clarified that Lakeside is not in fact by the side of any lake, but actually an artificial water feature. Any misconceptions of a bucolic surrounding are quickly dispelled by the nearby highway and neighbouring car dealerships. The deck of Lakeside dose extend over this water feature, and seated here one can still watch the ducks and other water fowl swimming between the reeds and plastic litter, which is pleasant enough. Lakeside offers a comprehensive range of menu items for breakfast lunch (I think possibly even dinner) and everything in between. A modest R 28 bought a very handsome muffin and another R 31 bought a very respectable scone with extra cream. The size of these treats, thankfully, was not meagre - a relief for two gents who had not yet eaten a real breakfast. Both were indeed delicious. Real decent coffee is of course expected at any establishment in this day and age, and accordingly your brew will be prepared by the standard esspresso cassette owned by any such self respecting establishment. Based on the surreptitious brand advertising evident on the crockery, umbrellas and signs, the coffee you will receive is Lavazza - regrettably no artisanal locally roasted Terbedore coffee.

The food here is unequivocally absolutely amazing but what I loved about this place are the managers/owners and the staff. They are all incredibly amiable and accommodating. The view simply adds to the aesthetic appeal of this tucked away restaurant. I have been here multiple times and I have never been disappointed with the food or the service!

The Breakfast i had here with friends was amazing. Sat on the deck overlooking the water and it gives a peaceful atmosphere to this place. Very friendly staff. Will certainly go there again soon. Update: 23/08/2022. Went back to Lakeside for first time in years. What a disappoinment this Time around. Ordered the Kipper 95 fish breakfast and the fish was old and dried up and tasted disgusting. Like it's been in freezer for months. I ended up not eating it and only had egg and toast with coffee and left. No apologies from them. Won't go there again. 🥺

Scenery is amazing and it's a lot of fun to feed the ducks and catfish. Service was a little slow but its okay since the food was absolutely delicious and the ambience put me in a very relaxed mood. Our waitress was brilliant.

Cafe-upon-Lake 1. Setting: Lakeside Cafe is not only a cuisine jewel but a surprisingly well situated cafe, with easy access, secured parking, an inviting place. The geese pond at the adjacent lake is a marvel to watch 2. Cuisine: The menu has an array of choice dishes for old and kids. Their food is cooked to the point, perfect, and homely at no waiting time. I had a taste of their "Rack of Lamb" (what a scrumptious, creamy and rich dish with succulent veges). It was heaven. 3. Staff: Very polite, punctual and on point. 4. Prices: Surprisingly affordable, but realistically low. Go and indulge your appetite with a lasting gastronomic experience and you will concur with my review. You won't be sorry. 5 star 🌟. Mxolisi Diyane

It's pretty noisy if you are sitting outside. The N3 highway is close by so the rumble of passing trucks is very intrusive. The food is fresh and the staff attentive. Well worth a visit.
