Reviews of Mesopotamia Kurdish Restaurant
We Celebrated🥂🍾 my friend Bachelorette party!! The staff was very friendly & welcoming and the food was delicious. We were entertained by their belly dancers which was nice. We will definitely be back and try their other dishes. If you want to celebrate any occasion, i would definitely recommend Mesopotamia Kurdish Restaurant.
Traipsing around the CBD after 10pm looking for a venue with an open kitchen (which is almost impossible) my friends and I found our way to Baran's.
As we were a group of seven they kindly kept their kitchen open for us when we arrived at about 10.50pm! We only discovered this much later while we were settling our bill. Apparently they usually close their kitchen around 11pm unless they're busy - in which case they'll remain open to serve customers.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The menu offered a variety of Kurdish fare to suit most diners. The prices were reasonable too. I'd recommend their pizzas and kebabs. Yummy!
Ended up just having cocktails because the ladies toilet was disgusting. Pity, because service was good and sitting on the balcony was really pleasant.
Excellent friendly staff. Lovely food. Toilet is on top floor, lots of steps...
Excellent location beside the market and parge patio. 4 stars only because we had drinks and no food.
An unforgettable experience to be had. Why eat boring old food when you can explore and enjoy a new type of food.
Kurdish food is unique and delicious. Loads of choices on the menu at reasonable prices. Waitrons are really friendly and helpful.
Sitting on cushions on the floor in its own right is an experience! Throw in belly dancers and hookah pipes with the good food, it truely is a receipe for a fun and unforgettable time.
Belly dancers only perform on Friday and Saturday night between 9pm and 10pm, and a R15 charge per head will be added to your bill.
Make sure to make a reservation as it can get full.
Great vibe, delicious food, excellent service. Best hookah pipes in Cape Town.
The waiters/waitress were super nice and spread a good mood so we had a lovely time.
The food was delicious and the waiter even made sure we're getting in the car safely.
Very good experience
Mesopotamia Kurdish Restaurant is a culinary gem. The menu showcases the rich flavors of Kurdish cuisine with dishes like kebabs and pide. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, adorned with traditional decor, adds to the authenticity. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring a memorable dining experience. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. However, it’s advisable to make a reservation, as it can get busy. Despite this, Mesopotamia stands out as a must-visit for those seeking a unique and delicious taste of Kurdish culture in a cozy setting
Chill spot with Amazing food. Can't say enough about this Tavouk Nazik. Holy cow!
My beef casserole was absolutely delicious. Blessing really served our table and will give him a 5 stars. And the entertainment belly dancer was so graceful and beautiful
great food and friendly staff. good prices and portions size is plenty
Super pretty and vibey. Love the music. Fried chicken sandwich is epic!
Excellent alternative to dining out in the Mother City. It is wonderful to experience diverse tastes and cultures in one of the world Top Five cities indeed.
Friendly service with a Chilled ambience and excellent Kurdish dishes 😋 Taking me back to my stay in Istanbul!!!!
Great food and great vibes
Great service @Blessing did the most
WOW Baran's!!! Absolutely amazing, decided to pop in with two other friends and just check the vibe of the entire place, and I was amazed at how great the customer service was from the staff, waiters than weren't even waiting our table came to check and make sure we're good. Was really an amazing experience, especially for someone like myself who loves great customer service as anyone can appreciate, I will definitely recommend Baran's to anyone from all over as it was beyond AMAZING, endless possibilities. #10outa10
Perfect for any setting, from work dinners to romantic evenings. The food was amazing and the service was tops. Will definitely be going back soon to try out the main meals. We got stuck on the starters. :)
Had some drinks and frys that was nice and crunchy with a Oka pipe which was great.
Will be back to try more of the menu as it has a awesome vibe and they have been around for quite some time.
An authentic Kurdish experience in Cape Town. The ambience and music was realistic. The belly dancer added great value to the experience. We enjoyed the middle-eastern cuisine.
The rest room could do with some refurbishment, though.
Food was amazing and very friendly staff. My new best place to go to in Cape town for Lunch and Dinner...!!😋
Corner Café with outside tables from where you can watch the comings and goings in and around the historic Greenmarket Square. Great coffee and a good menu. It and the neighbouring cafe are both owned by a Turkish Kurd and the managers are also Kurdish. Fits right into Cape Town's cosmopolitan nature. Great spot.
My wife & I go to Mesopotamia fairly regularly as it was the location of our first date. The food is amazing - there's a great variety of chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes that range from entirely mild to very spicy - and it is offered in small starter portions as well as proper-sized main meals (all cooked in a traditional tandoor oven).
The atmosphere is unique and makes for a great dining experience - they have belly dancers to entertain you during the evening, which makes for something very different to your usual restaurant. They also have cigars and hookah pipes that you can buy and use respectively, but we've never taken them up on that.
It is a little pricey unfortunately - the most recent trip to the restaurent for the two of is cost R410 altogether (including service charge). The price is what stops us going there more often, but as a location for a special evening out, it's just perfect.
It was nice i used to dance there. I liked it but new manager now so i won't go back. Previous manager had great food.
We had so much fun the belly dancer was great, she really made our night. Besides that excitement the food was tasty, treaty and a splendour to the eyes and tongue
Such a good experience. The food is amazing and well priced. I am definately visiting again
Best food !! And excellent service. This has to be the ultimate chillout spot if you want to have a chat with friends or family and have a tasty unique meal.
Service good , food typically Kurdish. Ambiance pleasant and whenever I have visited, there has been a Belly dancer as entertainment after 9pm.
Had a late lunch of delicious King Prawns. Very cosy place, love the decor. We sat on authentic cushions with candle light
Warm atmosphere, excellent service, a feeling of being home and being treated!!
Good shisha. The staff is excellent and courteous. There is seating available inside and outside of the restaurants. The food is decently priced and is very tasteful.
This place never disappoints... Staff is always friendly and shisha is worth it in terms of their pricing and quality.
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, nice with a big group of people. We went for the belly dance show but the dancer never showed up on the night
Very good food and enthousiastic people! If you like to eat good traditional food go to this place!
The sheesha (hooka) is okay and not that great. I've had better. But what's nice is the place and comfort. It's not crowded and relaxing.
The place was cool but a bit too empty. The shisha was ok, but there was only one server and the service was kind of slow. Overall an ok experience.
Nice meal
An excellent Lebanese restaurant in Green market Square which also serves sheesha. Food is decent and service is good. They also have outdoor seating
Kurdish restaurant, great for gatherings, they offer mezzes and hookah pipe. Relaxing atmosphere with great music located in the city hub
Stepped into Mesopotamia to avoid a thundershower and really enjoyed the experience! The outside balcony is a great spot to sample the fantastic food.
A dining and entertainment venue in the Cape Town CBD.
Outstanding cuisine....
Exquisite entertainment.....
An enjoyable experience......
Great spot with great Turkish pizza and hookah.
Baran Abe ji Amed slaw.
You Are Amazing.
Hidden gem in the mother city. Delicious meze, great service and shisha. A must visit when in Cape Town
It's a good spot for a quick meal, not to sit to long
Relaxed atmosphere. Food was great, decor superb, friendly hosts, good service.
Was lovely my first time there nice relaxing atmosphere Wayne Mckay show was fab
lovely themed restaurant with live entertainment. there is a seated area for the less adventurous.
Food was good. Portion is small for the price tho.
One of my favorites for the last 10 years and everything has just gotten better
Authentic Kurdish food. Thank you.
Live music, great atmosphere
Very friendly atmosphere with nice kurdish/mezopotamian food
Good house and just relaxation. Good to bring a friend or two.
Great food...wonderful belly dances show...
Friendly staff.
It's been really nice the belly dancing
Good food, decor and environment
Delightful coffee, especially enjoyable in coldish weather sitting outside ...
Friendly and good coffee
Awesome vibe
A Kurdish restaurant with a nice atmosphere
The food is delicious
Cheddar cheesecake is delicious
The meat pie is delicious, but the meat is in large pieces, and if it were minced, it would be better.
Lentil soup is strange but delicious
The drawback was that some of the dishes were dirty
And potatoes
And 3 cola and a can of water
Approximately the account was 445 rand
Approximately 97 Saudi Riyals in Saudi Riyals
We were looking for seafood and we found a tasty dish of fish and squid with some chips and some cold local beers... Excellent service from the waiter...
A beautiful cafe. I enjoyed sitting in it
I ordered a cappuccino and dessert. I ordered a file with ice cream (very delicious)
I will return to him, God willing
Nice restaurant in the Greenmarket district. I ate a dish called "kebab", but it doesn't look like a kebab in France. It’s beef, well cooked, with rice and fries. Very good, and friendly service
It is worth a visit for the honesty, respectful treatment and very wonderful food. I recommend it
A taste and texture from our hometown. Brewed tea, thin glass, 15 dice. Friendly staff, no-nonsense questions.
The ambience is very convincing with the Mesopotamian style. The service was also very nice, friendly and accommodating. Kurdish food is very tasty and diverse. Overall only recommended.
Varied and quality cuisine. Very pleasant atmosphere. Delicious pizzas. Significantly raises the level of the neighborhood
Breeze from us in Cape Town. Lamb meat pita with kashar is legendary
