Reviews of Malay Kitchen
Excellent service! It is such a pleasure to have breakfast at Malay Kitchen 🙂 The staff and management welcomed us with a smile and also very friendly. We had breakfast for my Mom's Birthday and she enjoyed their food which i better than my breakfast I prepare at home lol 😆 And a Big Thanks to Management (Anwar) for the Yummy-Licious ice-cream Waffle he gave Mom on the house, we do appreciate it alot for making Mom's Birthday extra special! I would definetly recommend my Family and Friends to pop in there and I am definetly looking forward to going back to have my Lunch there too.
Excellent Service and food...I wanted to go back the next day. The Staff is super friendly they make you feel at home. I will definitely recommend all family and friends.
Pleasant little restaurant ... my wife and I decided to try something different so we opted in for their two breakfast specials at R45 and R55 each and we were very happy with our meals ... especially my wife who LOVES salmon ... thank you very much ... we will come again

It was my first time there and I really loved it, the food was delicious and the waitress Qiswa (hope I've spelt it correctly) was so sweet and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.♥️
Wonderful service, delicious Cape Malay meals and drinks, cosy atmosphere. Give them a try! 😋
Went as a couple on Valentine's day.
Food was excellent same with the service which was outstanding.
Thank you will definitely bring the whole family next time.the extended invitation by our waiter.
Feels at home, love the background music, served professional and with enthusiasm. Love the decorations. Haven't disappointed me in food.
Looking for something to eat and always willing to try new restaurants, Malay Kitchen didn't disappoint.
The staff were super friendly although still a bit "green" could explain or give their opinion on a few of the items I enquired about.
Although the restaurant wasn't packed, there was a steady flow of people entering and leaving the restaurant. However I couldn't find our wait or when I actually needed her.
The host however was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the restaurant and was much more attentive and aware of the customers needs.
The food..... My gosh, the food. Was amazing. Albeit my wife and I only had burgers and chips. My wife is NOT a fast food kinda person. This time though, the "eet agter die bak" burger was inducted to the "clean plate club". Definitely a testiment to how good it was.
Personally I opted for the masala steak burger. This burger was spiced beautifully (spicy and just a touch of heat that got a little bead of sweat roll down). The steak was extremely tender and almost melted in the mouth.
Both meals came with a side of chips that didn't disappoint either.
Trying out their range of mocktails, I tried the Tramma Kassie and personally I would have preferred to have a dash more coconut cream as it was much too icy rather than creamy.
Overall the venue, the food and the service was good. We will definitely be visiting the Malay Kitchen again.
Shukran for a lekker meal Anwar.
Welcomed by a lovely gentleman. Anwar. He ensured we could enjoy breakfast after the scheduled cutoff time. Loved the art on the wall. Coffee was warm and strong, meal was tasty, waffles were crispy and the ice cream devine. Would recommend this place to all . Perks of savouries on the go in front adds another dimension to the restaurant. :)
My wife and I had the Kombuis (Chicken) Burger and the mutton curry with Roti. We throughly enjoyed both dishes. Anwar paid lots of attention to us and shared his experiences of living Cape Town. We felt like we were in his home enjoying his hospitality. Thank you Anwar and your staff for a pleasant evening.
Nostalgia... traditional Cape Malay flavours and dishes....the staff/owner/manager was super knowledgeable and all his recommendations was spot on, we had mutton curry, roti, fish cake (so so fulling), cheese cake strawberry milkshake, savory assorted...the atmosphere is warm and welcoming...I highly recommend this place to visit
Great service BUT their portion sizes for the amount of money spent especially the chips doesn't make any sense. The masala steak sandwich is great.
Had the most pleasant service from the guy that helped us. We were treated like we belong there. It's really a place I'll go back to again for their service and good food.
We were served by Anwaar who offered the best customer service. The food was amazing, highly recommended. We will be back ;)
Stopped by at the spur of the moment looking for something sweet on the way home. Only got a few koesisters and they were truly done of the best I’ve had.
Absolutely fantastic service with great tasty food! Lowkey an experience to come here and very comfortable. 😁 Well done!
Service was brilliant and so was the food. Well priced too, will definitely be back!
Everyone was so friendly and welcoming ! The food is amazing 👏
I tried the steak sandwich it was very delicious.
They should use a thicker bread slice
I tried the butter chicken pasta. Though it was a really nice meal, I think it was overpriced.
Wonderful atmosphere and decor, amazing food and friendly staff.
Very friendly staff and cosy place to dine.
