The place was nice. Nice chilled music on the background. It’s also very cosy as there are sofas. I had Bacon Nachos and virgin strawberry daiquiri. My nachos topping were really nice, nichos themselves were not crunchy enough but it was good nonetheless. My daiquiri was really sweet and the waitress managed to dilute it and blend in more ice which was so nice of her. Second time here and will definitely be back soon.

Our family visited the Bistro for lunch. The hospitality was great.we felt very welcomed and comfortable. The ambiance was terrific and we enjoyed just admiring the decor. However,the real plus point for me was the the brilliant food. We ordered different dishes to taste different flavors and we were very impressed by the quality and preparation techniques used. Food seemed to be lovingly made with all the trappings to create a sensory experience. All of us,without exception enjoyed our meals and exotic desserts. Our waiters were also very helpful and professional.

This place was so amazing I was very impressed with their hospitality. The service we received was amazing and what I loved at the place is that everyone is kind and the cleanliness oh my goodness I was impressed. The food on the other hand was out of this world, the recommendation I got from the waiter was exactly what I received and it tasted amazing. I will be definitely coming to this restaurant more often.. If you thinking of going here I'd definitely recommend you to so do you will not regret yourself. I was extremely impressed. So I finally got to try out this restaurant today. It was amazing,the atmosphere,the food,the service. We were served by Zama, very sweet girl. I was with my husband and my 9 months old baby and Zama kindly offered us a baby chair for our baby and I really appreciated that because we were able to eat comfortably while our baby was in their on chair. Definitely looking forward to coming back to this restaurant, really loved it.

This place is absolute heaven. The food is a solid 10/10. Customer service is just as good. The drinks are sooo good. It lives up to its reputation. It's definitely a place worth traveling for. Thank you to Wandile for making our experience pleasant.

Overall good experience with few vegetarian options on the menu. We started with jalapeño poppers - which was was very tasty (perhaps not as hot a popper as I would have liked but definitely very cheesy) For the mains my partner had a veggie burger, the patty was really nice and crunchy, however I think adding some salsa and sauce would have spiced it up nicely as it was a bit on the bland side. I had the vegetable soup, which was very deliciously hearty and spicy. Unfortunately the portion size was a bit small - expected for the price point. With limited veg. Options it was a bit small as a lunch portion and served better as a starter. Overall good experience, the place has a great vibe (and AC - always a relief from the Durban hot weather) and friendly service. Overall verdict: with limited veg options have a unique flavor profile, might give this one a miss next time.

Quite an interesting experience. Decor seems a little confused but has mid century vibe. The staff are some of the best trained I’ve seen and we were checked on by the managers twice. The food was overall good but nothing to rave about. The juicy lucy burger sadly wasn’t authentic at all and the mash was quite gross

Had the Valentines day set menu and all I can say is WOW! . The créme brulée was the best I ever had, the steak with Dijon mustard sauce was cooked to perfection and the cut of meat was excellent. The pork bomb starter and the beef phyllo pastry was absolutely tasty. I would give this place 10 stars if I could because 5 stars isn't enough.

Causal restaurant for Sunday dinner. Group of 4. Fabulous carefree time without the kids. Meals were well prepared. Don't try the pastas as it was average. Their steaks were done to perfection. Their calamari starter portion was generous and delicious. Hubby had the Prawn and fish curry which was average. Good night out.

Great staff and felt welcome. Ordered the tomato, chorizo and bean soup as a starter. Was decent but overwhelmed by intense sweetness. The hotdogs are a bit underwhelming as it was a regular dog such as what one would find at supermarket although the bun was nice - cost 90 rand. The Cuban sandwich is not what one expects it has sort of South African fusion to it and was a bit spicy but not in a hot way. Overall a bit disappointing.

The chosen Craft beer on tap was not available but the waitron explained fully why not. Managers & waiting staff extremely attentive. Many options o the menu to choose from. Interesting take on American meals... Huge portions.... My Tomahawk steak was brilliant... That marrow bone was incredible. Smart atmosphere.... Was extremely busy when we were there. Great courtesy from the staff and the chef made sure that the patrons were satisfied.

The best tasting burgers in KZN. The food options at this establishment are abundant. The menu is diverse and has an abundance of unique and diverse items. The service stuff are friendly but a little slow but the food is so good that it almost makes up for the slow service.

The breakfast I had was amazing (Pancakes with smoke back bacon) super fluffy pancakes and can recommend , my only slight negative was that the mix was initially sold out, but a minute later the manager told me they found some and man was it worth the wait! Will try them again some time.

When you stay in Pinetown there isn't many places that are fancy and affordable. Best place for a date night, a celebration and even a business meeting. The Voodoo wings are my favorite together with their Gin on tap. The service is okay, have had 2 not so great encounters with the same waiter but other than that it is a nice place. It has become quite popular so I prefer going there during the week or Sunday afternoon. By the way, the milkshakes are also good.

Today was 2nd time I ate here. Starting with a decadent chocolate brownie milkshake, then changing pace with their voodoo spicy chicken wings(sweat) and then moving on to an amazingly soft, melt in the mouth rate steak. All of it ended of with a perfect Cortado. If you have not eaten here you are doing yourself a disservice. 15/01/2021 I have now eaten here about 12 times and I can honestly say the service is top notice and the steak is if not the best then one of the best you can have. I have had every steak on their menu and it was always done perfectly. Even the non steak dishes I have tried was great and they make a mean Cortado.

Went for a friends 35th. Had a waiter called Jet. He is amazing. On the ball and so friendly. The food was well presented and tasty. I didn't enjoy the lemon sorbet as dessert but maybe I was too full. The ambiance is perfect for a dinner party. They allow own decor and help with taking pics. I was amazed at their hospitality.

1904 used to be my favourite restaurant. Unfortunately, with the pandemic, I haven't been able to visit as often as I'd like. Last night was the first time I visited this year. The last time I was there was last September and they were brilliant then. I am a creature of habit and usually order the same things... The Louisiana Prawns and a medium Rib Eye Steak. Last night's prawns were good but the steak was too well done (actually powdery and the outside tasted burnt). 2 of the other steaks on the table were also too well done but we only returned mine and my hubby's. The second attempt at the steaks were even worse. We were unable to get even 3 bites out of it before we cut into a piece that was totally inedible - this fatty piece made up two thirds of the entire piece. I didn't complain again as I was just very disappointed. The staff were very apologetic and friendly (service constitutes the 3 stars I've awarded but quality of food was awful.) They offered free dessert to make up for it but the dessert (panacotta something) was completely tasteless and ruined an already awful meal. I felt like I lost a good friend leaving there last night. I had previously recommended 1904 to many many ppl and it has been my favourite go-to restaurant but after the dismal quality of food last night, it will be a long time before I return or recommend it again.

Celebrated my birthday here and wow, what a lovely evening. Everything was amazing - from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere and general vibe of the restaurant. We were a group of 10 and nobody had any complaints about their food whatsoever. They brought me ice cream with a sparkler and wished me for my birthday which I thought was really thoughtful and they allowed me to bring in my own cake. Will definitely be back as there is so much on the menu I still want to try!! Thank you 1904 🙏🤩

I recently dined at 1904 Bistro Americain for our year-end company lunch after receiving a recommendation from a relative. What a great recommendation it turned out to be! The restaurant was really busy, as can be expected in December, but the management and staff were incredibly attentive and obliging. We ordered several starters, mains and deserts and every item arrived exactly as requested. The menu is extensive and food quality was absolutely outstanding. I will definitely be back soon.

It's a good dining experience to have with your friends, especially if you're all just catching up. The waiters are very attentive without being overbearing and the chef even has time to come around and ask how you're enjoying your meal, which I appreciate. This was my first time dining in Kloof. Nice restuarant. Great concept. Lots of potential. I imagined it being like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so my expectations of American food were smoked meat, hearty portions, rich, tasty food. We ordered milkshakes first - they were sensational. The milkshakes will rock your world and come as advertised. The menu is extensive - perhaps too big for the style of restaurant in my opinion. Why have curry on an American food menu??? Anyway. We had the ribs, pulled brisket and wings. Across the board, no flavour. All we could get was sweetness from the basting but the meat itself lacked seasoning. Pity. Salt and spice on the meat, overnight, would have resulted in a tasty meal. We had chocolate cake for dessert. It was ok, moist. Try add coffee to the mix and make frosting from scratch with cream cheese. Service was disappointing. Our waiter forgot about us it seemed. All in all, not a bad place for a day out. It’s busy, has a nice ambience.

I love this restaurant as an idea and the types of food you can get. I always have the same thing to say and it truly never disappoints. They do need to possibly have more vegetarian options though.
