I visited the Rock for my birthday this year and even though it was raining and everything seemed a but dull. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The waitress, Sakhile, made my entire time there so special. She took time to listen to us, she offered to take pictures, she was so willing to explain everything. I feel like wherever you go, service will always stand out in comparison to everything else and that's what I experienced here. Thank you The Rock but more importantly, Thank you Sakhile!!!

The place is easy to go to using GPS The food was 8/10, and I couldn't finish the rack of Ribs 1kg cause I had to return it back because it was not warm Drinks 🍸 pricey for the limitations wish to add more I wish the waiter would loosen up interms of personality, unlike working like she is forced Overall, 9/10 would definitely go back again

Went here with my friend and had a blast. The restaurant is very cozy and chill. The vibe is definitely better once it gets late. The food was good, but the portion sizes are a bit small. The only issue I had was that our waitress was not friendly and made the experience a bit less awesome.

I'm honestly appalled, I called in the morning to book for my husband's birthday lunch and I was told you don't take bookings to just walk in. I arrived with my husband and wanted to sit on the table by the astro turf grass and was told that it its booked. In fact, the entire artificial grass seating area was "booked". Njani when I was told to just walk in 🤔 No problem. We sit, eat and watch as people arrive asking if they can sit by the "booked" seating area?! That's how I know that some of the people seated there did not book. Impact, 4 hours later the very table that we wanted to sit on and was told it is booked IS STILL EMPTY 🤯🤯🤯 Attached pic as proof. If only I was white... Shout out to Sammy though she was amazing attending to our table 👏 🙌

The place is welcoming and amazing. The service is efficient and the menu is accommodative, even for vegans.

Great food and huge portions. Great value for money. The smoking area can be improved as it is situated right in front on the toilets which is quite unpleasant. Air conditioning required for indoor seating.

The atmosphere is good. The seats are however too close for my comfort, I could hear conversations. The california rolls are mostly rice, very little avo and fish. The kingklip is good, but the sirloin steak was such a disappointment 😞. It was hard, i asked for medium and it came well done😢😅. Cant believe i paid 1000 rand and 100 in tip for what i got. It was not value for money in my opinion. The waiters kept coming to our table to take ketchup and sauces, its like they had very few and all customers needed the sauces. It was making me feel uncomfortable, cause I was being rushed to use it so that the next customer could have thrir turn.. gosh.

Your hostess Tshidi is very rude.we had asked for the waiter serving us to move to the next table since the patrons were leaving. While waiting for it to be cleaned she allocated it to other patrons while we made it clear we’re being moved there, but she just gave us the middle finger and went on to give them the table. She went on to talk about how customers feel entitled and trashed talked us with her patrons while we could hear her. This was not my first encounter with her. She’s rude & unprofessional. 👎👎👎

Look and feel 8/10: I think the 2 goes to the downside that the toilets are outside and doesn't feel safe, we visited on a rainy evening so this setup was not ideal. Food: 8/10 loved their seafood pasta. Service: 8/10 the waiter was professional, polite and on point. I would return for lunch or breakfast on a good summer's day

We were there tonight 07/08/2022, celebrating our baby sister's s16th birthday. The service is excellent, we had a great waiter by the name of Martin. He is such an amazing soul who offered us a splendid service 🙏🏾 Matt who gave us a little 'history'on the resturant , so interesting. The staff there is super is so warm, and very attentive to their visitors needs. The food was delicious I rate the service 5stars! It's a great place to go out with the girls or gents.

The service was absolutely magnificent. The waiter Matthew Marais was extremely professional and treated me like a queen. The barman Knowledge Cnyoro Chitongo gave me the best experience, personalized cocktails. The drinks were absolutely amazing. I cannot fault them on anything. I literally did not want to leave. Don't know where to start, this was our anniversary destination and from start to finish Matt and the team took care of us. Even though it was raining and cold we asked to sit outside, Ben, our waiter then organized a special spot for us outside out of the rain with a candle, Matt the manager actually brought us duvets to keep us warm. All the food was to die for, from sushi as starters to mains and to top it off Matt surprised us with their delicious cheesecake tacos as a anniversary gift. Thank you Matt and team for making the day special.

Started off with a shared Caeser salad which settled the hunger pains after a hectic Black Friday, negotiating Gauteng's crazy traffic in a constant downpour. The Excalibur was excellent for mains. Even yummy enough to want to take the small remaining amount i just could not manage to finish, home for lunch tomorrow. Once again Knowledge, barman extraordinaire, put together a gin cocktail from my vague discription of citrussy flavours gin and some sour fruit. It was muddled basil and a valencia based gin, some lemony notes with a hint of blueberry, topped up with limoncello and bubbles. Head is still spinning but in a most satisfactory way. All the flavours i wanted and way more than i needed. Luckily i was not the DD tonight. The Rock is always special, even if just to watch the passing parade. Staff are attentive but not obtrusive. Will definitely be back soon as long as The dreaded C-Lockdown doesn't interfere. However I have inside information that The Rock team can adapt so takeaways will always be a good option especially for patrons who live nearby. The rest of us out of towners will just have to hope that the new C19 varient is the ultra weakling cousin and will soon fizzle.out. Well done to a restaurant team that are just that, a team that work together seemlessly. You are all stars.
