One of the best restaurants in Fourways. The atmosphere had this smooth ambience and service was swift. As for the food, outstanding. I had lamb and I must say it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The steak too was succulent. Keep up the good work. I highly recommend especially for evenings.

I throughly enjoyed the main meal which was the chicken creamy pasta and the blueberry baked cheesecake dessert. I could taste the freshness of ingredients used to prepare the meal.Chef did a great amazing job preparing the food and presenting the food. The Waitress was extremely friendly and jovial. She Maintained high standards of customer service during  peak times. Will definitely be back:)

I had my Surprise Baby Shower there 🤩🤩 Oh it was beautiful. If you're looking to have a planned event there I'd say definitely go for it. The food is delicious, generous portions and the desserts are delicate, beautifully plated and exquisite! Thank you to the team for making my day extra special!

A nice restaurant to have quality time with great music. You can dine and converse in peace, the volume of the music makes that very easy as it doesn't overpower you. The food is of good quality and the service is outstanding. Highly recommended for a romantic seating or business meeting.

It's such an amazing place. Eugene is the best waiter I had, the food is amazing too. It's actually cheap compared to other restaurants so if you celebrating a graduation party or anything along those lines, you better go to The Rock. Has the best spot for pictures and there's also an artist outside who plays music on his guitar

It was my second time at this restaurant. My first experience was not a good one and the manager gave me a voucher in a attempt to rectify my bad experience. This was my partners first experience. I ordered a motjito and it was a bit to sweet and required more lime. I did not send it back I requested some lime pieces. As a starter we requested squid heads, we were very grateful that we were allowed to order squid head as a starter which is not part of the menu. We did not want the squid head with peanuts. The squid heads were amazing and my partner and I have both agreed that The Rock serve the best squid head we have ever had (and we wine and dine out quite often). My first time here I had come in the afternoon and I had the squid head as a starter and it was delicious. For my main I had surf and turf (steak and prawns). I requested my steak to be medium to rare. My prawns were delicious, flavor was on point and cooked to perfection but my steak was bland and over cooked and dry. My salad was fresh and I really love their salad dressing, it is perfect. The manager came to apologize and agreed the steak was very dry. The kitchen had just closed but he agreed to have another steak made. My second steak was to rare and some seasoning had been thrown on the steak and not cooked in hence the steak was to rare. I could not eat it. I was a bit disappointed but I understand as the kitchen staff were in a hurry to go home. The waiter did advise us to "not put our order through to late as the kitchen tend to rush and he wanted us to have a great experienceto make up for my previous experience." My partner ordered "the rack of lamb" which is generally means a minimum 6chops but he received three skinny chops. This is misleading and this meal should not be advertised as a "rack of lamb" and rather as (lamb chops). My partner had the same issue with his chops (not being seasoned), he did not complain as he was hungry and did not want to send the chops back. I don't think R199 is good value for money for this particular meal. If the three chops were decent sized chops, yes. We were very happy with our waiter Patrick, he provided us with excellent service, the managers were friendly. The restaurant is in a great location and has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. I am not sure if I have been unfortunate on two separate occasions with my steak and whether or not their specialty is not red meat? I know their prawns and squid heads are incredible. I think their seafood could be their specialty. We ordered a chicken burger as a take away for my dad. He chose vegetables instead of chips and the carrots were so thick and a few were burnt

lovely place, great energy , service has greatly improved, the staff more responsive, they are very friendly but I think they get overwhelmed sometimes with many clients. their ribs are saculent. If you want to host a birthday, if you want to just have a great time and chill with positive energy around , that's your place to be. Oh wait I think they make some of the best cocktails in Johannesburg. Try their Pina colada and you will thank me later.

This restaurant is incredibly beautiful, I wish we had been told upstairs was a smoking area when i made the reservation because I really looked forward to sitting up there, however i was definitely not disappointed by the scene. The food was to die for, the prawn pasta i had was one of my top favorite, very flavourful and clearly made with a delicate bisque that wasn’t overpowering, definitely fresh and vibrant flavors. Their portion sizes are very generous, I struggled to finish at least half of my pasta which was perfectly made (you would’ve thought it was freshly made pasta). Their nachos were very delicious, and apparently their peri livers were divine. The ambience was beautiful and the fresh warm towels after your meal are the perfect touch to an already impressive restaurant. Their menu is quite wide and although they cater to everyone, they don’t compromise on quality whatsoever. I highly recommend this for an evening out, we went here for my parents anniversary, on the 9th of August, also being a public holiday. Our waiter, Pritchard, was incredibly kind and happily organized a personalized celebratory plate to congratulate my parents. The resturant has a very rustic train station feel to it, warm and comfy, very friendly and willing to help staff, comfy tables and chairs indoor and outdoor sections open and closed, big screen tv we watched the world cup game on outside. The menu's are full of Mediterranean offerings as well as lots of drink options I went for the craft beer and was pleasantly surprised, the food came out at the same time considering we had a table of 14 people, the pizza that I had was absolutely amazing and so was everything else I tried of everybody else's ranging from a salad to pasta. The prices are very reasonable and I will be going back there more often.

I absolutely love this place. It is beautiful, cozy and they serve some amazing food everytime I come here 😋 Great happy "hour"... It lasts from 4pm-7pm which is amazing because you get good quality cocktails (not just watered down drinks) for a longer period. Awesome service from the waiters and waitresses. I also love the live sessions they have, great way to spend date night. Now I must just trial their private dining room :)

Best food I’ve ever had. From the main to the dessert, everything tasted sumptuous and the food presentation was amazing. The vibe is awesome and the place is very clean and beautiful. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, but the service was slower than expected. Had to wait nearly 30 minutes for a simple lunch menu even though the restaurant was not packed, which was a bit frustrating. Decent flavors, but quicker service would make a big difference.

Our meals were delicious and our waiter was professional. Friendly staff. Variety of home made ice creams too. Outside had lovely heaters that gave a cosy atmosphere. Inside loved the huge painting on the wall and the lighting on the staircase. Lovely spot for memorable photos! The meal was ended in style with hot chocolate being poured over the chocolate sphere we ordered and so enjoyed watching it melt to reveal its hidden center!

Why 5 stars when it should be 4? Restaurant facilities, tables, furniture, chairs, cutlery, and crockery 100%...layout and spacial 100% food (which is 80% customer service 110%) its rare to get good service with a meal to match... Yes it's rare, as in my medium rare steak was perfect, I don't use that word likely...its rare. 1 blip, they took almost an hour to bring my daughters milkshake - why doesn't that take them down to 4 star? Because we are human, we are not built to be perfect, the waiter explained what happened, he forgot, admitted to his error and rectified it in minutes, blushed and our table of 8 forgave him. He did a great job, he's service wasn't 100% it was 110%. That's why it gets the full 5 stars.

Went in for lunch today and really enjoyed the food. The chips are amongst the best I have ever eaten. Had the hake and calamari and it was superb. Would have preferred tartar sauce to the quite bland lemon butter but that is a minor quibble in a really good dish. Good service and will be back.

Exceptional service and a great atmosphere. I ordered the Excalibur and my wife ordered the half rack of ribs. Truly amazing. The desserts are out of this world. I’m not one for pink drinks but the grapefruit and olive daiquiri is very refreshing. Thanks guys for a great dining experience.

What an impressive restaurant. The food was exquisite. From starters to desert and very reasonably priced for what you get. The service, beyond excellent. Sbue was such an excellent waiter as well. The Rock has always been one of my best picks for that awesome lunch or dinner outing when you don't want the busy Sandton life. Great cuisine and good choices of wines. I went to The Rock Design Quarter for my birthday and it was amazing. Their portions are big and our waiter Lolo was professional, quick and gave us exceptional service. My only problem was that it was cold and we were seated outside after booking in advance I expected to be seated inside.

Wow, the food is great! The restaurant is beautiful with modern and trendy finishes that are also warm and inviting. The upstairs area can be booked for private functions. This place doubles up as the prefect meet up spot for friends or romantic setting for a loved one. The service is as excellent as the food.

The Rock is normally a great spot to go to. However of late the service has been below standard. The waiter we had didn't bother much about us - giving us the menu and never coming back. And also after having our main he just never came back until we had to ask for a dessert menu.
