Although the atmosphere was joyless because of some hostile employees, but the lady who assisted me was a lot of help because I was buying food for a group and she advised me on their specials and what to actually get which was enough for my people AND I spent less money than I intended to! #ClapsHands#

I wouldn’t call myself a Food Connoisseur but you can believe me when I say I know good food when I taste it. The food at this KFC was probably the best I’ve tried at any of their branches in recent memory. They served us with a smile. Answered all our questions and most importantly - they listened. Now while I have your attention, I want you to listen to what I’m about to say because it’s easily the best tip I can give you for almost any Fast Food joint. Ask them in the nicest possible way: “Please make my food fresh”. This is key - fast food doesn’t have to be fast. Good food takes time. And if you’re willing to wait a bit extra, you will thank yourself. I asked them to make me two Fresh zinger burgers with extra sauce and no tomato (a winning combination which I can recommend over and over again). They executed it to perfection, even if it took 10 minutes extra. It was the tastiest thing I’d eaten all week and worth the extra run I had to endure to cancel out those added calories. I had steam coming out of my nose when I took a bite. That’s when you know. In fact, on my second Zinger burger which I ate 15 minutes later, I was still experiencing the same level of steam - that’s the power of fresh fast food. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside - and it was sizable. I ordered on the app so I saved a bit of money as well, I felt like I was stealing from KFC with how good everything was. (Another pro tip for those who have read this far - use the app for those deals) Thinking about it is making me want to drive that extra 30 minutes and do it all over again. But let me control myself and finish this review. You know the food is good when you’re busy eating and you’re thinking about the 5 stars you’re giving the place after you’re done. I would say this burger was potentially life changing in a sense that I will not accept anything inferior in quality - which in a way is a curse because I don’t know if many KFCs can deliver on that sort of level. At the same time, I’m blessed to have experienced that and as silly as this will sound (and I promise I’m not being sarcastic) this was a culinary journey - it’s simply the simple things. Thank you to KFC Marlboro Gardens for giving me faith in the Fast Food industry, I will definitely be back here when I’m in the area again and I will definitely use you as the Gold standard for KFCs around the country. “Make it like how they make it in Marlboro” Keep up the great service and food.

Visited for lunch after a tourist bike tour through Alexandra township. It's the first KFC store I've seen with the counters behind bulletproof glass! Guess it's necessary but I didn't feel safety was an issue in the area. Service and food were excellent, just what I had expected and needed. Marlboro train station at walking distance.
