Love it. Traditional Fish & Chips done right 💯 Fish is fresh, tasty batter for deep fried fish and delicious grilled fish. Perfectly cooked slap chips. Never thought I'd find such good Fish n Chips inland. Perfect portion to fill you up. Just wow. 20 Stars!

As an ex-Capetonian, many have been telling me about this place and OMG. I felt like I just went to a fisheries in Fishoek in Cape Town or even Kalkies in Kalk Bay. The calamari was next level, the small portion of chips was NOT small and the grilled hake went down beautifully. I even tried the mushy peas, which were devine. I even used the hake skin and mixed it with the mush and went silent as the flavors drooled all over my mouth. Great addition to Johanneaburg North. Definitely visiting again.

We visited this place last night (21/8/23), after searching and looking for a place that sells proper fish and chips...we came across Fish Hook. The name alone says it all, being from CT and missing some fried fish, this is as close to home as ever. We ordered 2 medium hake and chips parcels, my husband opted for more chips, but their portions are huge enough. We had calamari with it as well, delicious, and fried to perfection, still nice and soft inside. I would highly recommend this place, 👌🏻 I didn't get the lady's ( the owner) name, but you guys are doing an amazing job! Oh, and get the mushy peas too, its amazing. P.S. well definitely be back soon!

Great fish and one of the greatest fries you'll ever taste. The sizes are the truest in the market. Large is laaaarge! Been there twice. R260 on food that fed 3 adults and 4 kids

It's always a pleasure to be served at Fish Hook and the meal is excellent. Portions are super generous, so take the advice of the server, on what portion is good for you. We normally take 1x small chips to serve 2 people.

I had read a couple of reviews of this establishment and decided to make a turn. We ordered the meal for two, served the old fashioned way (wrapped in paper) and came with two excellent pieces of battered hake, a portion of possibly the best calamari I have ever had, some Coleslaw and a very generous portion of great fresh old fashioned slap chips. For around 200 bucks for food and drink for two people - not only was it value for money, but it was of fantastic quality. Thank you, Fish Hook, you have gained yourself two new fans.

Love this place and it's location is closer for me than the location in Randburg. Same chain (I asked), same great fish n chips and same huge portions! I always recommend to friends. There's something about the lady's friendliness who works there though.... Don't get me wrong, she's lovely and they're all so helpful. But its just not the same as the grumpy uncle at the Randburg location. He's such a vibe. 😂

I haven't had fish and chips this good since I moved to Joburg. If there was anything left to photograph, I'd share them. The sides are delicious too and the portions, on everything the restaurant prepares, are very generous.
