My friend and I chose this restaurant to close-off our year as we will be going home for the festive season💕. I must say, we thoroughly enjoyed our time together here. The food: DELECTABLE 😋. The cocktails: TASTY AND REFRESHING. This is a pleasant atmosphere, very subtle and relaxing. For starters we had Trio Oysters which were fresh and tasted like the ocean☺️. Mains (which we devoured ) we had the Seafood Linguini and pork belly. We gave compliments to the chef!🤌🏼👌🏼. We went on a cocktail spree and we enjoyed each of them.

Such a great experience. Food, service, decor, environment.. on point. The bread they brought us as an appetizer was really good too. The cocktails were fantastic. I look forward to returning. I would definitely recommend.

Celebrating my wife’s 29th birthday was nothing short of remarkable as this restaurant lived up to all the hype. Having spent some money one has to realise that it is the experience that you are paying for. Having said that I would go back to this place in a heartbeat as the food matches the prices. There is an extensive wine menu and a number of seating options. Ideal for winter evenings.

Upon arrival the reception was welcoming, service was top class and the food was just simply amazing, every bite was tasteful, no added preservatives needed. The food was cooked to perfection. Atmosphere got a 4 star because the music was a little unsettling.

Went for a birthday treat and really loved the food choice we made although the menu was a little wanting - no octopus dishes and the wine list also didn’t have what we wanted either. That said the three courses we had we well cooked, presented and delivered to the table.

Great experience at Ethos, We had the prawns for starters, it was cooked well and tasty, the sauce was a bit spicy but tasted good. I had the Lamb Chops for mains and it was absolutely amazing and so tender, i ended of the night with the Panna Cotta, which was the perfect ending to a great meal

A lovely-looking restaurant with good service and delicious (but pricey) cocktails served in the smallest of glasses. My meal left much to be desired though. Ordered the pork neck dish. Necks lacked flavour and were dry, with not much apple sauce on the plate to make up for it. Veggies were well cooked. Mash was underwhelming, and lacked flavour.

Great food and drinks in a very cool atmosphere. The service was very nice, but a bit chaotic and slow. It took us ages to place our order and pay. Hopefully this is an easy fix for them because I think the restaurant has a lot of potential.

The food is super delicious, my wife had lampShank and I had Lobster, both were out of this world.. The ambience is excellent, We're they felt shot is on customer service.. The service is good but nothing to write home about.. People are just doing what they are paid for without that human connection

I have been here at least 7 times and every time the food is very disappointing. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the service solid. I also like their cocktails. However, their food is terrible. Think overcooked pasta and seafood. Yuck. Just go for drinks.

Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. The lamb shank I ordered was not available. We waited half an hour for our desserts to be served only to be told that something went wrong and it could not be served. We then asked for our bill repeatedly, and after half an hour, we stood up. The system was offline. So effectively sat there for an hour wasting our time. It's was not worth the trek all the way from the North.

Service was good. Food was disappointing for what you are paying. Octopus was overcooked. The lamb shank was cooked well but the cheesy sauce was overpowering and didn't complement the dish. The bathrooms are unisex which is fine, but why is there someone from the staff in there all the time...there feels like there is no privacy!

My husband took me here for date night and it's a really beautiful environment, not loud, great food, and overall ambiance. Very cozy and we could hear each other speak So music is not not too loud.

Lovely space, beautifully decorated with a fresh touch of everything “restaurant” that you could think of. A-bit pricey, but it depends who’s asking. Amazing food and cocktails! Very slow service, not much urgency when it comes to food orders -even worse receiving your drinks! I’d say that makes it slightly chaotic. However, try it out.

The restaurant decor is stunning but they seem to have an issue with stock. They were out of stock for five of the starter choices. This is our second time to the restaurant and we had a similar issue the first time we went there. Two of our main courses arrived at our table cold. They are trying to be a five star restaurant but they are making quite a few mistakes. With the prices they are charging, we will rather go to marble or saints where it is slick and offering a real experience. Such a pity as it could be amazing.

Excellent service. Our waiter was everything you want at a restaurant. I had the salmon. It was beautifully seasoned and amazing texture. The only let down for me was the extra cripsy skin, made it difficult to cut with the fish knife. The vegetables were also a little puzzling, not sure I liked the combination of beans and near raw aubergines but that's just my taste. I had your sponge cake for dessert, which was absolutely fun and well thought out, but again, the cake itself was too firm, and rather crumbly. A solid 3/5 on that. By the way, your olive bread was delicious.

Beautiful restaurant, amazing cocktails!! The food doesn’t match the price. The wagyu was over cooked or wasn’t wagyu at all. The steak which was supposed to be medium was way past that and tasted dead, no flavour profile at all. The cocktails are OUTSTANDING! The food looks better than it tastes. I do hope it was just a bad day for the kitchen because everything else about the place you will probably enjoy.

I loved this place. I went there for dinner with a friend. The scenery I'd good and clean with some good music. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a good time. It's a place you can go alone or as a group. I loved the food too.

If you love an Instagramable restaurant that's away from the hustle and bustle of Rosebank then Ethos is it! I would describe as contemporary dining as it has its own signature style, the waiters are very attentive and the menu is not that extensive. The pricing is what doesn't make sense though because although the food is good, it's not something to write home about. Some of the flavors are a bit underwhelming. It's not really an explosion of taste. The cocktails are good and so is the dessert. That Tiramisu though was just divine and was both light and decadent. It was like eating a caffinated cloud. Their portions are generous so I'd say if you plan on being there for a couple of hours then order all three courses but if it's a quick lunch or dinner then a main and dessert will do. Prepare your pockets because this place is not cheap.
