Reviews of Savages Fine Food
This restaurant is great for a quick lunch or cake and coffee. Their battered fish is a great option especially if you have it baked. The coffee is good and the staff are friendly. The restaurant is in a pretty garden giving it a pleasant atmosphere. You can sit outside on a warm day.
Port Elizabeth's best breakfast!!
Perfectly creamy scrabbled eggs, crispy bacon, sweet roasted tomatoes and honey glazed pork sausages - be still my beating heart! 💕
What a joy to visit this fine establishment which prides itself on excellent at every level and delivers. It is a credit to the owners Cindy & Conrad who we had the pleasure of meeting.
We couldn't have asked for better weather as we sat in the sunshine on the veranda of this historic house, admiring the immaculate cottage gardens and enjoying our breakfast. We only wish we had more time to visit again for lunch!
Well done Team Savages 😃
The setting is beautiful. Very peaceful sitting out amongst the trees and flowers. The flatbreads were absolutely delicious and their drink selection extensive and the service was fine. To be honest, the servers weren't very welcoming or warm and didn't seem very happy to be waiting on use, although they were effective. Their kitchen closes at 1400 on Mondays (something I should have checked before going), which is very early and we ended up being asked to leave at around 1500, even though the table next to us was left alone to continue with their conversation. With its proximity to St. George Hospital, it is a nice place for a coffee while you wait and, like I said, the food is honestly good, but I won't be going out of my way to go again.
We had a party of 11. The staff is excellent, very helpful and friendly. The food is great, everyone in our party was very happy. The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Would definitely recommend.
I went there for a work function for supper and they gladly made me a gluten free vegan main and dessert. The food was really good and it is a beautiful venue. I also loved the beautiful garden. A true gem in PE. Well done to the chef for the vegan risotto. Lovely chopped fruits for dessert. Very good presentation.
Our total experience at Savages was outstanding! Due to the pandemic we decided not to celebrate my daughter Amber-Sky's 16th Birthday. The morning of, I simply could not break our long-standing tradition of having brunch together.
With no Reservation... I said a silent prayer for us to be accomodated at Savages. Knowing Savages respects their clients safety by ensuring a 50% venu capacity, I was concerned they would not have a table for us and we would have to settle for the second less safer option.
This made me feel a little anxious, we are not comfortable dinning out during these times... Savages is a favorite lunching option with spacious, picture perfect, tranquil, well manicured gardens and most importantly EXCELLENT SERVICE, the menu is served elegantly, with delicious SURPRICES. Thank you Savages, especially to the attentive owner... for accomodating us without a reservation, you helped make Amber-Sky's Birthday brunch a wonderful memory she will have for ever.
I’ve always had a wonderful experience here with good, wholesome food and a peaceful surrounding. Staff are attentive and service is great
Savages is one of Port Elizabeth" more popular breakfast spots, particularly when the weather is good as there are many tables dotted around the garden. Kids have space to run around and it's walled off so they are protected from the road. It's an attractive space inside too and often used for functions and weddings.
The coffee is good and the juice I had wasn't bad, just a bit light on ginger. The menu has some interesting options. The benedict options are good but the shakshuka I had was not great as it was dry and because it had beans in it (which I liked the sound of), it is even drier. The whole point of shakshuka is the sauce.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Prices on the higher side. I'd go back but will order differently next time.
A beautiful garden and small menu awaits you at Savages. Choose from breakfasts, salads, burgers, flatbreads and other speciality items, all made with local and fresh ingredients. The lamb burger with chips and battered fish with mushy peas are two of my favourites. Sit on the veranda and enjoy the lush garden view - you won't be disappointed!
Our first time, but not our last time, we just love everything about Savages, very nice, helpful staff, the food was delicious...
If you looking for fine dining and class at affordable prices, this is a good choice. Food is absolutely divine. Highly recommended.
I get my quick coffee and a snack here very day my favourite spot every day and wow there ham cheese and red onion sandwiches are very tasty 😋
Great service & friendly staff. Delicious food & coffee. Beautiful garden setting.
Attended a Lamelle Workshop at Savages - beautifully, tranquil garden, delicious snacks, yummy lunch and the best melt in your mouth desserts!!
Our 1st time, we were guests at a 60th anniversary. it was awsome
Beautiful surroundings. Lovely gardens in bloom for summer. Delicious sandwiches and cupcakes.
Absolutely stunning little restaurant. The food and atmosphere was amazing and the garden and verandah seating makes it a lovely spot for lunch on a sunny day.
Very nice atmosphere, beautiful setting and delicious menu😋
The service is impeccable, recommendations by the serving staff are spot on, and food is exceptional!
Excellent restaurant. I went there for breakfast. I especially enjoyed the smoothie.
Had a delicious breakfast at Savages fine food, it's really such a quality place to dine. It's kind of hard to know where they are because they don't really have massive signage that I could spot but people sure seem to know where they are. They have lovely inside or outside seating options and very friendly staff. Definitely a classy place to enjoy a fine meal.
She only had a smoothie, but the place is beautiful and has good energy.
Lovely food, casual setti g on the veranda which was super. Our waiter was fantastic, very efficient. A good day was had, I recommend Savages
Artisenal style food in a contemporary home with lush gardens. Really well priced!
Best spot in Port Elizabeth for breakfast! Breakfast Rosti with bacon is out of this world 🌎 😋
Hosted our event at Savages and the service, staff, food and atmosphere was top notch. Thanks to Cindy, Johan, Anzel, Lily and the rest of the team for ensuring a super launch event. Highly recommended!
First time at Savages, as a self proclaimed coffee the cortado is one of the best I’ve had. Excellent food and service. My mate loved the choc brownie milkshake. Worth the visit! Thank you Mr Eddie for taking your mates there …
The lamb burger was excellent and the sauces complimented the food perfectly. The onion rings tasted slightly over cooked. The overall atmosphere was warm and inviting with a vintage charm to the decor. The garden outside is breathtaking on its own!
A very delightful place with a beautiful garden, chairs and tables under shady trees and a lovely koi pond. A not familiar place to most and needs more exposure. All foods and icecream made on the premises and very tasty The cakes as well priced at competitive price and also different. A delightful arts and crafts shop on the premises. A must to visit and entertain friends.
Went there for my birthday and had absolutely wonderful food (I had the wrap with cheese and caramelised onion - yummy). The complimentary birthday carrot cake was simply divine. Loved it. 10/10 would definately recommend.
For all the garden lovers - the garden is truly beautiful with a fish pond at the entrance
Friendly staff and the best egg Benedict and French toast
The most PERFECT place to pop in for a drink and a bite to eat. Be prepared to linger longer, though - the atmosphere is amazing, the tranquility of the beautiful garden is captivating and everything on the menu is moreish!! Thank you, Savages, for an all round wonderful experience and may you go from strength to strength ...
Lovely setting, friendly service, interesting breakfast menu and the best breakfast in PE. My breakfast of choice will always be chicken livers and I have had my fair share of this delicacy. However, this was the best chicken livers I can remember ever eating. Ever.
Perfect place for a quick cup of coffee or to have private table with friends. The beautiful classic cape dutch building is well maintained and interior has been modernised to make you feel comfortable in a pleasant and pleasing atmosphere.
What a lovely setting. Tranquil and serene is what describe the venue. Great food and delicious cocktails. Recommended for any occasion.
I mean, from stepping my foot on the premises I was mesmerized by the beautiful setting. The service and food is first class. I appreciate the fact that your quality, service and prices are amazing. Thank you for giving me this beautiful memory.
Keep doing the most, I will be back when I visit PE again.
After a lovely walk. My best friend and i stumbled upon this lovely family restaurant. Where we ended up having lunch. With wonderful staff and a welcoming atmosphere, Savage Fine foods happend to be one of PE's hidden treasures. From fine foods to accommodating vegans and vegetarians. Upon entering your welcomed by a very tranquil setting, beautiful koi pond and lush garden. Who could ask for anymore. We enjoyed the food and will definitely be returning soon!!❤ thank you to the Savage Fine food staff for accommodating us even though they were full at lunch.
The food was well presented and tasty with great out door seating. The staff were very polite. A great selection on the menu.
Beautiful garden type of surrounding restaurant and a pleasant set up at popular Capri Road St. GEORGES.....Disappointed with my Turkish breakfast. Too acidic and porch egg missing half of the egg white. Peanut over roasted ...
I had beer battered fish and chips for lunch. Well cooked fish lovely crispy batter. Skin on chips perfectly cooked mushy peas with a hint of mint.
Service was excellent and prompt.
I took five friends out for my birthday lunch to Savages.
I have been to Savages on several occasions and have always enjoyed it, but this last time was disappointing.
Everything that we asked for which deviated slightly from the menu description, we were told immediately that it was not possible.
I am not talking about major requests.
We asked for a side of onion rings with my wife’s vegetable & lentil curry, a side of vegetables with the Baaaakens Bun and to have 3 scoops of different flavours of ice cream in a single serving. To all three requests we were told by the waiter that it was not possible and yet, without notice the requests were met.
It was very confusing as we were not sure what we were going to get. One of us managed to get an ice cream with three flavours while 4 of us got three scoops of the same flavour with our Speciality Ice Creams.
My side salad, however, did not arrive with my Beer Batter Fish.
Went for lunch. Service good. They were patient with us because we took a long time to order. Love the outdoor vibe.
The best place in pe for breakfast or lunch
Simply in a different class
Great cup of coffee. Delicious cheese cake. Waitering not great: had to ask for sugar, ask for serviette, had to ask another waiter to prepare the bill & then had to go looking for waiter to pay.
Beautiful gardens , nice seating outside, and friendly waiter Imanuel. The food was excellent, very well presented.
Loooooooove the food , the service was great and the place is just beautiful. Staff is super friendly and I would highly recommend the Baakens Bun sooo good. I am definitely coming back to this place!
Emanuelle our waiter, was attentive and went the extra mile to ensure my birthday brunch with a friend was a special occasion. He knows thf menu well and made excellent recommendations.
Love this place. Amazing outdoor and indoor seating. The food is always top class. And the service is friendly and consistent.
You've never had a real breakfast until you've tried the Savage breakfast. Literally the best I've had this year. Thank you Siya for the 5 star service.
Beautiful place, lovely ambiance and the staff was great. They pay so much attention to their customers and the food was lovely.
Such a beautiful garden setting. It was full at lunch but the service was still very good and the food 👌👌
Amazing! The food is fantastic, the service is excellent and this place is upmarket but still baby friendly. We really enjoy brunch at Savages!
Nice menu, good food served by friendly staff, in a lovely setting. Well worth a visit.
The ambience and decor is amazing.
The only issue is the wait. 50 minutes wait for a simple breakfast order is extremely long
Scrumptious quality meals at a great price, amazing ambiance. My favourite breakfast spot in PE
Fantastic evening at Savages with Frankie and the misfits. Great food with good service . Well done
Hearty & warm atmosphere. Baristas are excellent. The cakes & pastry are a must!
Most beautiful garden, friendly staff, delicious food! Can't wait to go back
Great coffee and food
Lovely food and fresh juice. Conservatory great semi outdoor venue.
Pleasant environment, not good value for money wrt the breakfast we had. Masterton's cuppachino was good.

Good food. Reasonably price. Cakes are all yummy!
Delicious brekkie ("Savages with bacon"; Eggs Benedict), with top-notch service. Thanks.
Good food. Different to your run-of-the-mill coffee shop
Really nice food but service a little slow
Friendly staff. Salted caramel cheesecake was fabulous.
