Lots of animals and birds but main gate locked and pathways poorly maintained and not well marked

A local treasure somewhat neglected by City. Volunteers do their appreciated best to keep it unique as a public but still remote area with giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, etc. Good for walking and birding. Has an interesting history as a shooting range in 1st World War with much evidence (undamaged) still standing. Has serious problems with snares and poaching and so the more genuine visitors go there the better.

Lovely reserve considering there is no entrance fee, good for birding visitors can walk around freely just be aware of animals . Saw zebra giraffe impala. This place has so much potential.

I run and cycle at this reserve on a weekly basis. The reserve is "maintained" by the municipality. The trails are over grown and the only trails that are there are animal trails that are poorly marked and are confusing. Don't get me wrong I love this place; I have seen Giraffe, Zebra, Impala, Wildebeest, Porcupine, Mongoose, Snakes and various other mammals and creatures however, I wish the Municipality would do to more to make it look good.

Free and very spacious. Very nice, saw kudus, giraffes, monkeys and lots of birds. The problem for non-insiders is that you drive past the gate because it is closed. However, we were then informed that you were allowed to open the gate and that once you were inside, you had to close it again immediately.
