Reviews of East London Museum
If you want to know about history of the Eastern Cape and it's people you must visit the Museum. Book for a tour guide if you come in a group of 4 or more people.
Really enjoyed going to the museum. Haven't been there for years.
Clean & well looked after.
The displays are a bit dated but informative non the less.
Well worth the entrance fee.
It was the best experience I had getting to know from the 1990s and older animals ,people ,dress up and so much more i really recommend it for first time experience do it!!
Lots to see and read, we spent a couple of hours learning about the natural history and the human history of KwaZulu-Natal. There is a lot to this museum as-well as the prehistoric fish story which was really interesting.
Wow, totally enjoyed bringing the kids here. The museum is full of useful information with wonderful displays. For an entry fee of merely R15 (kids) and R25 (adults), it's well worth the visit.
Amazing information & displays. Our family enjoyed the Museum - perfect family, rainy day outing. Definately reccommend a trip to the East London Museum. My kids loved seeing the dodo egg & world's oldest human trace fossil footprints. Incredible sea shells display! The information & attention to detail in displays are mind blowing
Awesome experience, absolutely love it - every time! Great museum in this little town that has so little to offer - please please please keep up the great work in maintaining and extending.
Guys and girls of all ages come and see real life in the past its accurate and informative and most of all fun much better in real life. Ps. I had one of the best days of my life at East London Museum guys 120/10 you guys really out did yourselves
Lovely museum to visit. The shell and crystal collections and fish models are pleasant to view. The shell collection is definitely worth seeing. It was donated to the museum by a shell collector whose passion is displayed in the volume of shells the exhibit contains. Other exhibits include: the coelacanth, world war one, indigenous tribes and the lifestyle of the european settlers. Relics of old shipwrecks are also included.
Well organised, very neat. Good for our history.
Well done to East London for maintaining their museum. What a lovely and informative visit. We loved it.
Was so long since my last visit, the kids enjoyed it
Super little museum. So much information and displays to see. Great value for money.
Friendly staff and plenty of interesting displays. The kids loved it.
Very clean and neat and the exhibitions are beautiful
Old but well-kept museum. A must-see gem when visiting East London.
Very interested but not really covering the existence and when and why East Londen was developed
Wonderful place to visit. With kids or not. Museum in old style but with many interesting things to see. Of course Latimeria is a must see!
This is a different museum to most people but if you have time and read a lot you will enjoy the museum.
Lovely lovely museum! I encourage everyone to visit!!!! Beautiful animal and bird exhibits. Well done EL.
Always a pleasure visiting EL Museum. The curator deserves a thumbs up!
My kids still love it even though it never really changes. Still a magical place for kids.
Ate breakfast at Evolve and we highly recommend this gorgeous place 😍
Very nice for a change to show my children things they wouldn't see normally
I really love with this museum, you just need maximum 4 or 5 hr for detailed visit
Variety of things to see. Huge collection of bird eggs. Friendly staff. Unfortunately we arrived just after 12 on a Saturday and they closed 13h00.
Great displays well presented and informative. Neat and clean

Amazing atmosphere and a wonderful new restuarant with amazing staff.
Great museum. Friendly staff. Wide selection of fields covered.
Tasty food at affordable prices. Enjoyed efficient service in a cosy, private space.
Spent all day here. The most interesting exhibition I have been to in years!
Excellent museum with an unbelievable shell collection and a must see cealocanth exhibit.
Was great. Much better than the PE Museum
Lots of history, but a bit rundown. More people need to support the museum for them to update their exhibitions.
Small but an awesome outing. With a lovely coffee shop.
Very impressed, more there than expected.
