C.Rotary Club Villa Crespo commemorates the death of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela died in Johannesburg Gauteng South Africa December 5, 2013, he was a lawyer and activist against South African political apartheid who presided over his country from 1994 to 1999. He was the first black president to head the Executive Branch and the first to be elected by universal suffrage in his country. He was imprisoned for 27 years and was released in 1990, in the midst of a social upheaval in South Africa, he earned the support of the international community for his activism, which earned him more than 250 honorable mentions and other awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of the Freedom and the Lenin Peace Prize. In South Africa he is considered a figure of respect, where he is known by the original name of the Xhosa clan, Madiba. Rotary Club Parque Centenario and Northcliff Rotary Club South Africa participate.
