Reviews of Yamkela Guest House
Rooms are clean and tidy, have air con and DSTV, beds are clean are highly standard condition, breakfast is good and served by smily faces by their personnel. Each an every time I enjoy staying here
The rooms are very small and the windows / doors felt a bit like a cage. Overall it was okay but not perfect and overpriced.
Friendly staff. Great service under the covid regulations.
Central location, safe and value for money.
Great accommodation.
Nice chilled place
Unfortunately we didn't stay overnight. The reason for this was that the pool was completely dirty and therefore not accessible. Several members of the South African army were also stationed overnight. In the courtyard near the pool they held a barbecue with very loud shouting. They also stowed their grill and food utensils throughout the entire courtyard, so that quiet and relaxing use was out of the question. When the owner asked, we were treated snobbishly because these people had rented the property for 3 weeks and therefore received priority. We would only be here for 2 days and could endure it. We moved out after the conversation. When we asked whether there would be a refund of the money we had already paid in advance, we were very rudely asked whether we were still in our right mind. I can't say anything about other points in the B&B as we only stayed for about 30 minutes.
Rooms in the main building were occupied, so we got a room near the garden. We always had to go down 4 very difficult steps to get there. Wheelchair could hardly get around the corner. The room had a nice view of the garden, you could sit on the veranda. Separate toilet, not too low, was nice. Separate shower. To get to the breakfast room we had to take 6 steps or walk around and 4 steps, all without a handrail. You could request unlimited breakfast, which was fine.
Very nice facility. The safari was terrific and the food was excellent. With the ranger you could tell that he loves the animals and puts his heart and soul into his work. The hostess was very nice and extremely friendly.
A fantastic place to rest on the mythical South African route 62.||Quiet hotel with very spacious rooms surrounded by a beautiful garden. ||The information provided by the owners about the town, their treatment and welcome made us fall in love.
Excellent service, highly recommended, the owners are charming, the room is in line with the price, excellent location.
