Reviews of The Silo Hotel
We had a wonderful time watching the sunset at the rooftop, and Sakhele was very helpful and he has a positive attitude and very professional 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 kudos to the manager for hiring him⭐️
And btw it’s required a reservation in advance for the rooftop
Great place to stay at if you are in town for business.. Lots of restaurants nearby at the waterfront, walking distance and there is a mall that you can do shopping as well as do a walk site seeing.
Excellent customer service by the staff
Staff member that served us was ANGA
Great vibe, kept the vibe going, always checking on us with his team😎🙌🤗
Keep it up!! #theSiloHotel
Big UPS to Nigel 👍
I organized a 12 ladies lunch with Silo Rooftop. It started to rain lightly, and the Hotel staff quickly sprung into action and moved the lunch indoors.
The 3 course meal was outstanding, the service next level.
The staff at this Hotel are well trained and proud of their jobs.
All stops were pulled out to make our experience 5 star.
From reception area, to waiters to the chef checking on every course.
Outstanding in every aspect, thank you.
Oh my gosh - The Silo is like a dream. Absolutely out-of-this world and stunning. The atmosphere, aesthetic, service and thoughtfulness to the finest of details proves for the most spectacular and magnificent experience ever. I can’t wait to visit The Silo again.
We had a high tea for 12 people service was excellent, very friendly and professional waiters.
One got an iced tea on arrival. Then the tea trays were brought to the table with a bit of savoury and sweet treats, tea or coffee. Anything extra was an additional cost to the R425.00 charge pp. Was enjoyable but I believe it's a bit overpriced. Lovely decor.
High Tea at The Silo is a magical experience. From the moment you sit down you are immersed in a warm enveloping friendliness that exudes from the staff. And then the food arrives! Absolutely delightful, melt-in- the-mouth goodies, and in my case, gluten-free options which the pastry chef himself introduced to us. Next time you're looking for a special experience, consider spending a few hours relaxing and chatting with a cup of delicious tea and some scones with a dollop of clotted cream. You won't regret it!
Perhaps the best luxury hotel to stay in on the Waterfront, Silo surely delivers in every aspect. From beautifully appointed rooms, to impeccable service and friendliness of the staff, to sumptuous meals to be had at either granary cafe or the rooftop bar. Oh, and the views from the latter are simply stunning.
Highly recommended!
Had breakfast at the Granary Cafe to celebrate my birthday. From the time I stepped in at the hotel reception to the restaurant, I was made to feel so welcome. Service was amazing and the staff very attentive, and not only to be as the birthday girl. The food was lovely, presentation beautiful and definitely worth return visits
What a beautiful venue. We decided to have a drink and a slice of cake in the lounge, and what a treat. Even though it was a gloomy day with the weather, the venue more than made up for it. The cake was fresh and tasted amazing. I liked their bubbly selection as there's a few options that you don't normally find at most restaurants. I would definitely recommend you visiting this hotel.
I love the Silo Hotel! Stylish with a great ambience! The best High Tea, delicious breakfast and awesome rooftop bar! The staff are always so friendly and most accommodating. Let's not forget to mention, that you are surrounded by the most incredible views of Cape Town.
A visit to the granary restaurant, 6th floor was a dream experience, amazing building. Ask for a pass to the top floor (11th) bar for apperitivos and views that are truly unique. Great service and kitchen, shout out for the hard working smiling staff. This is afterall the southern Hemisphere's premiere city👍🤘😘
Whenever we are in Cape Town we pay a visit to the rooftop on The Silo Hotel. Great view, food and drinks ... if you are able to get that far. Once in a while the management decide to act like a virgin avoiding a kiss from a respectable suitor. Once in a while there are hotel guests only allowed so they deny you access. Which is perfectly fine until you can see from the neighboring hotel rooftop that there is no one sitting. Well, have it your way. We do reconsider another visit, because there is a fine line between exclusivity and discrimination.
We attended The Granary Cafe for breakfast. Extremely affordable despite being a world class rooftop restaurant. Reservations are quick and easy and the waiters are particularly attentive to your every need!
It was our 10 year anniversary and I loved every moment. Lovely views and wonderful food. It made our day very special. It was a lunch but the supper menu looks much more rewarding... see you soon.
Decent views from a bar that is not on the roof. Prices are not extremely high but are more than everywhere else in Cape Town. Service was friendly but slow. Food was mildly creative and tasty. We only had the bites, nothing off the mains selection.
Great rooftop bar with stunning views and a killer pink gin signature cocktail. Lunch at the Granary is fantastic and they serve the best royal tea. Also tried the spa. The treatments are great however it would be nice if there were a few other facilities at the spa that one could use.
From the moment you walk into reception until your exit, in my opinion is was immaculate service. The interior is beautifully decorated with flamboyant furniture and stunning artwork. Service at the Granary Cafe was an amazing dining experience aswell. The breath taking views overlokking the harbour and table mountain is beautiful too. From starter to dessert every item was flavorful and beautifully plated and garnished. The staff is so warm and welcoming. Definitely worth your pennies!.
Wonderful roof terrace on the 11th floor of the Silo hotel with magnificent 360’ views. The drinks and cocktails are great and the staff is friendly and approachable. The pool may only be used by hotel guests and there is also an exclusive area even further up where the public is not allowed and where hotel guests can relax. Non-hotel-guests need to book in advance if they want to visit the 11th floor bar. Unfortunately, the roof top bar closes at 20.00 which, at the height of summer, is too early to make full use of the experience of the sun setting over the Mother City.
Had a cheese platter and then scones in the bar area. Smallest scones I have ever had but still a very good experience. Very good service. Fantastic decor and views.
Nothing can compare with the views from this hotel. Watching the sunset was amazing. Great food and very friendly, professional service at the Granary Restaurant. Our Australian guest was in awe.
Fantastic views from the bar area. All classic cocktails can be ordered - you just need to ask the talented barmen to make your favourite drink. Highly recommend the espresso martini 👌
It was my first time at the Silo.I had the most wonderful experience. As you enter interior are luxurious.I went for treatments at the spa and it was amazing! After that I went to the rooftop for lunch.Food was delicious and the views are out of this world! I will definitely be back for more.x
A great treat with staff that are very well trained and attend to your every need. Prices are on the high side but the Resturaunt bar generally seems to have a walk in seating as they don't take bookings. In any event, the bar and cocktail service is really where the most joy can be had anyway!
Experienced the Royal High Tea and what a truly regal affair!
Each item served was so beautifully curated and tasted delicious! Will definitely return
What a stunner!!! The artwork, the hotel design, and the pure elegance are unmatched. One of my top hotels to stay when in Cape Town.
We booked at the restaurant for lunch , the staff was very welcoming and very professional, the place was very neat. After having lunch we went to the rooftop for drinks. The views are stunning....360 degrees Table Mountain the ocean all from one point.
One of the best hotels, their food is incredible and it's very affordable.
This hotel is perfect. Impeccable design, fabulous staff, excellent drinks, stunning rooms. We loved every moment of our stay!!!
Stylised and offers all the bells and whistles. However compared to its sister hotel, La Residence, it pales. Even the decor comparatively seems rushed and not given the tender loving care as the other hotel I just left. Very beautiful but just not the same calibre. And the staff, they are lovely and trying but it's a city vibe ultimately and doesn't come across as wholly genuine.
Restaurant, the Grannary, was disappointing. Food was competent. But too much happening on each plate. It was just not fabulous. The service was really not particularly enthusiastic either, which ultimately put me off my experience.
Since my Capetown experience is limited, I cannot say how it compares to other hotels. However it is very pricy. After La Residence, I expected more....
Just beautiful. Cocktails...yum! Prices seem to be tourist targeted. But then it does have the most amazing views. Reception in the hotel entrance could be warmer.
Such a magical, amazing experience!!! As a young capetonian visiting the silo hotel was an absolute treat!!!! The high tea is really something out of this world, and the views are breathtaking!!
The View is amazing and the ambiance 3 stars only for the view and the set up other than that the food average, pizza the best took ages to get our cocktails and then got the wrong one and took even longer to get the right one back , other than the view I expected more from a 5 start hotel
Only got to The Willaston Bar - amazing view, superb service and ambience. Overall, great design with so much stories and characters. Must go back to the museum and stay at the hotel...soon!
I've been here many times and I love this place. Views are amazing, service is a little slow for mid week (this particular time - Wednesday). Food is still great though.
Best view of harbour in Cape Town. Superb but extremely expensive hotel. I was expecting more attentive table service in the restaurant at this price point, however the overall exclusivity is priceless making any value-for-money debate senseless. Go have a look.
We visited the Willaston bar for intimate evening drinks surrounded by modern luxury with old world charm. (Sexy little paradox) The drinks and snacks were delicious and service was delightfully speedy but the ultimate draw was the night time view of the sea and the mountain by citylight! This will definitely be a repeat adventure.
I'm still at the venue and already I'm blown away. The ambience is to die for. Very sheek and elegant, excellent service this far.
I'm all the way from KZN Durban and I'm definently recommending it to everyone back home and locals if they haven't been
World class hotel and wedding venue! Roof top swimming pool, spa area, restaurant and many more! Worth each and every cent paid! Amazing stuff, delicious fresh food and a super friendly chef!
What a beautiful hotel! We stayed for 4 nights and had an amazing stay. Very friendly and familiar staff, great interior design and perfect location. Thank you!
For the most amazing view of Cape Town and the Waterfront from the rooftop bar and great cocktails .... do not miss an opportunity to visit the Silo Hotel. It has the most amazing decor and quality accommodation.
Great ambiance and fantastic views, but their food menu is very very very limited... but if you want the best views in cape town its worth the visit
Beautiful place. Nice bar and tapas. Great service. Wheelchair friendly entrance. Wheelchair friendly bathroom.
Just went for coffee and cake... Was very special and the attention to detail is excellent. However when we left the building the parking lift closed on me as the sensors seemed not to be working... Very scary.
Lovely place for drinks any time of day at the 6th floor bar, but if you can go to the 11th floor bar and deck area views are superb.
Great view. Staff is extremely hospitable. Afternoon tea is okay providing loads of food choices but only a single choice of tea
Opulence at its best. Make your reservation, you will thank yourself. Our Waiter Wiseman had us taken care off...
The Granary with Magic Panoramic viewd of Table Mountain, Signal Hill & the Cape Town Harbour...5 Star Food & 5 Star Service...A Must Do for O/Seas & Local visitors!
The architecture will draw you there. The quirky painting and pop art will have you enthralled and the rose daiquiri will make you want to come back for more..
Very nice worth a visit
The ladies bar on the fourth floor is great.
Quite simply one of the best hotels in the world. Fantastic rooms and service beyond any expectation.
Out of this world - a hotel on another level. Thank you to the Silo hotel for treating us like Royalty
Most incredible views, impeccable service, delicious cocktails and a must on anyone's bucket list!
The Granary Restaurant at The Silo Hotel never disappoints. Amazing service, friendly staff and delicious food.
Great bar with a great view. You have go their
Beautiful!
Very well-kept rooms with spectacular views.
Wonderful rooftop bar with great cocktails. Good restaurant. Super breakfasts.
Very friendly and nice staff.
Recommended even just for a cocktail on the roof.
We were in the silo twice. The first time at the bar. Unfortunately, all the service staff that day were very inattentive and not particularly friendly. After some time and only one drink (we actually wanted to stay longer) we left again.
Since we had a reservation for teatime two days later, we wanted to give the hotel a second chance.
We got there a little earlier and this time we received a very friendly welcome. Since there was still 15 minutes left, the friendly concierge took us to the roof top, which was actually closed due to the weather, to show us everything. Very nice.
Afterwards we went to tea time as booked, which was really good and friendly. The food was very good and the tea was also delicious. The view at our table was just okay, but that was just bad luck.
We had better experiences on vacation for the price range, but it wasn't entirely bad either.
We were eating on the terrace on the top floor (cafeteria). Spectacular views, very friendly service, good food. Reasonable prices considering the location. There is a swimming pool, chill-out areas and tables. A highly recommended visit.
We enjoyed the sunset on the outdoor terrace of the Silo. The view from up there is breathtaking. We especially liked the view towards Table Mountain and Lions Head. The service was excellent, we had cocktails and snacks. All in all a great evening with a great view, delicious drinks and actually not as expensive as expected.
In 2015, when we visited Cape Town, the imposing The Silo was still just a project under construction. This time, we had the honor of staying there, which is considered one of the best in all of Africa and without a doubt the best and most extraordinary on the Cape. ||The austere, modern and industrial architecture of the building, designed by the famous London architect Thomas Heatherwick, contrasts with the vibrant, irreverent and colorful interior decoration carefully created by the hotel's owner, Liz Biden. The hotel, which was included in the 2018 Conde Nast Traveler’s Hot List, was also chosen as the best boutique hotel in the world by Jetsetter and winner in design by Virtuoso.|| |The Silo set a new standard for accommodation in the city, being today a reference for art, style, architecture and design, as well as gastronomy. With just 28 rooms, the hotel has 4 Family Suites on its seventh floor. We stayed three nights in one, which had two floors: on top were two bedrooms and huge bathrooms and, below, a dining room, TV room, living room, toilet and a balcony. The entire room had a privileged view of the V&A Waterfront. ||Our stay in Cape Town this time revolved largely around staying at The Silo. We wanted to make the most of what that place had to offer, as being there was a privilege. |||We had dinner and lunch there almost every day. Some of them, in the comfort of our suite, and others in the imposing Granary Cafe or the Willaston Bar. The hotel also offers a list of highly recommended restaurants.|||Having drinks on the hotel's Rooftop is something extraordinary and a must go in the city , as it is open to non-guests by reservation. The location provides one of the best views of Cape Town, with a complete panorama of Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront. |||As we had already done the entire Cape basic itinerary, we exchanged other so-called “essential” tours for a beautiful afternoon at the Silo pool. We ordered a cheese board and a good wine, and there we enjoyed an unforgettable sunset, enjoying the scenery Amazing. The boys swam and made a lot of noise because we had the place to ourselves that day!
Certainly one of the most spectacular hotels in Cape Town due to its waterfront location, in-house art and exposed rooftop bar and transparent pool. I would doubt whether the relatively high prices are justified... I was missing a lot; The service in particular falls short compared to the absolute world standard...
