Where do I even begin with this place. I spent a night here before my wedding and my bridesmaids and I got ready here too.
Mo and his family made us feel so welcome and really rolled out the red carpet for us. The breakfast was incredible, we got treated like royalty. The rooms were spacious and the gardens absolutely beautiful. Thank you for all your help and for all the running around to make sure we were comfortable and happy. I appreciate everything 🙏🏼 very accommodating, friendly, homely and just wonderful.
We had a wonderful time at Villa Exner! Friendly and professional service, great food and a serene setting. The room was also squeaky clean! We really hope to return soon.
Simply AMAZING! I was at the hotel for two days with my fiancee and we had such a great time, mostly due to the great help and tipps from the owners. Everything was perfect - especially the amazing food 🍴🎉
Beautiful guest house and superb service. The breakfast is top notch too. Friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend Exnor for those travelling to the Grabouw/Elgin area
Outstanding hotel with phenomenon service. Absolutely worth the five star rating and definitely can compete with European hotels but outstrips them on the peace and ambiance of Elgin.
Beautiful hotel. Breakfast delivered to the room due to covid restrictions. Spot on time every day rain or shine. Thank you Villa Exner
Charming, comfortable and clean! Enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality very much. Will definitely be visiting again.
Superb accommodations. Accomoditing customer service. Overall, a great experience.
Excellent facility even more brilliant hosts.
I want shares here...nearly perfect!
Cool and nice
Very helpful
We spent 6 nights in Villa Exner for the first time and didn't regret a minute of it. The town of Grabouw itself is not very touristy, but is an ideal starting point for trips to the surrounding wine-growing regions, to Cape Town or Hermanus. And every evening we looked forward to the peace and quiet in the villa's wonderful garden. Overall, the accommodation is excellent, and the friendliness and unobtrusive helpfulness of the owners and staff are definitely worth highlighting. Many thanks to the Exner couple for all the good tips - every one of them was a hit. We would love to come back!
We spent 2 wonderful weeks in Villa Exner, where we were very well accommodated and had excellent food. We particularly appreciated the “size” (17 rooms) of the hotel, which offered a real oasis after a week in Cape Town. The facility is well maintained and the staff looked after us excellently and always in a friendly manner. Although the entire region has many good restaurants, it was not easy to find an equivalent substitute for dinner when the hotel restaurant was closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The location in Grabouw is a bit remote, but Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Hermanus etc. can be reached in 40-50 minutes, which we considered reasonable for SA.
Despite its proximity to the sea and well-known wine towns such as Stellenbosch, the town of Grabow is certainly not a place with great tourist attraction. But it hides in a quiet, green location, Villa Extner, the perfect location for a stay full of enjoyment and relaxation. The house, the rooms, the large garden and the restaurant... everything is tastefully and lovingly designed. The food is excellent and the service is excellent. The only disadvantage we found was that no alcohol was served during our stay due to a lack of a license. However, this shortcoming should be remedied soon. Another advantage we found was the good connection to many points of tourist interest, such as the well-known wine towns or the coast around Gordons Bay, all of which could be reached in just over half an hour.
We received a very, very friendly welcome and all our wishes were fulfilled by “Passmore” at breakfast. Special requests were taken care of immediately, a really perfect vacation spot where you can relax and unwind, great cuisine that leaves nothing to be desired, great excursion tips from Bernd and Sabine
Luxury hotel in the suburbs of Cape Town. Luxurious breakfasts, wonderful dinners. Large, bright rooms. Clean, large pool, excellent service... The only caveat is that it takes about an hour to get to the Waterfront, so you definitely need a car.
An oasis of well-being on the edge of the rather unpleasant town of Grabouw. It is a small country house under German management with a mixture of perfectionism and a South African feel-good atmosphere. We felt completely at home there and would be happy to come back - for a longer period of time. Big compliments to the hosts.
The lodge is a bit hidden in an upscale residential area. We had a small room in the main house, completely OK for one night... there are various apartments in the garden, the pool is big enough, but it was a bit cool at 20°. ...The breakfast was good, unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open at the beginning of the week...It's a good half hour drive from there to the Waterkloof.....
