Spacious rooms, impression is like missing some sitting space. Balcony is very narrow and again no furniture to sit. View on surrounding high-rise buildings. Food average no olive oil available.

_5/5 Stars - The Capetonian is AMAZING!_
Just spent an epic few days at The Capetonian and I'm still reeling! This place has it all: stunning views of Table Mountain, delicious eats, and a spa that'll melt your stress away. Plus, the staff is super friendly and helpful.
And the cherry on top? The pricing is ridiculously fair for the luxury you get! I was expecting a hefty bill, but The Capetonian delivers top-notch quality at a surprisingly reasonable rate.
Perfect for couples, solo adventures, or fam vacations. You won't regret it!
The view is very good get to experience the nature the mountain .The waiters are friendly, they have the TLC .The place is also hygienic ,even the sheets are always clean .wow this place is the best .wait the room service is satisfying 😌come and see it for your self
Very friendly staff and extremely helpful. Food is great and location is very handy. ||Showers and taps need some upgrading.
The place was awesome the rooms were clean and very spacious and the staff were friendly. Definitely going there again
Such an amazing hotel🤞🏼...good stuff, clean and well managed service.
Love Capetonian! Stunning views, vibrant culture, friendly locals and delicious seafood. 5/5 stars!
It's a nice place with nice rooms, their service it's wonderful.
Awesome hotel Best restaurant Close to V&A / convention centre/table mountain etc
The hotel is at a perfect location and the rooms are nice, loved it here.
The capetonian hotel is a perfect place to stay in cape Town the room was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean

this place is so good i can't explain in words even is affordable
This is a right place to fill comfortable about everything you want to enjoy
Even after not visiting for 3 years, the Capetonian still is of the highest quality. Having spent 4 nights there during April, the staff are what makes this hotel a pleasure to stay at. Whilst the stay was of the highest quality, there are always obviously some small issues (mainly to do with the keycards for the room deactivating), it is the staff that go above and beyond to provide the highest standard of service and care. I must pay particular credit to the 2 male members of the reception team who were consistently pleasant and helpful. My literal only complaint, as a Brit, is that the hotel doesn’t provide English breakfast tea (this is important to us)! Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel for service, quality, location and especially, it’s staff!
Inexpensive, centrally located, nice lobby and dining room, free car parking out front, safe, nice bathrooms, rooms a tad bit rundown! English buffet breakfast was extensive and very good with a lot of food and choices. Dinner buffet was equally extensive and very good and convenient if you don’t feel like going out to restaurant. Dining room staff was friendly and helpful as was front desk!
Wonderful place and close to everything and very clean
Stuff very friendly
Cape Town's oldest and most historic hotel. The staff is very welcoming and the manager, Mr Khan, has been very helpful in our 2 week stay. Located in the CBD, you're walking distance from all the shops and just a 5 minute ride to the waterfront.
We had a memorable stay, thank you to the team. A special thank you to Celestine for the warm and friendly welcome. She saw to all our needs and made our stay comfortable. We appreciate that she went the extra mile. Also, a huge thank you to the housekeeping staff for efficient service with a smile. It’s a relief to stay at a fully halaal hotel especially when it comes to the food, which is delicious. The breakfast staff delivered great service. Thank you for a wonderful stay and giving us a home away from home.
we slept in a 2 bedroom "apartment". we loved the location of the place as it was within a walking distances to many amenities. they serve halal food, meaning no bar/ alcohol. the receptionist, the male ones specifically were friendly, I would not say the same about the female one. but we ha a great time and enjoyed the Macon.
Room was a great value.
The neighborhood surrounding is not walkable for a variety of factors.
1.) My room was a generous size and clean. Extra bonus it had a large soaking size bath tub and a huge balcony I was not expecting.
2.) The staff were kind and accommodating as well as efficient at check-in, check-out, and laundry service.
3.) The staff was genuinely concerned for my safety as a woman traveling alone. The restaurant on site is not open for dinner. However the gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to walk me to the restaurant next door to eat and a security officer from the restaurant walked me back.
4.) When you arrive the surrounding community areas look quite walkable however this is something of an illusion. The sidewalks themselves are uneven brick that often pop up or down risking real injuries. It made the experience looking at the area a challenge.
5.) This area gives the strong impression it is high crime and I was asked throughout my short neighborhood walk who I was and what I was doing. This was not in the friendly tourist way it was from security officers and I could not feel safe as to who was listening so I cut my plans to walk to museums in the area short.
6.) I recommend using Uber in the area. I was able to see the waterfront and table mountain for rides of less than $10 USD including tip.
The rooms are nice and spacious and clean as well. The staff are friendly and helpful, always willing to assist. They have Salaah room on site for convenience. I have read criticisms in some reviews about the buffet and food... I feel this was excellent. The best part is that they are strictly halaal so you can have peace of mind. Would definitely be staying here when I come back to CT.
The rooms are nice and comfortable and affordable
Went to a wedding reception at the Raya Hall and it was great. Menu was fantastic and they always filled up the empty buffet trays and juice. Because it is in town, finding parking is a bit of a schlep
It is a nice place indeed, wow
Great place for muslims to stay
Carpets are dirty... fumigation is needed. The kitchen in and out swing doors in the restaurant is a sight for sore eys. A suggestion would be to place an aluminium plate on the whole door so that it can be kept clean easily.
The weekend staff were very friendly, especially the tall gentleman at the front desk. The meals were very good.
Absolutely awesome, friendly staff willing to help and attend to my needs. Loved celebrating my 31st wedding anniversary at 'On the square'
Will definitely be back

Slightly disappointed this time around. Booked for hubby's birthday. Room 914 is basic and bathroom outdated. There wasn't even a hairdryer and the one two point plug outlet wasn't working neither was the desk lamp.
Bedding is hard like a newspaper.
I called housekeeping for a drinking glass as there was only one in the room and a hairdryer and it's the next morning, Saturday 20th, and as yet I did not get it.
Kettle is available in the room but not near a plug. Silly don't you think.
I have heart failure so having to move furniture to get to a plug is tiring for me.
The best place to be with large rooms.
Went here to celebrate 2 birthdays and graduation so I forgot to take pics 🤭 It's still a nice place but now you get served and don't dish yourself. Also from the previous times we've been there there's less options but I guess most companies are implementing cost savings.
There was at least something for everyone to enjoy. Less desert options too and for the price tag (with drinks and tip it works out to R250 per person). Typically because it's buffet you eat more than you would usually so you can probably go eat less for cheaper somewhere else.
Living Room was good but the internet seems to very slow even after complaint to front desk no one seems to care. Hopefully this was not expected for a startndard hotel in Capetown. Food lacks taste specialy if you are Indian you can't eat the food. Hope you will improve on that.
Centrally located and well worth it. Security is good here, for the guests and cars parked here. If we were waiting for an Uber taxi outside, there was always a staff member nearby. The staff were courteous and always friendly / helpful, with requests and arrangements for out of town visitors.
4 star hotel but I'd rate it with 3 stars. The room was clean but a bad smell was coming from the bathroom. Location is okay. No alcohol served in the restaurant or in the hotel. Dinner is open buffet and the restaurant menu has few options.
Loved our stay here.
Centrally located. The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful - went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.
Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to CT.
Great location. Room fittings are very poor and almost breaking off. Architecture of the building and setup is quite confusing for the hotel of this many stars. Hospitality at reception was very good.
The hotel location is awesome, but the service and people there are extra! The only small negative point, in the rooms without balcony it is not possible to open windows.
Family and friends had buffet supper together ....what a variety and oh so tasty. Enjoyable!
Hi we didn't stay there but booked a table there for the night I just want to take this opportunity to thank the staff who was on 19 of November at 6 o clock till 9 o clock we as the Begonia prayer group from Mitchell's Plain had and excellent wonderful and joyful great time there and your food was WoW Mmm minafict and completel to the chef Kitchen staff and all the waiters there and all who was at service God Bless you all
It's very nice place, I was there for wedding reception I love it...
We came to a wedding function on the third floor this evening. The food was really good. The service was excellent and the staff friendly. A great experience.
What a lovely place. I haven't been back in many years. But the experience tonight was as awesome as my memory. Excellence to the nines!! Thank you once again for the experience Capetonian Hotel
We had to run the water for 10min to shower, after phoning reception I was told that is how it works. This I found out after having a cold shower in mid winter at 6am. Also what a waste of water. This needs to be addressed.
First of all, what I have to say is that I would like to thank the hotel staff, maybe the country or city they work in is not a perfect place or location, but these people do everything they do sincerely and lovingly, with a hats off to me, with a smile, I think everything else is just The details are not very important.
The hotel is recommended. The location very good. Rooms are clean. ||Very friendly lift service. ||Our travel group was very cramped in the dining room because of other groups. The noise level there was considerable, as was the crowd at the buffet, which had good, tasty food. The waitresses were very nice and very friendly, despite the noise and the not always nice treatment from the French at the next table...||The laundry service works excellently!||I'd be happy to do it again, without a tour group...;-)
Thanks to other reviews regarding bed bugs, I had a strange feeling when we arrived at our first hotel on the tour. We were supposed to stay here for 2 nights...||We were greeted very friendly by the hotel staff with a welcome drink . ||Our room was number 502. Our room was very clean and spacious. No traces of bed bugs or other unwanted visitors. Towels were always available and we were lucky that we had WiFi in the rooms. On the floors above us, this was probably more of a problem. ||The breakfast was ok. I found it took a bit of getting used to, as they tried to combine Japanese and European breakfasts... I don't necessarily need warm noodles etc. early in the morning... But tastes are different..||We have the free shuttle from Took us from the hotel to the port, we agreed on a time with our driver as to when he should pick us up again - and that worked very well. ||The hotel here is of course not a luxury hotel, but we found it completely okay here.
We stayed for 2 nights, had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner. ||The breakfast food was pretty good, and the cooked-to-order eggs were delicious. However, there was no variety of food for dinner, and they were out of sparkling wine, so they only offered beer, which got boring. ||The room is on the inside of the 4th floor, so of course the view isn't great, and although it's a twin room, it's small for two people. The only good thing about it is that the Pokemon GO stadium is right in front of me and I can play against it 24 hours a day.
I spent a week here for a business trip. The room seems okay at first glance, but the bathroom door handle is hanging off, the lights are flashing, electrical cables are broken,... Furthermore, the room service signs were sometimes left in the hallway for two days, with odor nuisance. Windows cannot open. After showering, I put my used and broken shower cap in the trash can. Turns out that after cleaning the room, the shower cap was simply taken out of my trash can and put back in the bag instead of being given a new one! The towels are not even replaced in a week. At breakfast guests' dirty plates are left behind and when you sit down at the only clean table, albeit for 4 people, you get scolded and I was scolded in front of other guests. The WiFi is actually not worth mentioning, it doesn't work more than it does. The only plus are the friendly people at the reception. I won't be coming back here again and won't recommend it to anyone!
At the start of our tour, three of us stayed here. No luxury is required for such purpose. Rooms partly in need of renovation but clean ||with good service. Room at the front in a quiet location. Breakfast offering is also sufficient for Continental Europeans. Patience is required for preparations.
I would choose it everyday off my life the best holiday I ever had in my life
