T. W.By far the friendliest, nicest, helpfull and caring staff I have ever experienced making saying goodbye to them a sad farewell❤️❤️. Stunning location right on the beach where you can fall asleep with the crashing waves.
Only downside would be that the WiFi does not work in the rooms and one two point plug is not really sufficient to charge more than one device in a room.
Overall sweet and cozy small and safe accommodation where you fall in love with the staff.
C. A.Great if staying in the Royal Suites, other types could be cramped as there is very little noise insulation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, many good resturants within walking distance as well. Will definitely recommend!

R. R.Awesome location and rooms. Right next to the beach. The rooms with private bathrooms (Caboose) are great to stay in. It's actual train coaches modified into a room. The wheels and tracks are still there. Room has a nice bathroom, fridge and tea/coffee set and a private balcony overlooking the sea. Restaurant is at the front. Food is good- not 5-star. But overall the experience of spending the night in the train coach is awesome. Parking available.
R.For the price you pay, it's value for money. You can hear and see the sea waves during the night. What a pleasant place. Who know if the is the only experience of been on a train that you will ever experience in your life. Brings back good memories. The double bed in the room might make the place feel rather full so two single beds might be the answer. Staff are super friendly, they are the best.

G. B.We stopped for lunch on the way back to CPT and had fish and chips. The fish was so fresh and well-cooked and the chips light and crispy. The menu may be a little limited but when you have the view over Santos Beach that you have, you can't really go wrong 👍

A few points to make your stay worth while. - Book a royal sea view cabin (B or D), yes. A little pricer than the other places (I think just over R1000) but it comes with A huge breakfast, your own private balcony over the ocean, a remote for a very secure parking only for royal cabin stays and your key tags into the gate for quick access to the beach.
Breakfast was yummy! Service is good and the rooms are absolutely amazing!!!! Huge beds, towels, clean bedding and a clean bathroom.
Only thing, the waves are really really loud if you are trying to sleep and are not used to it, be warned.
D. I.My fiance and I had a wonderful experience. The lady (kim) who showed us our room (carriage) was very friendly and polite. Going to sleep and waking up with the sound of the waves was our favorite part.
T. T.I have stayed here twice before on a solo trip and always enjoy falling asleep to the sound of waves while in a train compartment. The bar is fully stocked and the menu ample for all food tastes.
And its super affordable.

What makes this accommodation very worth while is the amazing service from the staff. my younger brother was feeling unwell and the duty manager asked one of the waiters who was studying in the medical field to see to him. they quickly organized everything so quickly it was very impressive to see their genuine care and good intent! thumbs up for the team at Santos
A. S.Bit pricey for the room(royal). The duvet cover had seen better days. The room was supposed to be clean, but used underpants was found on the ground at the end of the bed. One towel was torn and if you are not an earlybird the guests next door uses all the hot water and you are left with a nice cold shower on a winter's morning.
R. R.Accommodation is very basic and online photos do not depict the actual...... Views are awesome and the sound of the waves rolling in onto the beach magnificent. Does give you some feel of being on a train-- is pricy though. Note bathroom amenities are TRULY communal. Food is good and staff friendly.
M. H.Surprising that towels and complimentary toiletries supplied in the double rooms but not the singles. Made for awkward situation as we were 3 in the party and had both accomodation types. Unusual and generally good value for money . Will stay again.

L. V.What a weird experience! The bed is the only thing that fit into the room and make sure to ask for a room that is not next to the bathroom, the shower fan runs through the night.
The beautiful ocean sounds are the only thing that is magical about it. Not to bad for the price range, it even includes a light breakfast.
V. B.Lovely views from the deck and a great place for a drink after work with friends. Took my pare ts here for supper when they visited me, and they couldn't be more complimentary of the service and of the brilliant menu. Super affordable for students as well. Love love love it here!
M. K.Given that it is a train the rooms are small and you have to share a very small but clean toilet with a number of people. However, as far as the view goes, you will find no better! The reception is very friendly and the site, as well as car parking is very safe.
R. M.They did a good job with this concept. They have made a very pleasant bar/restaurant area, you get to hear the ocean outside your window, and it's a fun way to use an old train. The staff was all very nice. That being said, there are discomforts associated with it being a train, like there being no private bathroom option and we could hear people outside of our room in every direction very loudly. There is no internet in the rooms but they have it available in the restaurant. For the price that we paid, it is good value. It's a fun idea that we enjoyed trying, but we definitely could have been more comfortable in not a train.
M. K.Situated on the most beautiful beach in Mosselbay. The fish & calamari was perfect, sushi & well presented cocktails, fresh oysters. Our waitress was also a treat. Our Mothers day table was special, thanking them for the effort.

J. B.We loved it here. What a vibey and super spot. With the most spectacular views of Santos beach, perched up high for as far as the eye can sea the oceans horizon. A busy and great restaurant. Food is good, staff are great, friendly and helpful. A real special place. Amazing milkshakes and cocktails. Tge fresh Hake is so yummy. A place we regularly visit.

Hygiene in bathrooms not of the greatest and cleaning throughout the wagons not the best.
Breakfast stays the same and lame even if you pay up.
Good for the Traveller that pass Mosselbay through and need 1 night accommodation, but still do not expect much.
Restaurant got a spectacular view, but get injustice done by a weak menu, and food rated at 45%.
They need to get jacked up if they want to cater for the upper class and foreign tourist, or it will become a slump.

Was a bit disappointed in the morning when we want to leave early.
Had to wait till after 07h30 the morning to book out and pay.
No koffee available in the morning.
Manager did not want to cancel breakfast and transfer it to another person.

What a great idea to turn a train into a hotel. We stayed in royal suite C. The bed was very good and the shutters at the top of the compartment kept it pleasantly cool inside. We also had a private terrace with a view of the ocean, absolutely AMAZING!

V. C.The place is atypical and nice for the location and the view of the ocean. However, the rooms are very narrow and impractical for 2 people with luggage.||The toilets and shower are shared and for my taste a little limited. ||The wifi doesn't work in the wagons and at reception it's complicated to get the connection.||Not really excited!
R. E.Pros: As a new experience it is very good. The location is unbeatable, next to the beach. The restaurant is very good and has very good prices. The hostel is clean. ||Cons: The comfort is not very good, all the spaces are small, for large people it can be uncomfortable. The employees in general are half-hearted, there are two or three who really serve well (both in the hostel and in the restaurant part), but the others lack a bit of attitude. ||There is no common space to relax nor do they have a kitchen. There is no wifi in the rooms, only in the reception and dining room.
F. m.The location is very original, a train set on a splendid beach. We stayed there in winter and the day was really bad and we didn't take advantage of it. Double room with bathroom and our daughter in a single room without bathroom in the "for young people" area. Both are very cute (the rooms are created in the compartments). The restaurant is decent. Decent breakfast included in the price. Hostel price...
A. F.I got the room with a private bathroom and we loved it. It's a train converted into a hotel, don't expect a 5-star resort, but the place is lovely to watch the sunrise. the room has a good space and the bathroom is great, sleeping with the sound of the waves is comforting. It's not worth staying for many days, but up to 3 nights I highly recommend it.
