H. F.We felt very comfortable and very safe. The hosts are very warm and friendly! Very clean and nice accommodation. The rooms were very large and clean. The entire complex is very well maintained with a great garden and pool. In the evening a table in the restaurant including a shuttle was organized for us. Great breakfast with homemade muesli and, as a highlight, an ostrich scrambled egg! :-) We felt very comfortable and would come back here at any time.
N.We originally planned to stay only one night. But after dinner at a restaurant, we got food poisoning and stayed an extra night. Thank goodness! Our hosts, Hermien and Reinhardt, cared for us for a day and helped us get back on our feet with medication and food. The guesthouse is on the outskirts of town, a 15-minute walk from the city center. The house itself is excellent. Very nice, large rooms (we had a balcony) and large bathrooms. A beautiful pool with a sunbathing lawn—everything just fits perfectly. Incredibly friendly and helpful hosts. The breakfast also leaves nothing to be desired. A perfect base for day trips into the Little Karoo. A thousand thanks again to our hosts, Hermien and Reinhardt.

Very nicely designed pool area with old wind turbine and old tools. Spacious rooms with great bathrooms. Very good location for getting to the Cango Caves.

When we arrived we were overwhelmed with the many options for excursions and things to do. There are many nice restaurants nearby - the restaurant maps are also available in the hotel - so you know in advance what you are getting yourself into.
The rooms are well maintained and well equipped. The only thing missing is a hairdryer in the room. The bathroom is clean and modernly furnished.
The breakfast was very tasty and typically African with fried or scrambled eggs. There is tea, coffee and two different juices.
Unfortunately we only stayed one night, but it was very nice here! If we end up in South Africa again, we'll come back to Oudtshoorn and here too.
H. S.As soon as we arrived we had the feeling of being locked in. Two doors were opened and then immediately locked again. The furnishings in the lounges gave us a tired, old-fashioned impression. For example, our room had a safe, but with a key. In addition, the safe was so small that there was no room for anything in it. The bed was too short. There was a roll of toilet paper in the toilet. The shower product provided was of the cheapest quality. The towels were clean, but you could tell they had been used a lot. The breakfast room was in a dark corner. We can't say what breakfast was like, because we couldn't have had much breakfast there. The whole thing seemed very depressing to us.
E.A very nice and clean guesthouse. The owner and her staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. If you're staying overnight in Oudtshoorn, this is the place to book.
A. R.Upon arrival it initially seems as if you are entering a "fortress". Everything is locked, but behind the doors lies a paradise. Modern location, tastefully decorated, large rooms, super clean and a lovely garden. You immediately feel welcome with this family. Upon arrival you will immediately be informed whether they can arrange or book something for you and they have the menus of the best restaurants in the area available. Honesty bar is available 24/7. Breakfast is served at the desired time and is well prepared. Recommended for dinner is restaurant Nostalgie: especially their Bobotie!
H. B.On our tour through South Africa we stopped for two nights in Oudtshoorn. we wanted to visit an ostrich farm and cross the Swartberg Pass. The Karoo Sun guesthouse is the ideal base. Since we stayed for two nights, we got the nicest rooms with a view of the garden where there was a small but nice swimming pool. The breakfast is correct and you can ask anything to the hostess and her husband. Probably because of their small children, the swimming pool is covered with a net that is immediately removed upon request
