Reviews of Garden Court Nelson Mandela Boulevard
A bit of establishment and has aged a bit in my opinion. Though rooms are clean food options are somewhat limited, but close enough to the city to find great alternatives to eat out
Some (not all) Service-people were attentive and helpful. Here i call Maurice and Aqueela.
Most Service-people were very slow and seemingly didn't like "disturbing" tourists.
Rooms are outdated. The plastic-curtain in the "bathtub-shower" is a dirty no-go. Some Sockets allowed european plugs. No Socket available in visible area around the bed. Only one behind a small cabinet i had to remove.
Location more than 50 walking minutes from Waterfront. Uber is possible.
Food in the restaurant - by the way in all "SouthernSun"-Hotels we stay with our group - was cold nearly always. Breakfast very slow, especially eggs-station, long cues were there nearly always. 3 Coffee machines available also for dinner. Access times to Buffett-Restaurant very strict - but not used to prepare food in advance. They started when guests came in. No baggage handling.
Amazing staff,Takalani could even speak shona she made us feel welcome and was EXTRA patient with us when checking in.The hotel is oldish. The owner needs to do a renovation
Great place. Great food, great service great everything. Only thing we missed out was the amount of milk they give in the rooms and conference rooms.
I'm disappointed that there are no fridges and micro-ovens in the rooms. Dinner is expensive (R250 per person).
Service is good. Friendly staff gives you a warm welcome. My son's phone was lost and the manager found it.
Location is best for the city view.
It's not the newest of hotels. However, the service staff are great, which makes every stay pleasant.
The hotel is situated in a quiet area on the slopes of the mountain - so depending on what room you are given, you could have great sea or mountain views. Breakfast options are aplenty, and you are almost certain to be satisfied with the variety.
The hotel is in decent location, easy access to and from main roads. In a very quiet area.|Overlooks the harbour and the city.|The breakfast is decent. |There is however no brush for toilet, you have to wait for room service to clean the toilet.|Baths are small.||Staff is friendly. I would book it again.
Met with friends who was staying at the property for supper. The hotel was quiet which was a plus. The view from the restaurant was breathtaking.
The buffet was delicious.
The service was awesome.
My Anyhoo's 🤪...Attended a Principals Conference, and guess what...AMPLE PARKING🤣🤣. Yes, i was immediately in my happy space as it immediately set the tone for the day. The venue was great, service was good and the location quite accessible. It was a good day. I unfortunately cannot comment on the rooms, but judging by the standards I experienced, I trust it's a 'good to go'...So...until next time...😉
Best place with an outdoor and view of the ocean, cbd and the waterfront
Buffet dinner can be improved. Very basic and rather boring. Offer a roast but no roast potatoes. No signage for meals like at breakfast buffet. Pumpkin soup hidden no label. Waitress took ages to bring drinks to dinner table. Front desk excellent. Breakfast and staff at breakfast very good. Had to ask for aircon to be switched on in dining hall. Please remember to do that before breakfast starts. Overall it was average. Hotel needs a new look and feel. Still feels like 1980 with those carpets.
Had a lovely stay and dining experience. The buffet option was fantastic!! Lovely pool area. Secure undercover parking so my mind was at ease with the safety of my car.Hotel is not too far from everything. Average 15 to 20 min drive to the waterfront. But the best part of my stay was the view. Absolutely goregous! Thank you Garden Court!
We enjoyed a two day stay. Reception was friendly and organised my wife a birthday treat. Restaurant staff very friendly and enjoyed the included breakfast. We were lucky to enjoy buffet for dinner, and once again the chefs did a good job, food was very delicious. The chef was on duty and serve us with a smile. Only negative there is nothing close by to do and you can't walk in the street in the evening, and have to uber / drive if you want to go somewhere. Otherwise a great view of Table Mountain and Cape Town Harbour and the beaches.
Recently stayed over on business trip. Rooms were very clean but only essentials available in room. Friendly staff and lovely meals however after a day or two it does become repetitive. Very limited supply of coffee etc in room.
Attended a conference there, the views were great 👍 the staff friendly and the rooms clean. I felt safe staying there. Keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍 👌
Garden Court Hotel is good. Rooms are clean and spacious, although TV size is mall and no water bottles are replenished daily. The service from staff is wonderful; they are kind and assist with smiles willingly so, although their service is ULTRA SLOW most of the time. I had brought this to management's attention and they said it'd improve although it did not. Other instances were "forgivable" however the last one got me heavenly upset. On day of checkout the door jammed with my things inside. I was heading to the airport so you can imagine the panic I got in. Staff eventually assisted, although their speed was critical at this point, although they did not disappoint with their slowness-that experience put me off completely with its manager. They ok, but SLOW.
We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary for the weekend and really enjoyed it.
Our room was very nice and the views from the room was amazing.
Breakfast as well as the room service was excellent.
Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Neat rooms
Just no Bar Fridge that would make a great difference!
Lots of busy traffic noise, incase you looking for a quiet destination!
Had a awesome time so clean and the foid just awesome
Great location. Spacious rooms. Breakfast needs some work. Poor selection, unfriendly staff.
Spent some wonderful time in a quiet and warm place. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are comfortable, with views all the way to the ships. Breakfast is healthy and more than enough for any appetite. The hospitality is at a higher level.
I really enjoyed my stay in there, as though it was planned, yet incidental!
The balanced nutritional food has got my digestive system on a cleansing circumstantial moment!!
The night & morning views from the balcony of Room 71... were just as enticing as the Hotel's Management and Staff personnel.
It's definitely a must call again, if I were to express my personal experience!!!
Service from the front desk is excellent. One unpleasant experience is your kitchen staff allowing people to dish without mask on. What I find more disgusting is to allow people to come to a dinner place wearing pijamas. This is unhygienic. I flagged this concern to your kitchen staff and my concern was brushed aside. Despite your good location and exceptional services by selected staff such excellent gets spoiled by reckless kitchen staff. Unless the practice gets changed one will have to think twice before making bookings with you
Great staff. Good food. And even better rooms. Loved the place the view from the room of table mountain is spectacular and a treat to the eyes. And the staff is also extremely courteous and helpful.
The only draw back is it's a bit far from the city center.
Good basic facilities. Breakfast buffet ok but not amazing. My room not cleaned or tidied, although bath mat removed. Sufficient parking and centrally located. No wifi provided at all apparently due to Eskom electricity issues. Does have a generator so power always available.
The is very professional.
I am of the opinion that the hotel shall diversify the menu, when there are groups from other countries, for more than three days
Excellent customer service and you even have a chance to break down the calories ( gym room) you gain from their amazing meals
It's central to most the iconic places to see in Cape Town, easy to get around to places from there. The Staff at the Breakfast room could learn some manners, The rooms are a bit outdated and too dark, it needs a bit of fresh paint or something to lighten them up.
Great place to stay, they have a great heater so you don't need to worry on the winter. The big minus ? the wifi was so limited, 350MB per day ? When my usage was not 350MB yet, the wifi said i've used all my available quota...
Very clean and good service. Restaurant and room cleaning service excellent, shame reception wasn't the same! Decor bit dated but good overall stay
The hotel is a pearl away from it all. However it is situated near private residence and some rooms faced other homes and doesn't provide the privacy one requires.
Nosi, Ntosh and Candus gives a warm welcome... Noma and Theresa knows no need to ask over and over again....they already knows their guest... Tsepo brilliant in the morning
I had one of the greatest experience,I really enjoyed my stay keep up the good work.😘
Good hotel not the best location though. Nice views from the sea facing rooms but could definitely do with an upgrade. Overall not a bad experience.
It is a very nice hotel, especially for a 3-star hotel. I only wish I could have stayed in a room with a view of the sea.
The stay was so comfortable, clean as ever, professional as ever even in this pandemic trying times. Thank you for your dedication and love for what you are doing. Friendly and professional staff
Rooms are well kept, the meals are always good the staff are friendly and the location is ideal to tour Cape town.
Been there a few times for breakfast and meetings. Food great, nice variety. Conference facilities also lovely. Service not bad.
All Staff were very helpful. The only negative is the lack of fridges in rooms which was a problem when one stayed for three weeks and had to be in meetings till late at night.
Made my stay enjoyable, were so caring. Was on crutches so they organize a wheelchair for the whole duration
What a welcome on checking in. Faith and Nazier you are appreciated for the extra mile you go to .Thanks to Trevor Philander for the welcome prezzy much appreciated, definitely recommending the place.
Very clean, from reception yo their Management they are very friendly. Wish I could visit the place again.
Room service only starts at 5pm. Lack of variety on both food and beverages menu. No assistance with laggagr
It's an alright place, the wind can get too load for comfort though.
Nice view of the harbour.
Friendly staff, the receptionists were so kind and made me feel at home..
Great food
Awesome views from the room
Everything is close by
Lovely place, will come back anyday!
Had a cake made for my daughter on her birthday during the PSI Nationals. Wow what a surprise. Thanks Trevor and team
Great hotel with spacious rooms to relax after a busy day in the City.
It was a wondeful experience. Promise to use the facility again. Will recommend to all my friends coming to Cape Town
Only reason I gave 3 stars, breakfast was good the place could be better ( cleaner and updated). No
We had a great time with my family on Christmas day. Thank you so much.
Fine.. Just fine... All was fine. Breakfast was good, all rest was fine.
One of the gems in the Tsogo Sun stable. Very good value for your money
Beautiful hotel with a stunning view over the city.
Work Meeting held @ one of the Halls... Lovely light meal early morning... Great lunch @ lunch time...
I always stay here when in Cape Town, I love that it is out of the city but close enough to still enjoy what the city offers.
Plenty of parking and close to city venues.
A beautiful place that only reminds you of paradise and tranquillity. Will definitely be back, no doubt
Impeccable and clean hotel. Welcoming staff. The catering is correct and the rooms are also very clean and well maintained. The bathroom is very decent and we felt comfortable in this place. At the end of the parking lot, you have a beautiful view of the lower town and the port. Leaving the hotel, going up, there is a small supermarket which is very practical for buying drinks or other small snacks for the day. I recommend this hotel for its overall service and staff service. From our room, beautiful view of Table Mountain.
Proximity to the city center. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Attentive staff.
We were there for two days and we were satisfied. The location is great, the rooms are of sufficient size. Unfortunately, the WiFi is limited to 350 MB and there was a lot going on at breakfast... but all in all, recommended. We would book it again.
Well located hotel. From this location you can easily go on tours in any direction. Very friendly, courteous staff. Here, like almost everywhere in South Africa, you immediately feel welcome.
Good food, excellent, very rich breakfast. It lies immediately below Table Mountain and offers great views towards Table Mountain and on the other side towards the harbor.
A bit far from everything, but in a quiet area. the hotel is clean and sober. The hotel's dining room is good. The personal like all South Africans, his smiling and helpful. There is a tour vendor in town just across the street from the entrance.
We stayed at this hotel twice. The first time there was no hot water in the room. The second time our room was bigger and the water was also warm. The food was very good and the wine too. Therefore only four stars. But the hotel is recommended.
Good location with very good service, very friendly staff, clean rooms, food including breakfast excellent and always fresh. Better than some 4 stars in Europe.||Every wish was fulfilled, checking in and out was also easy.
It is very remote, the rooms are large but a little poorly furnished, there is a water heater, but they don't give you water...if there is Nescafé and tea bags, you had to buy the water at the bar which is very poorly attended, In addition, sometimes I had to go get the key where the water was, not even if it was aged wine, the situation was very bad, there is nothing around...
