E. M.Ellerman house was simply amazing. The staff were flawless, they were incredibly friendly, welcoming and hospitable. This stunning hotel is truly a city paradise, we couldn’t help but extend our stay! Our first room we stayed in had our own pool, it was very comfortable and felt more like a home than a hotel room. We then moved into the main house and the views from our balcony were stunning. We had some amazing spa treatments that we both really enjoyed, we also went wine tasting and thoroughly enjoyed ellerman houses impressive collection. The art collection in the hotel is something so special, each piece is so captivating. Every evening the hotel presented a new menu, although not a huge selection of choices there was always something delicious you’d fancy. We also loved the dessert room in the hotel, they had freshly made cakes, pastries and candy that was available 24/7... Naughty!!! The staff couldn’t do enough for you, if there was something I really wanted for lunch but it wasn’t on the menu, they would accommodate. The drivers that the hotel arranged for us for our day/evening trips were all wonderful also. We cannot wait to come back!
S. M.If there is such a thing as perfection in a hotel experience, Ellerman House comes about as close as any property at which I’ve ever had the good fortune to stay. Yes, the views of the Atlantic are mesmerizing and beautiful. Yes, 1000+ works of museum quality South African art make each inch of the house interesting to stroll through. Yes, there is insane attention to detail in the decor and finishes. And yes, the generous inclusions in the accommodation rate such as cocktails, airport transfers, laundry, and snacks are unlike any city hotel I’ve ever seen. Yet, the best asset of this boutique 12 room hotel is the staff. They are so warm and so genuine in their care and desire to provide world class hospitality. They deliver their craft with mirror-high levels of polish. We were wowed by the seamless service and the ongoing proactive dialogue with the team to plan and enhance our experience. Yasser, Prince, Albright, and Edith in particular took such wonderful care of us throughout our stay.
There’s no question that Ellerman House is in a league of its own in Cape Town, and for that matter, just about anywhere else!
R. D.My husband and I visited to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and was given a quick tour of the grounds. When we got to our room, our luggage was already there and we received a thoughtful hand-written note and treats. We visited the art gallery and the wine tasting. We lounged at the pool and then had dinner at the restaurant. When we returned to our room after dinner, our bed was neatly made and some more treats and snacks were left for us to enjoy. The room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The walls throughout the property is adorned by an exquisite amount of art work, which is quite impressive. The breakfast the next morning, included a variety of snacks and was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay. The friendly staff, extraordinary view, spacious garden, relaxing environment and delicious food, definitely made our visit extra special.

Beer selection a bit disappointing, only SAB and some Devil's Peak, I would've thought they'd support some Western Cape micro breweries, but alas. Very impressive wine collection. I thoroughly enjoyed it, very special, but pricey for locals.

I am fortunate to have traveled the globe for work, but this trip was for my honeymoon and as our first leg of our once in a lifetime trip we were met with the open arms of the Ellerman house. The rooms are exquisite, the food is incredible, the team of staff at the hotel go above and beyond to make your stay so wonderful. We never wanted to leave. There is something magical about the Ellerman house and I cannot wait to come back and celebrate anniversary trips for decades to come.

The patio out the front of the bar has an wonderful view of the ocean and surrounding area. Just a sublime experience. Thank you to the staff for a delightful afternoon.

K. G.We stayed at the Ellerman House for 3 nights and it exceeded all expectations. It's beautifully decorated, has great atmosphere and fantastic food. The staff are super friendly and really take the time to explain the house and the history behind it. There are often some events, e.g. sundowners with free gin tasting, or something similar. Just a great experience! Hopefully we'll come back :-)

M.This hotel was recommended to me by a friend.... and I was not disappointed.||the place is magical, welcome like...received at a friend's house.||The service is present and the 'we are given the impression of being at home, we can go to the kitchen and ask the chef for a special dish.....||it's a big house, with large, very comfortable rooms and an exceptional view! !||We had dinner in the evening on the terrace, with a few glasses of good South African wine.||the breakfast is magnificent, served under the parasols....||And the best part....: our return flight was at 11 p.m., a room was offered to us the whole time daytime....
