We booked Onomo Hotel in Durban with friends for the weekend over the 13th of July 2024 as the Springboks were playing against Ireland in the Kingspark Stadium 🏟. What must we say...Onomo Durban welcomed us like family members... The service, the rooms, everything was amazing. Especially the friendly service of Sisanda and Murphy the manager was priceless. Strangers became family in a very short period of time. 🥰 We definitely recommend Onomo hotel in Durban to everyone and we will be back hopefully very soon. Greatly priced and conviently situated near the beaches and all other amenities. The rooms were very spacious and very neat. I would recommend it for anyone looking to save on accomodation while also being comfortable. Staff is very friendly and the overall hotel is great. Also has a wonderful restaurant on the roof top with great views of the city. Good for a drink with friends or just to catch a sports game.

I just wish it was much much closer to the beach, but everything about is extra. The service her is extra ordinary. I love their food. It is really good. I've enjoyed being at their Cape Town hotel and the experience has been always amazing. I remember I offered my suite to someone else, once I came back for it, I wanted to regret myself. It definitely deserves multiple visits, it's one of the best price wise. Has one of the best breakfast buffet ever.

We stayed at the Onomo Hotel for my Partners Comrades race this June, the rooms were clean and well kept, the service was great, Johannes at the front desk was an absolute gem and helped us with all our queries and needs as guests during our stay, The food was sublime and the morning Buffets were stunning, The service received for all the runners was amazing and very well catered for especially on race day! Although our room didn't have a sea view the evening views from the rooftop bar are a stunning sight to see. It's a quick walk to the beach and the location was great for the comrades expo. We were very happy with our stay.

We had our Super Tyres year end function and prizegving over the weekend. Conference room was great and the staff were excellent in changing it to our dining area .Food was fantastic . Lovely rest area for socializing and dancing if you feel so inclined.

Lovely classy establishment situated in a safe part of town.The aesthetics are chic with rich colours and stunning murals. We enjoyed our stay, especially the well designed rooms, our wholesome breakfast buffet and the luxurious pool. Great reviews on the mobile spa option even though we didn't try it out. Only delays were the lack of consistent presence at reception when we arrived (we had to peek into the admin room just behind reception) as well as in the morning for a bit. A sore point was our booking for 2 which was 2 single beds put together and 2 single bed bedding which we could not use individually or combined as a couple. We called reception and they could not help with different bedding as housekeeping had closed the linen room. Hoping the few snags are sorted by our next visit.

Great location for a surfer. Beach and surf shops are walkable. Staff is organized. Pool is just big enough for lap swim. Gym does the job. Onomo is very similar to Hampton inn by Hilton in US. Which is to say not fancy, but good to very good across the board. And a good value!

Location is good enough if you are conducting business in and around the city of Durban and not expecting anything more than a very basic 3 star experience. Even so, the value for money is not great. Rooms are clean, but need a little TLC here and there. Colleagues said their beds were very uncomfortable, but I clearly got lucky, as my bed was very comfortable. If you order from the a la carte menu, be prepared to wait a long time for your food to arrive. Same applies to drinks orders. Seems as if they were still on skeleton staff post Covid, or maybe they were unprepared for the influx of people attending Indaba. IMO, City Lodge is much better value for money.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel when I visited to meet a friend from out of town who was staying there. Having been aware of it from the time it was built, I’d never paid much attention to it save to admire the modern architecture. When I went inside, I found that the modern theme was maintained and accentuated. Wide open spaces inside and out, distinctive rectangular lines, a soft and neutral colour palette on the walls and stylish fonts on wall markings all serve to create an impression of class and attention to detail. I particularly liked the lighting which gave the reception area a warm and welcoming ambiance. I met my friend at the roof-top Topaz Bar and was pleased with the service received. Space is limited within the hotel and so it would be easy to feel claustrophobic. However, the clever use of space, architecture and decor help make the place feel bigger than what it actually is. I did not get to see the rooms but my friend was satisfied with hers. She also appreciated the proximity of the hotel to the beach and the Durban International Convention Centre where she was attending a conference. I will definitely visit here again.

I'm not very happy with the fact that its winter and there is no blanket on the twin beds in my room. Upon request at the reception I was informed that there are no blankets available for me to use. The first option is they will give me a duvet inner or alternatively I need to pay a refundable deposit of R200.00 to access a heater in order to be warm. I engaged the manager on duty and a fan heater was sent to me however the inbuilt socket doesn't allow the round plug. Now I have to freeze for the next two nights unless some guests checks out so that I can have a blanket. I'm mad as hell 🥺🥺

Very tiny room, no blankets provided even upon request. I was told none are available due to cleaning delays. Need to clean more often. No view of the beach or ocean. Very quiet rooms. Gym fascilities available but very old equipment.

Nice location. Rooms are not so good for adults. Design is beautiful from outside. Great security from parking to rooms. Large parking and undercover. Good breakfast. Staff is friendly and helpful. I did not like the design of the rooms with cupboards like student accommodation.

It was ok, the artwork around the sitting area is amazing, I've shared a picture from one of my favorites. The hotel generally looks amazing. A couple of issues that really didn't work for me which i think the hotel should work on. 1.there was no extra blanket in the bedroom, the air conditioning was only emitting cold air. The Receptionist working the night refused to bring up an extra blanket for us because he was the only person manning the area so i had to go down to him to collect a blanket only to realize once I'm in the. Room that it's a really small blanket. For a single bed. 2.The was no hot water from the shower in the morning, and this was just frustrating. 3. The breakfast area was not well organized. The food being served could also improve.

We stayed here for 2 nights... let’s start with the positives, it’s a newish hotel, nice swimming pool and a very good tour guide TJ tours who is willing to taxi wherever and whenever. ||Our main issue was the location for tourists it is not good... car needed or to use a taxi service.||Upon check in the staff were not the most professional... basics need brushing up on. Overall if this hotel was in a better location (UMHLANGA) we would stay again but it’s not.||For any tourist reading this please book close to Umhlanga.

I very nice hotel when looked at a glance but because of the below smaller and finer details this is my reason for my rating. 1. for the price of the rooms they should come with a fridge 2. the extractor fans in both the toilet and shower was not working 3. my bed was caving in and slanting to the middle from both sides and the springs can be felt on the edges :( Either than that the look and feel of the hotel is beautiful, modern and clean but because of the above I would not go back.

Complements to the chef🙌👏. The place is beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. I loved everything and the fact that there was a shower gel dispenser, that's really convenient. Absolutely loved it will definitely come again when I'm in Durban.

Friendly staff, well appointed facilities. The only problem is that nobody seemed to know where the stairs were, they were not near the lifts which is the case in most hotels, I'd hate to be in an emergency situation there. Also what if the patrons wanted to walk and not use the lifts, that was not available

Guys this hotel staff can be abusive at times, being constantly asked if you stay here and have to provide proof hay this is not a good place to be. It's a good place but the staff's behavior and service is very unprofessional. I wouldn't book here again in my life

Funky Minimal modern and affordable. Definitely will stay there again. Feels fairly new and loved the vibe. Appeals to millennials as far as decor. Can see some amazing after hours live entertainment happening in this venue not sure if it does. Only downside was check in process which took very long and unfortunately you cannot pay and book online so that’s definitely a downside. Five stars if they can speed that up.

Onomo hotel is amazing, Thank you gor for creating magic memories for my mum yesterday at your Topaz Restaurant and Bar,My mother could not stop talking about the event and mentioned that the views are breathtaking. The food was good and The DJ was awesome. Special thanks to Sindiswa who served her and Lee the Manager was the best host ...Mothers Day Breakfast event was 10/10 .

Good facilities and parking. We always attend our business meetings at the hotel, and it is always a comfortable conference. One can even order from the kiosk/bar, and they offer to bring it into the meeting for you. I have yet to stay for the night though.

The rooms are way too small for comfortability and the bed is very low. the card system means you can't take a lift to another floor other than your room otherwise you take the stairs. Can't order a bucket of ice unless you buy something at the bar. Aesthetically the place is nice but other things are more tedious

For us it was the perfect hotel for an overnight stay as the beach is a few minutes walk away. We had a suite, which was worth the small extra charge if you wanted it to be more spacious. Bedroom, a kind of living room with kitchenette, an open bathroom, shower and toilet each separately. Friendly staff, clean rooms and free parking available.
