Attended training at Malibu All staff were very professional and courteous. Catering needs met beyond expectations.... vegetarian meals were available. Food was recommendable. Dining area, view was amazing of the beachfront. Only downfall was the table arrangement...there is literally a squeeze between tables.

The room had a beautiful view of the sea however the carpet smelt damp and dusty. Teacups were dirty and the bathroom is in need of renovation, they are dated. The elevator also died and climbing to the 4th floor was a nightmare !! However the staff was so helpful and kind, they allowed us to check in early from the cruise. I also enjoyed how close the hotel was to the beach, very beautiful.

The conference venue was beautiful, the food was was also good. But these beach front hotels need to fight Municipality to sort out the sewers. You can have toilets and pipes backing up in a hotel. The smell is horrid.

Just average, really. Well located, but no spectacular thing to say about anything else they have to offer. Also, just make sure you don't go to the beach after checking out or feel the need to change your clothes. Hotel and surrounding facilities are not that friendly and available to ensure that you clean up, dry up, or change again before you depart. Decide and stick to it. They won't fit your inconvenience in. Otherwise, they're trying shame.

The rooms are clean and kept clean.But it couldn't hurt them to change or upgrade and put (new) our days appliances.The toilet..taps kettle all old or old school.The hotel of that status is suppose to have all in things in my opinion.Maybe its the floor i was at.Hear me right the hotel and stuff are all great.

Still a decent hotel, but sadly, the area has been allowed to slip. Not very safe, and not much of a police presence to keep visitors safe. Tragic, because it is in front of one of the best beaches in the country.

Room were sufficient! But waited literally half an hour each time we wanted to use the elevators. The breakfast was very good though. This is also on a very busy street and check in was quite an issue with no parking available to do so.

My family and I stayed in a sea facing room, it was a wonderful, breath-taking experience! Very friendly staff, all our requests were met including the bar fridge that was requested prior our arrival. Breakfast was also great, nicely prepared Watching the sunrise from our room was really amazing, best holiday ever!😎

Me and my husband stayed on the 19th floor. The view faced the beach front and it was exquisite. The breakfast was very enjoyable and the best. I liked the fact that there is a spur right inside the hotel entrance. We were wishing for a drink around 9pm and the cocktail bar was right there to serve us. I felt safe and very relaxed. Would go back anytime.

Very convenient location, rooms are neat, the breakfast as usual there's a variety and it's amazing. The staff never disappoints, they are always friendly and have Ubuntu. There was just a minor issue with the lifts around breakfast time. But loved it and looking forward to visiting again

Staff are very kind and friendly, the hotel does not have a gym but they have a spur downstairs which is great for a tasty meal any time of the day. Excellent buffet breakfast. The pool is nice and clean and can swim anytime of the day. Overall a great place to stay if you are very busy and need a good place to be in and out of.

Getting from the airport to the hotel was a stress due to a certain taxi service... Being greated by the lovely reception lady Deirdre (the Indian lady) was very welcoming and relaxed my irritated state. She was very helpful and we appreciate her good customer service. The rooms was clean and neat. We booked the sea view which was great. The beds was very comfortable. Clean white linen and white towels. The rooms had a desk which was great seeing that I had work to finish off. Clean barthroom. So great job from the cleaning staff. There's a spur downstairs. A little neat and nicely layedout convenience store. And I bar I think. The breakfast was a full on continental breakfast. A huge variety and everything was nice... Upon check out Sah helped us and was also very helpful and friendly. A all round great choice and very happy that Southern Sun is our preferred hotels of choice... Keep up the good work.

We hosted a cycling tour from Joburg to Durban, arriving at Garden Court South Beach at the end of the tour. To say it was chaos on arrival is an understatement. The staff did their best to help and were very accommodating but this hotel did not feel like it a Tsogo Sun Group hotel. Not all the lifts were working, and the ones that were working were not being managed. Kids were pushing all the buttons and we waited 15 minutes to get a lift. One of our guests was stuck in an elevator for 20 minutes that got stuck. Outside the lifts a fight even broke out between women because tempers were high with the lift situation. All of this can be avoided having a lift attendant managing the situation. Rooms were clean and comfortable but shower had no pressure. Not the worst stay and but we won't be back ever again.

The quality of meat st the Spur does not keep to the reputation of Gardener Court. I have complained previous to The Spur manager. I will not be eating at that Spur again.

The hotel was quiet alright. Very friendly staff working there. The parking isn't free, you have to pay a small fee of R60 per day. They have a nice private pool overlooking the beach for those days when you don't want to go the beach. The hotel is walking distance from the beach, restaurants and other activities. I felt like their breakfast could do with a hit of improving. It wasn't up there with the best I've had in most hotel.

Not great. Aircon didnt work properly, lift floors were wet after kids come out of pools. Food was fantastic. Surrounds outside are not pleasant. Urine smells, beggars and loiterers everywhere. Hotel staff do their best though.

Young vibrant staffers at the front desk, and they are quite helpful. Modern but basic lobby. Newly refurbished rooms in keeping with the times. Sad looking poolside, but the beachside location of the hotel more than compensates. Wide selection of food at breakfast, and I specifically recommend their croissants! This hotel offers value for money.

The hotel is loud and busy but that’s the location it’s situated at. Reception is lovely especially Lihle ! She is a superstar. All in all great fun we had.

The rooms is a little cramped but I can deal with that. However, there is no fridge in the room which is really frustrating when travelling with a child and need to store things like yoghurt and juice for them. However, their porter service is very professional and readily available the moment you take your bags out of the car. Their breakfast was also very delicious especially because they had such a wide selection of foods and variety within each type of food.

Been some time since I was booked here. Same imposing clean slab and lots of glass front view, love it. Low point was the pace of clearing a large group and worst being made to so slowly snake through those banklike tapes. I felt sorry for individuals and families. The hotel could find another lobby, door or floor to handle (known) large groups. Now to take you into the lobby. Changes changes, open plan restaurant and bar, exquisite and inviting. (Oopsy not a single photo taken) The shop needs some creativity to catch up. Fast steady elevators denied

I slept there for four nights, the service is extremely good and it is right in the beach front with the nice view to the beach. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good service starting from the from the receptionists, cleaners, and their food . I will definitely stay there when I visit Durban next time.

Garden Court South Beach is wonderful. Beautiful, the stuff is amazing warm and kind, very clean. House Keepers for me did it. This is the perfect place to be during a vacation .We stayed in a facing sea view room with 2 double beds clean and neat.Food is so delicious and well prepared. Friendly staff always keeping their smiles.Well done ladies and gentlemen see you next time.

Its a nice place to be however the standard has declined, no pens or righting pads, things like sugar milk etc are so limited you have to call for it. The spur located within the hotel is busy and patrons do not get that special attention they are used to, as much as I personally understand the route cause, it shouldn't make patrons to choise. The Frontline ladies at the hotel , house keepers, security, Bobby and others remain the main reason why I choose to come over and over regardless of these minor hiccups. Keep it up brothers and sisters.

The hotel is huge, so the offering is appropriate. Shop and drinks vending machine in the lobby. |The room was fine (12th floor). WiFi only 350 Mb per day free of charge. |The breakfast tasted okay but it was too crowded and the lines were long everywhere. The room was not very inviting. Dinner in the integrated restaurant was a disaster. The buffet is far too small for the number of seats. You always queued for 20-30 minutes.|The offer was manageable, the taste was at the lowest level and if something was empty, it wasn't refilled. |The location opposite the beach is generally good, but rather unsafe. Fellow travelers were robbed on the street in broad daylight.

There seems to be a lot of riffraff out and about in the evening.|The hotel is newly renovated, has modern rooms with two wide, separate beds of good quality.|The food was good, but the restaurant on the first floor is a bit modest. The restaurant on the ground floor is currently being remodeled, which may serve as an explanation.|Wi-Fi is complicated to log in and after about 350 MB you have to pay for it.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! I went to attend a conference, stayed for 8 days and had a good experience. The hotel is on the seafront, close to the Durban International Convention Centre. It is also just a few minutes away from Ushaka Marine and the football stadium. I stayed in a double room, with two double beds on the 19th floor with a sea view. I found the room comfortable, spacious, well-cleaned and provided with room service. Wifi worked properly. Many elevators. Breakfast plentiful, tasty and with a great view of the sea. Attentive and polite staff. Highlight for the hotel restaurant: very pleasant, with good food, great price and good service. I recommend a visit to the restaurant there, especially the a la carte food, which is always very tasty! In front of the hotel there is a kind of market, with local crafts, I visited this market during the day, at night it is not recommended. Just like going out on foot at night is not recommended. Use Uber!

The hotel is in a good location in South beach. Unfortunately it's getting a bit old. I had a sea view room on the top floor. The view was fantastic. The room was fine and comfortable. The only downside is that South Beach isn't exactly the safest area. Nevertheless, I felt very safe and can recommend the hotel to everyone. Just be careful not to go out on the streets alone at night.||From the hotel you can get to the city center of Durban pretty quickly and the beach is just opposite the hotel.

Good Hotel. Spacious, clean room with a magnificent view of the sea. Excellent and varied buffet restaurant. Mention elevator transport, there are 5 of them so you don't have to wait regardless of the crowds. The only problem is that you risk hearing things during the night that won't invite you to take a walk in the neighborhood. Let's say it's pretty messy.

A hotel that lacks nothing but does not have anything left over either. The lobby is somewhat modest and with little infrastructure. Perhaps a little more space for relaxation with armchairs and some coffee tables to read, check emails, have a drink or simply spend some time, would not hurt at all. However, there is a restaurant/confectionery attached to it that can be accessed directly from the hotel or from outside. Of course, staying inside forces you to consume.||The equipment in your rooms is adequate. Comfortable bed, amenities, hair dryer and other toiletries, safe, wi-fi service and direct access to the terrace where the pool is located with its respective lounge chairs (this, of course, for the room on the 2nd floor that It was our turn, but not for those on the upper floors).||Invaluable location, which only requires crossing the street to fully enjoy the beach, the public pools or simply the pedestrian path that borders the beach and by the that one can walk, ride a bike, run, etc; along its entire length (if I remember correctly, it is more than 4 km).||If you go by car you can choose to leave it on the street, without any type of security but free of charge, or take advantage of the garage cover offered by the hotel, of course with an additional charge.||Another positive value is the proximity to its shopping center, where there is a shopping center that has the most diverse stores, a casino and various gastronomic options.||Recommended.
