I have been waiting years to visit Satyagraha house and was not disappointed. The feeling was being in a different vibration. It was peaceful pure and light. The staff were all so kind and helpful. It was an uplifting experience. Thank you.

Being of Indian origin, this place has a special significance for me due to it being Gandhi Ji’s residence for many years. Is it a must visit in Joburg, maybe not. But if you do have time, and you are a history enthusiast, you should come here

This guesthouse is sublime. I don't regret booking my last night in Johannesburg there, despite the price. The place is beautiful and relaxing. Above all, it was an opportunity to discover Gandhi's South African years and the influence they may have had on his future destiny.

This magnificently wooded place offers a soothing and relaxing setting. This hotel museum, dedicated to Gandhi, is fascinating, each piece captivates us and takes us back in time. Our dinner by the fire was sublime, in total harmony with the state of mind of the establishment. The vegetarian dishes were delicious! The very friendly staff fully accompanied us on our trip, both through the tour in French of the rooms of the hotel museum, and through their advice for discovering the surrounding area. Thank you so much !

Located in a quiet area of Johannesburg, this museum hotel is filled with charm, history and spirituality. An ultra welcoming team who show you around the museum and tell the story of Gandhi. Beautiful luxurious room in a refined decor. Meals are served in Gandhi's former house. Very nice address.

It was sold to us as a charming hotel and, honestly, it is not. As a bed and breakfast/pension (this is its Tripadvisor definition) it is certainly at the top as a hotel...let's talk about it. Basic rooms, equally bathroom, no wardrobe but a "drying rack" for clothes. Wall window without the possibility of closing, only white veil curtains very Ghandi but also very useless when the sun rises, you have to wake up. Excellent dinner but... there is no wine and I don't like dining with fruit juice. The environment is very zen and relaxing with a beautiful garden but also very "basic" in terms of comfort especially after a long plane journey.||The staff is kind and helpful but I can't help but think that, if the room Had ours been occupied next door, privacy would also have gone out the window.

Very nice place to relax. Lots of attention from the staff. Very comfortable rooms but a little too warm due to underfloor heating. Do not hesitate to report it. Good meals of South African specialties. And the must for lovers of India and Gandhi: he stayed there for a year. Meals are served in the house he occupied, his room which he had installed in the mezzanine can be visited. Take the time to meditate on it...

A unique place in the world. ||The house where Ghandi lived in Johannesburg, with the architect Hermann Kalenbach, designed by him for both of them. ||Here we can feel inner peace and the beauty of simplicity. ||The restoration of the house, the photos and texts transport us to the time of its original inhabitants and to a whole way of being and feeling.||Not to be missed. Even if you just want to visit the Museum house.

Beautiful moment of relaxation, zenitude. We learn a lot about Gandhi's life and the beginning of his fight, his resistance to inequality. Vegetarian and alcohol-free meal. Rest assured.
