Initial room feeling was wow. You walk in and feel super special
I had a View to the parking lot, so it was fine, nothing to special. Curtains are blackout which was nice
Walls are thin a bit thin. I listened to the next door room tv show
The shower was backing up water and fluctuated in temperature - so not super nice.
Bed slept amazing. Was like a cloud you sink in to and being pulled out of by your alarm.

We made a booking for buffet breakfast at Riverside sun.Wow amazing..The staff so friendly.The Manager Mr Aaron and staff were friendly and proffesional.The variety of foods.fruits and juices on the menu made it difficult to decide what to eat. Thankyou to the cheffs and all the waiters and waitresses.The coffee bar was a big yes.We really enjoyed the breakfast.The gardens are beautiful overlooking the Vaal river.

Lovely view. Breakfast had something for everyone. Great venue for conference with accommodation and conference facilities.
If looking for a fault it would be the stock of the bar and not enough staff in the evening when busy.
But all in all a great hotel.

We went to take our Mother's out for lunch as it was Mother's Day, only to find the place fully booked. But Amina made a plan to have us settled down. Not forgetting how AMAZING! her food was. Thanks for your wonderful service Amina. We'll definitely come back again!
S. S.Elegant and tranquil, with wonderful viewsof the Vaal River. The staff was amiable and very flexible. The rooms are roomy, tidy, and orderly. You get value for your money with meals. Had a great time when I was there!

Their dining area had a refreshing vibe and the set up was perfect for a relaxed casual dinner.
Their food didn't disappoint. I loved their buffet, there was so much to choose from and I love meat so it was pleasing to see I had more to choose from.
I love dessert to their two desert tables were my favourite. Pity I was full from all that meat but helped myself to some fruits and a mini dessert.
We arrived late in the evening and I couldn't wait to go experience their beautiful gardens and they didn't disappoint.
I wish I had more time and that I wasn't there for work.
Thanks to the wonderful staff from reception to the housekeeping staff for making our stay a pleasant one. And a special shout out to the dinning staff you took great care of us.
V. H.Well maintained hotel, neat, great service, efficient check in, breakfast buffet excellent and dinner buffet absolutely value for money. Child free hotel and helpful staff.Although not many activities for children, it is near Emerald Casino, where animal world and the game drive is amazing. I would rate this hotel 5 out of 5, but would like to see them implement a heated pool as the pool is really cold.

A. U.Lovely place with super helpful staff. Food is great. Family friendly too. My only gripe is that it is challenge to get to the pool and back with a stroller. You have to beg someone to open an emergency exit door and that can take up 20minutes.
On my wife's birthday, they baked a delicious cake and gave her a pleasant surprise.
I will definitely be revisiting soon.

P. S.Was there for a conference and found the facilities to be excellent. Everything was clean and well maintained. Staff was efficient and friendly. Food and beverages was ample and well presented. Grounds was relaxing, beautiful and well kept. you almost forgot that you where in Vanderbijlpark. Parking was safe and secure and there is a security guard at all times.

N. Y.It was nostalgic to visit Riverside Sun again. Safety protocols observed at every encounter which offers comfort to every traveller.
I was on a bed and breakfast rate (to give context to my concern) however when I ordered from In-Room Dining, the staff insisted that the bill be settled on the spot, even though I was staying for more than one night and it would have been convenient for me to charge everything to the room and settle upon departure.
I am an avid Jacob's coffee drinker however my colleagues were unsettled that during our conference, there were no other options such as Lattes, Cappuccinos (fancy Nancy's they are). Just some advise that these be a standing option.
The air conditioner units in the rooms are worth replacing. The inconvenience of walking to a wall unit to switch it on, off or adjust is not what the current traveller wants to be doing in these current days.
Lastly, some attention is needed in the food and beverage department. There was one waited on the floor for both breakfast sessions I had there. The labels for the buffet items were truly misleading: the "lamb curry" turned out to be beef, and the "poached kingklip" turned out to be fish fingers. The "pancakes" turned out to be rock-hard flapjacks. Whilst team cohesiveness is commendable, the ongoing banter between staff when a guest is waiting to be acknowledged and assisted by the respective officials, is somewhat undesirable.
As with all feedback, this was conveyed, verbatim, to Andrew who received it diligently and committed to rectify.
T. M.Nice location at the river, very friendly staff, good breakfast. However, beds are too small, water temperature hard to set in the shower. Amenities limited and were only given 1 bottle of water for 2 people. Poor kids menu. Pool was unusable. Otherwise, reasonable stay
Z. P.Rooms were rather small and the beds were extremely uncomfortable. Housekeeping was not able to assist with better pillows and getting additional towels was a challenge. The overall cleanliness and service was great save for the issues above.

Sorry to say the following but I am a candid critic: There's a problem with the designing of the bathroom ventilator. It is simply too noisy! I was woken several times at night as people switched on their lights and entered their bathrooms.

Breakfast was of a good quality and there were some new options every morning. The pancakes and cream were difficult to resist.
Room service is always a gamble at hotels, but the quality and portions were great. The chocolate brownie with peanut butter ice cream is a must! The kid's portions were quite large.
The dinner buffet had a great spread but I found the quality slightly disappointing. The hotel has a strict "no takeaways in rooms" policy so dinner gets very busy.
All the staff, including porters, cleaners, waiters, reception, were all very helpful always friendly.
A. P.Location was fenomenal, if you have the opportunity to choose a river side room, the sunsets are breathtaking as well as the well groomed gardens of the hotel. Really friendly staff, and very comfortable rooms! Really nice stay, I will be back!!

D. B.Room was beautiful, but if you are more than one guest in a room, you need to bring some extra toiletries and water as they only cater as if one person is staying in the room. Beds are comfortable, bathroom is spacious. Grounds surrounding the hotel is beautiful, lots of open space to have a picnic or just lay on the grass, can walk up to the Vaal river. Breakfast is good, ours was included in our room rate.
H. M.I went there for an AI Summit and the staff was friendly. The security guards' assistance was on another level and I hope they are appreciated for their hard work. I give this place 4 stars because I've been to better places. I'd give it 8/10.🔥

Y. M.The hotel has been revamped since the last time we were there, it was a pleasant surprise. Well manicured gardens, pool and fishing area. No Halaal food on site however there are people in the area who cook meals and can deliver to the hotel.

M.We were guests for about ten days. The property has a beautiful garden with bar and swimming pool. The cuisine is really excellent, the self-service is plentiful, there is a lot of variety. The staff is very helpful. The rooms are large and clean.
