Took the kids to the Carnival and they had a blast! Lot's of activities to keep the little ones occupied while we sat and watched them while enjoying our meal (a very yummy pizza!) The kids were excited to make their own pizza. I however felt the drinks menu could be better. No cocktail options or G&T my personal favorites.

One of the few places you can break away to with your kids even in poor weather. Sheltered from sun and wind. We go here quite often, and its is very well set up. I would say it is for kids between 2 and 7. older kids (max Grade 3) still enjoy it, but they get a bit big for the play area. Staff are professional and there is quite a selection of breakfasts on the menu. My own was not that well prepared this time but usually it's good value. In warmer months be there early and leave when the crowds arrive around 11am. Great spot to get the kids out of the house and enjoy a coffee while they run (safely) around.

A great place for a family outing over the weekend! They have a very big and exciting play area for children. We ordered pizzas and the service was fast and the food was delicious! Can highly recommend them.

Beautiful setting. Going early in the morning one enjoys the peace and tranquility. We sat inside. Pleasant enough. Staff are over polite and visit the table far too often. Food is nice. Not generous portions though. Had salmon for breakfast but basically was bits of salmon in my meal. Will go back.

"The kids carnival" Great family venue. Kids can play while adults can sit back and relax with drinks and eats and, and can keep an eye on their kids at the same time. Small water slippery slide, trampoline and jungle gym. Simple making it easy to choose a meal and kind on the pocket. Kids can have fun building their own pizza ( ingredients are limited to 3). Burgers are as Delicious to look at and to eat, wow when we saw it, mmmm when we ate it. I was full and satisfied. Lovely long scenic drive out there. Go there!

Never disappoints. Always great fun for our little girl. We gave been going since she was 18 months old and even more fun now at 4years old. Kids love making their own pizzas. The Slipppy slide and jumping castle today was an extra treat. Service is also always great

Had a play date at the play park for the kids and as mothers we had lunch at the cafe. Great food, just wish they had aircon, but the place is well ventilated and there was lots of outside tables. Hence still giving it five stars. The play park is the best as it is extremely educational and includes play and fun. The perfect balance.

What a gem of a place. Beautiful scenery, great food options, plenty of play areas for the kids, there's a maze as well. Word of advice if you have toddlers,take extra clothes and towels, there's a slippery slide you won't be able to keep them off🙂

While the venue is great and they have a play area for kids and cater for kids parties I really feel that they rely too much on that and how nice the setting is to get people to the Restaurant. The menu at the restaurant is way too limited, so much so that a burger sometimes ends up being your best choice. I have visited here over an extended period of time since they first opened and to be honest, the best I ever ate here was right at the very beginning when they first opened, and I feel the variety of food was much better and more interesting then. The wines have also gotten significantly more expensive. As far as service was cocerned, I really cannot complain though as from my experience that has improved. One got the impression initially that opportunities had been given to people without much experience waitering, but that is not the case anymore. It is such a pity that I am continuously disappointed here as it is the closest restaurant to where I live, and if there was quality mixed with value, there is a massive market on their doorstep. Not sure if I would be back as much as I would like that to be a viable option.

Gorgeous setting in a lovely, well manicured garden and extremely well maintained and presented estate. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly and very attentive. We had the wine tasting menu paired with matching foods. Some of the wines a little doubtful and pairings of some a little unusual, but more than made up for by the price (exceptional value for money), staff and service and three gorgeous dogs who were very high maintenance (expect to provide a lot of pats and cuddles) and spent most of our wine tasting trying their best to distract us. Beautiful place and a thoroughly lovely way to spend an afternoon. Can highly recommend, but don't drive if you can help it!

Lovely place for a family outing. One of their sections is called Carnival, perfect for 2 to 6 year olds. Trampoline, jumping Castle, large play installations, sand pits. Food wise they have burgers pizzas, fish, great cheese platters, excellent estate Sauvignon Blanc (Bertha, five star white wine), candy floss, waffles,etc. Really a worthwhile trip. Ample parking and good roads.

What a great place . The rooms are amazing 5 star . We took the family there 4 kids. They loved the playground area We loved the food and wine . The staff was so amazing. Kids room wasnt booked with breakfeast. But the lovely manager lady suprised us with a complentary gift . Didnt charge the kids for it. I really recomend it

We had my Husband's bday Party there two years ago. The Staff was exceptional helpful with all the booking and on the day of the Party they did go the Xtra Mile to make HIS day Memorable. They also gave me a Free Breakfast on My bday the Sunday. I will recommend anyone to them.

Enjoyed a peaceful summer afternoon in the garden just outside the Jonker’s Huis restaurant. Thin based pizza and a great burrata salad. Service was friendly, the food really good and the environment beautiful. They offer something for most and cater for children

We really liked the Stellenbosch winery with its nostalgic buildings and beautifully landscaped garden. We had a huge room right next to the security tower. The staff is very attentive and the room is exceptionally clean. From here you can get to the city very quickly and yet live extremely quietly next to the neighboring vineyards.

This is the best place to take your children to for the playground and the tastiest pizzas and prompt and professional service from the waiter. The whole environment is neat and a loop court in which to relax. This is our favorite place to come eat and relax.

The hotel is charming located in an old residence with thatched roofs and in the middle of a pretty garden. Only access to the rooms is not convenient, the rooms are not very comfortable and not at all soundproofed. Wake up by the morning plane which takes off from Cape Town. very bad smell in the rooms. The beds are comfortable.

Weltevreden Estate is an incredibly beautiful estate, close to Stellenbosch. The rooms are authentic, stylish, clean and tidy. The employees are extremely sweet and helpful. The breakfast and other food in the adjacent restaurant Jonkershuis 1817 was great. If we go to the Western Cape again, this will be the first accommodation we book.

Just a note for anyone with walking difficulties, the rooms on the upper floor can only be reached via a very steep wooden staircase. Otherwise just unique.
