Reviews of Regina Mundi Catholic Church
Breathtaking and inspiring!! Such history that is held within this structure and visible marks from the struggle against Apartheid. Highly suggest visiting through tour service/guide.
Very much worth going to. As an American I remember when Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama went to this church. It's world renowned! These days a small museum section with a donation QR code is probably worth wild.
It was great to spend weekend in church enjoying choral music
Certainly a lot of history but R50 per person entrance fee a bit much. Never had to pay before to visit a church.
Beautiful church. Mass was great.
Our tour guide was a great person and we learned a lot about the Soweto Uprising.
It's so beautiful, it's still well taken care of even now. Fr.Reg is just an amazing soul. I'm not a churchgoer but I'd go to that church because when you get in the yard of the church, you energy changes for the peaceful soul and spirit.
Biggest most beautiful church I have ever seen. You still see bullets that were shot in it....just amazing historical monument
This is the most popular and important place where political meetings were held during the apartheid years. There are still bullet holes on the walls as police from security branch trying to disperse political meetings and funerals then.
Underated! It's best to attend a service to experience the beauty of this place of worship.
I want to come back not for a second time but I will try and make it more offin love the place

Its a cool place n holly n gt historical moment's
Regina Mindi is a Roman Catholic church situated in Rockville Soweto. The church is famous for hosting political gatherings during the peoples struggle against apartheid. This historical church is easily accessible by public transport. There's even a municipality bus stop less than 500 meters away. In front the church there's public park (Thokoza Park) where Soweto residents relax and rewind. Archbishop Buti Tlhagale, was once the resident priest for the church.
It's not always open so it's sad that I can't take in the beauty of the place on the inside
Historical Site
I just pass by. It looks like you great place to worship
Holy place of worship. This special Sunday was lit. All Arch-Bishops and Bishops present, and the Cardinal!
It's freezing cold in the winter. Dress warmly!!!
Awesome. The youth choir was amazing👌with angelic, innocent yet mature voices.
Very significant historical background about Regina Mundi and the freedom struggle of our country in the mid 70's and beyond!
I love Regina Mundi and I don't use any transport to go there

Historical
Perhaps a little-known place but one of the focal points of Soweto. We gathered here during apartheid and here there were harsh repression. The guide was very knowledgeable and passionate
This place is full of history, it is worth visiting!! You contribute 30 rands to the church (approximately 8.00 reais) and a guide tells you what happened during apartheid. Enrichingly wonderful.
Church with an immense and intense historical context.
It is important to see and understand the intensity of the oppression of the non-white population who were persecuted for everything
dearest, my 11 year old granddaughter has learned the Hail Mary. certainly also thanks to your prayers. thanks, george
A Catholic church in Soweto. There is a painting by Regina Mundi and it has a small exhibition of photos from the Apertheid era.
Well done, keep it up.
