I highly recommend the cereal French toast it’s sweet crunchy and filling. Today I tried their chocolate cake and it was a 9/10 moist sweet and scrumptious 😊 The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxed. An awesome neighbourhood hangout

Absolutely loved this venue. A wonderful restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere, good food and fantastic customer service - there is also a small local food & goodies shop on the same premises. A true gem in the heart of Edenvale!!

A quick stop for something to drink and eat brought us here in the rain. We've been wanting to come to Red Door Cafe for quite sometime. Unfortunately for this occasion we didn't eat as the menu was rather limited for what we felt like so we just had drinks, and walked around their fantastically quirky shop with some interesting and unique gifts for birthdays or bridal showers etc. We had a few waitresses assisting us (hence forgotten their names) but all friendly and helpful with great service, as we didn't make a reservation, so walked around the shop till a table was open as they were quite full. I ordered the Lindt Hot Chocolate, and had to chuckle when it arrived with a Kit Kat and Marshmallow 🤔 slightly confused. Although it tasted good and it was hot. My mom had a Cappuccino and my sister ordered the Cortado I think. We will be back another time to try the food and cakes/desserts as it looked good when I walked inside. Very cozy place. Food and coffee was excellent and reasonably priced. Nice small fire burning in the fireplace if you are seated inside, and want to get away from the cold in winter months. Parking is a bit of an issue when it gets busy. There is a small parking area available a short walk from the shop.

First time here, my daughter and I had a lovely tea party. Beautiful looking cakes packed with flavour, will definitely come again! Edit: Popped in for a quick milkshake after school and had one of the yummiest ever. Mango (made from fresh fruit) is sublime!

I'm intrigued to know if anyone else has noticed that things have changed at our cute little Cafe in the Vale. The atmosphere is still lovely, and I cant comment on the cakes cos I usually go there for a meal, but I have to say that the standard of their food has dropped and very very average. They no longer have a paleo/keto menu rather disappointing. So my second choice was the quiche, and it was unavailable due to lack of ingredients, so I opted for a chicken burger and really it was average, probably make a better one myself at home. This is my 3rd time this year, so over given it a good shot. The last time I ordered the quinoa salad with beetroot and it was nice, not spectacular, and the time before that I also had something that left me not running back for more. I think the photos promise a whole different experience. Maybe I'm going at the wrong time and should stick to coffee and cake?

Lovely place. The vibe is really nice and on a sunny day, a table outside is perfect. Coffee is served at 60 to 65°c which seems hot but after a minut your coffee is cold so if you like hot coffee maybe request it to be hotter than the suggested temperature. Food was really good and service was pretty decent.

Lovely homely feel to Red Door. And the food (we had omelets) with friendly service. Was worth a 5 star rating. Will come back to try more. And the shop next door got really nice home made stuff for the "master chef" at home.

To think we had to travel 9000km to taste the best ever omelettes! EVER! Outstanding food and Jo and Dylan are the consummate hosts! First port of call when next back in the country for some proper wholesome food! And if you've not been there and supported this great local business, sort yourself out;-)

This is the best Café I've ever eaten at. Warm and cozy atmosphere. I ordered something that wasn't on the menu anymore but they still made it for me. The food is generous and well prepared. The cake is absolutely amazing!! Waiters are attentive, friendly and welcoming

Not 1 single vegan option... Pity. Not the most helpful waitress either. Eventually persuaded her to ask the kitchen to make avo on toast for me which was actually tasty. Lovely venue like an oasis in Edenvale. Great coffee.

We went for brunch on Sunday. The venue is a converted house with a quirky layout. They have a limited and fairly traditional brunch menu but it was substantial, reasonably priced and very tasty. We will go back as we would like to try their ordinary menu and also go for coffee and cake one afternoon.

This rustic cafe always serves good food: fresh and enticing. The menu is varied and caters for paleo diners. The coffee is great. The service is very good. Because everything is prepared fresh, there can be a fairly long wait for your order, especially when the cafe is busy. This is my Edenvale cafe of choice.

Hidden gem with a beautiful boutique style shop. Activated Charcoal and blueberry cake is a must. Staff are always friendly. Best to book a table in advance over weekends as it is quite popular over lunch time.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Johannesburg. The owner and staff are really friendly. You can go for a quick coffee with a friend ( they have really nice coffee) or take a group of people for a delicious meal... either way you win!! :D

Nice quaint little joint. If you looking for something different from Wimpy and Mugg n Bean, ect. then this is that place. Reminded me a lil of Pata Pata restaurant in Maboneng . We visited Red Door in the morning during midweek so it was rather quiet and service was quick. the cappuccino was good but rather small. I had to order two. We sat inside , oh boy does the coffee machine make a loud noise. All in all a good experience.
