I was in the area and was on the look out for those delicious butter biscuits, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked In to Desai’s and found those biscuits displayed right at the entrance. There was a variety to choose from and I was spot for choice. They are neatly packaged thereby making it convenient to transport.

On my quest to find the best sausages in and around Durban, I paid my first visit to Desai's Meats today. They are located in 88 Spearman Road, Sparks, Overport. I was there at about 10am plenty of secure parking. The store was neat and well packed with fresh and frozen goods. Now comparing apples for apples and with my past reviews. I opted for their medium spicy and mild sausages, masala and oriental. They also have a very hot and spicy sausage called Stanger, I was advised by a long time patron who was also shopping to try the two that I have choosen. I added some marinated lamb and ribs to my order. Friendly service and off I went. I had the braai coals ready 2hrs later, prepared my lunch and sat back to enjoy with a tall glass of Windhoek Draft. They braaied well. My wife tried the oriental sausage and was overall satisfied with it. The masala sausage which I had was tasty hot yet not to over powerful. I got the taste of dhania comming through the milder one which was enjoyable. The marinated lamb chops were mixed some tender and some firm, the ribs had way to much of fat on it. It was a pleasant experience. However my quest for the best sausages will still linger on. Prices are competitive. Recommend.

Beautiful variety of meat products. The best marinades ever! Freshly packed goods. So clean and neat its a pleasure shopping here. Love that they stock local eatery frozen goodies for convenience. Literally have everything I could be looking for and not forgetting the most delectable koeksisters found next door!

Quality of meat is good.Somewhat overpriced.However the lasting negative impression for me is that none of the cashiers ever wore masks even at the height of the Covid pandemic!!.And NEVER bothered to apologize when they were reminded ! Sick!

Lamb & chicken frozen kekabs are delicious. The lamb burgers are one of the best. Only downfall for me is that they don't readily have lamb mince available.
