Reviews of The Fireman's Arms
Stopped here on a food tour and we really enjoyed it!
first time being at this wonderful place, the service was top notch, great places to watch football and the atmosphere with people cheering on during a game is tremendous. wouldn’t hesitate to come here again ;)
Best Quiz nights in town. Great setting amazing staff members and delicious food.
Would definately recommend this place for People visiting cape town for the first time
Discovered a gem of a pub with a mature crowd and have never been disappointed in all my visits. If you love rugby this is the goto place
We had a fantastic afternoon and evening watching the cricket final. Great service, Warren you were fantastic! Thank you. Amazing food and a real vibe.
The long Island’s are tasty. 🤣 The service was excellent and you have three bars in one there. Everything you need in a bar in one place. It was nice.
Checked 5 coffee shops in CBD, wifi speed is below 20mbps and pathetic barista’s faces (especially when I was connecting to wifis, checking the speed and leaving without ordering anything, ahah)
Ended up in “The Fireman's Arms” restaurant — very empty in the morning, great Irish coffee, amazing atmosphere and… 86mbps/71.1mbps wifi!
Recommended 🥰
P.S. I guess, it is Irish coffe that is talking to you right now… lovely place!
Food was so good. Really enjoyed everything. Had a very good waiter as well
A traditional pub with lekker food and a really laid back vibe. Just a place to be...
Great pub - good food and perfect for watching sport
One of the oldest pub's in Cape Town. Newly revamped. Food is pricey compared to other restaurants but tasty. That is why it affected my rating. Nothing wrong with it.
The service and attentiveness is amazing. Always somebody asking if you need anything, if you ok. Food is tasty and well presented. Portion sizes are perfect. Hubby had the liver( which he does not get at home) and I had a dish of the day, Kassler chops. Will be back.
Flavourful, generous full Stoker pizza and succulent ribs made for a hearty, satisfying lunch. Sadly, no On Tap draught of any variety today. Hope they stock up before the weekends rugby! Bottled beer ice cold on a hot afternoon. Unobtrusive yet attentive waitrons. A good time was had by all!
A riot of fun! A definite must go especially on quiz night!
Love the fact that its an old place with character, but they could do more to make the most of this. The area outside also needs another security guard or two as walking here after a certain time is inadvisable closer to the place. Also it should consider ensuring staff know whether beers are vegetarian or not (isinglass or not) which would elevate it to a better category of pub.
Great place for pub food/drink and friendly staff. Food good too.
Very well run pub ,classy with big screens and great service......
Really enjoy a visit here. Staff are amazing and really looked after us. Kids enjoyed milkshakes and desserts.
What a wonderful little pub in Down Town Cape Town. Definitely make a stop here.
The only thing you need to know is that you enter into the small smoking area bar. Proceed to the non smoking bar. Very cool place. Benches have cushions, really comfortable! Great pizza. The night I went it was cool and they had a real wood fire going, nice touch. I would recommend. Somehow it was different and better than a usual pub. I would definitely return.
Vibey. Seven of us booked. Also wheelchair friendly. They have an excellent Sunday roast for R175. Waitrons very good. Unfortunately the pizza arrived very late. All round an excellent afternoon watching Formula 1. However did have a massive headache 😫 from the noise of the racing.
Oh, food classics made with perfection. The food is REALLY good and the service is fantastic! Thank you for the great evening!
An absolute legend and a must visit when visiting Cape Town.
Vibrant and fun atmosphere as well as deeelish food served by attentive staff. Rain or shine always to be enjoyed.
Great place to watch sport.
They have a nice selection of food and it's all very tasty.
Enjoyed a few drinks with good company.
Probably the best trivia night in town. Really fun and diverse questions. Not to mention the food and drink. My favorite fish fry spot by a long shot. Centrally located and good for big parties as well. The whole menu is popular and is definitely worth exploring.
This was my Dad's favourite water hole back in the 60's. He used to pop in for a beer and my brother and I had to wait in the car. He'd buy us a bottle of cooldrink and a packet of chips each to keep us happy. Those were the days! I love the place! Food's good too!
We arrived there just after the sunset. The place looked very unassuming. I expected the typical pub setup which is what we got as we walked in the door.
But this felt different. The vibe was different. This place felt like the English pubs I visited while in the UK.
The entrance is typical pub. But as you venture through to the rest of the pub. You come to a large indoor/outdoor seating area. Multiple large screens showing sport's. And a friendly welcome from the staff. Everything was amazing. Their food is also on point. It rivals some restaurants by far. And pricing is far.
But ine thing stood out. This is a sport's bar. When the games kicked off. This place spru ge to life and the atmosphere is electric.
I have already planned my next visit and rather excited.
Great spot. Pub vibe and the palce is jam packed on sport events. Live viewing on loads of televisions screens. A view no matter where you are seated. Good choice of food on the menu. Well prepared and great tasting. Amazing selection of beer on tap at reasonable prices. All in all a great spot with an excellent vibe. Definately worth a visit.
The best seafood pizza I've ever had in my life, damn! Appreciated the service from Anton and Ruan a ton. Thanks guys!
Large and diverse menu of both food and drink which is premium but reasonably well priced.
Great pub quiz nights.
Also parking is ample which is a rarity in the CBD.
The beef ribs are surprisingly amazing.
Toilet facilities could be much better.
Always enjoying coming to Fireman’s to watch the sporting events with my friends. Waiters and staff/owner are very friendly 😎.
The Fireman's Arms is a fantastic bar, that has an incredible selection of alcoholic beverages and their meals are pretty fantastic, too!
The area is always clean, with massive TV's to view all the sports you'd need. The atmosphere if buzzing, with some great decor.
I love it here!
Excellent sports bar with a good choice of draught beer. Great place to watch the game. Food was great
A surprisingly well run, vibrant, constantly evolving 'pub." ( it's more than that) Good service - always good in Cape Town, and a variety of quiz nights, comedy etc- however there are other seating arrangements if you want a quieter evening.
Best pub in Cape Town hands down! And has been the best place to watch any live sports (rugby, soccer, cricket) for years. Beer and food is on the expensive side (by local standards) but credit to the owners for re-investing in new flat screens and sound system etc.
Excellent Service! We were a large group and they managed to bring all our food and drinks without any delays. We all had a blast and would definitely recommend this place.
Service is outstanding, bar food is great, atmosphere is fun.
This is one brilliant place I really loved it.. definitely going again
For a range of beers on tap, amazing food and a great atmosphere, this certainly is one of Cape Town's must see venues. It's one of the oldest pubs in town (I believe seconded by Perseverance) and is the number 1 spot for any sporting event, multiple area's to enjoy your favorite team in HD audio and video. Be sure to ask for an El Diablo if you have the guts.
Always good for soccer! Great for rugby if the boks or super rugby is on. Awesome beer and some of the best pub grub in Cape Town (especially the pizza).
Well packed, good food
Best pub in Cape Town to watch a rugby match. Spicy dishes are pleasantly hot.
A local institution for pub food and drinks. Great pizzas and some traditional stews that are so comforting. Lots of TVs if you want to watch sports.
This is a really nice pub with a nice atmosphere and is one of the oldest pubs in Cape Town, but there isn't much parking available and the crowd just felt very cliquey to me.
Very nice place with an old smoky bar type vibe... The smell of delicious food hits you from the moment you walk in with attentive and fantastic wait staff
Very good pub food.
Great atmosphere for the rugby, can see a TV from no matter where you sit. Food was good and staff good under huge pressure
Nice beer selection. Good food. Friendly staff. Historic pub in Cape Town not to miss.
We loved watching the Netherlands games here! Plenty of screens and good beers.
The best pub in town. The food and service is always excellent.
near Waterkant and the CBD. The place is bigger than you may expect from the outside and serves value for money food of good quality, served by very friendly staff.
Had some great times here watching sport. One of very few pubs that that propper old pub feel.
Likely one of the world's best pubs! Excellent food, excellent staff - proper English sports pub.
What fun! Brilliant beers on tap, really good food, cheerful service. Highly recommended.
Oldest pub in Cape Town renovated. Nice atmosphere ... the ideal place to have a drink while waiting for the rush hour traffic to subside
Their burgers look AMAZING, great service, lovely wine list. My new local!
One of Cape Towns friendliest and oldest pubs. Great pizza's and good venue to watch sport.
One of the best pubs in Cape Town, great service, huge selection of beers and top notch grub.
Great service ans presentation of food which was delious had a fun time
Unprecedented location, a real pub with a very extensive beer range. Important sporting events can be followed on super screens both indoors and outdoors. Friendly staff and excellent service.
One of the nicest beer bars in Cape Town. Delicious food and a nice selection of African and international beers. Worth it for a relaxing evening.
Very cozy and delicious draft beer. The food tastes very good and is plentiful.
Delicious food and good beer (tapped) at reasonable prices👍
Always a good place to go in Cape Town! Very good!
Watched football ⚽ Bundesliga and ate a very good pizza 🍕
Worth the visit! Firefighter decorations from around the world.
