Reviews of FNB Greenpoint
If you bank with FNB, you can renew your passport and obtain your ID at this branch instead of going to home affairs. FNB staff are helpful and friendly. It's unfortunate that the bank gets poor reviews because they house department of home affairs staff too. It's easier to park at Cape Quarter. I've learnt that home affairs officials take lunch between 12:00 and 13:00 so don't do collections then. If you're struggling for weeks to get an appointment on the home affairs website they apparently take walk-ins too. Trying to get an appointment is better though and it's definitely faster than going directly to home affairs.
Fulfilled my application for passport within 10 minutes and collected same 7 days later within 2 minutes. Best FNB/Home affairs branch!
After reading the reviews I was expecting the worst. My appointment was at 2pm today to get a Passport renewed and a Smart ID. There is no parking in the building but plenty outside in Bree street. We arrived 30 minutes early and after 15 mins were called up to the desk-the whole process of photos and fingerprints took about 20 mins. The staff were very friendly and receptive-a great experience all round
Had an appointment for my passport and I can’t believe the amazing service. Took me literally less than five minutes.
I am really impressed.
Excellent service for capturing fingerprints and photo for my ID application. I was 15 minutes early and I was attended to. I was done in under 10 minutes. Staff were also helpful and efficient.
Home affairs appointment for passport renewal. Applied online so usual challenges. Eventually done and decided to use FNB Portside. I CHALLENGE anybody to step forward and tell me they were served quicker. Appointment at 13.00. Arrived at 13.00. (caveat, I arrived earlier during the Dept of Home Affairs lunch and left my ID with them and then went for coffee) About 6 people in waiting area. Waited two minutes and name was called. Thumbprint, photo and signatures taken. Walked out at 13.05! I still can't believe it. BRILLIANT! I know I was lucky but sink me sideways with a harpoon. Awesome, brilliant, fantastic! But wait.....like a verimark ad, there's more! Super friendly staff and I can't thank them enough. A simply WOW experience. Applause all round 👏👏👌
We applied for our son's 1st ID document online via DHA and booked an appointment for 13:00 via the online portal.
We arrived a bit early and was informed on the procedure to follow.
At 13:05 we were called and we were all done at at 13:20.
A very pleasant and smooth experience.
Hi, I would like to compliment Judee, she assisted me today with my passport application. I’m not from Cape Town so processes and locations are intimidating. Judee was just so warm and kind, sat with me and helped me with each step - so grateful for her patience and kindness. She’s a gem, please promote her :)
Some insights for those in need of an ID:
1. You must be a FNB client
2. Make a priority booking online (use eDHA portal)
3. You might stand in a queue outside the FNB branch for a while
4. Someone checks if you are on the list and once seats are available, you move to inside of the branch
5. The wait inside depends on a) systems being online and b) terminals available (there are 3)
Prepare for a wait, but a much more seamless excercise than any DHA branch.
Remember snacks and good luck!
Was such a smooth experience getting my passport biometeics done here. Clean and neat facilities AND NO QUEUE!
Note that this branch has moved. Google Dept of Home Affairs for FNB customers. They are situated in Somerset Road (47 M61, Green Point).
My appointment btw 9-10 am ..put by 10.30.
Polite and helpful staff even though the system malfunction they kept their cool and professionalism...well done ✔
I was at FNB green and I meet Cindy to help and her assistant was very very Excellent.Thank you for your Service Cyindy.
Friendly and helpful staff. Home affairs function works very well too.
I need the new contact details for FNB. The numbers on the site does not work anymore?
