Reviews of Mochi Mochi
Really exciting choice for a very different kind of meal. The food was fantastic. Presentation was outstanding! The service was good (well informed on GF options)!
The restaurant was empty (late lunch) when we were there so it’s hard to comment on the atmosphere - but I’m sure that the excitement around the food will ensure a good atmosphere when it’s busy.
The ultimate test for me is whether I would return for a second meal? Quick yes to that! Go try this place … pretty sure you’ll enjoy it!
Feels like a bit of Tokyo, right here in ct. Clean well designed, Instagram friendly restaurant.
After eating a lot for lunch, all I could manage was the Japanese cheesecake and mochi with macha iced tea. Everything I tasted was just ideal, takes you back to japan in an instant. I will definitely go back here to try more of the menu.
I went there with some friends for dessert. We got our orders to go and the staffs were very friendly.
The whole place was well-decorated and cute. Everything was on theme and the atmosphere and vibes were definitely up there.
Their Matcha Lemonade was quite sour and it went well with their sweet treats but can be a bit overwhelming on its own.
Their mochi were well-made and the textures are great. They were light and sweet and the mochi ice cream was really good.
The prices are a bit high but it's a great place for drinks and treats.
The mochi here is so so good, they have a large variety of interesting flavours and it’s super fresh and yum. The matcha latte here was very good, would have just liked if my matcha arrived with my partners matcha, I got mine and by the time his arrived I was finished. The melon pan is really good, not too sweet. The bun with red bean paste and mochi inside was my least favourite, but only because I don’t like red bean paste. The egg mayo was interesting and good savoury option, its very rich. The wagyu stuffed bun almost taste like a burger and was really interesting. They also sell cool Japanese chopsticks, matcha, preserves etc
Whilst this is a cute spot, my experience here was up and down. I enjoyed the Japanese Cheesecake without the sauce. The nicer Mochi flavours are sold out if you don't make your way earlier. The dark chocolate one we tried was okay... But the sesame one did not leave a good taste in my mouth. We enjoyed the cheese bun but not the red bean one. However, the prices are quite high. Our waitress was kind and helpful but the lady who took our order was a bit abrupt and rude. I was really excited to try this place but unfortunately I left feeling disappointed.
A fabulous food experience. Not the cheapest and small portions but a feast for the senses for sure.
The menu items have traditional names which are fun to try and pronounce. Not wheel chair friendly and very small space but well definitely be back.
Love the mochi options! Also a big fan of their matcha. I’d suggest always asking for the syrup on the side as opposed to being already added - made that mistake once but it’s not a big deal, just wouldn’t have made it as sweet.
The staff is friendly and service is efficient. The vibe of the store is really great too, and it can sometimes get a bit full some days but never ridiculous wait times :)
I didn't expect this place to be good. I thought it would be an average themed restaurant where the food doesn't taste good or below average, but it actually exceeded my expectations.
The matcha lemonde was good because it wasn't too bitter or too sour and it's taste was perfectly balanced.
The Tamago sando was perfect with the egg's fluffiness and the coffee melon pan was baked perfectly too.
I hope this place will still be open when I come back again next year because when I come back, I would love to try the mochis.
Much more than small sweet things, lots of savoury dishes like steamed buns, hotdogs and wagyu sandos. Great little Japanese cafe.
Such friendly staff, quick service, great dairy free recommendations and just a cute place to try unique food!
Grabbed take away mochi truffles for dinner party dessert and they had a wide variety of flavors. The mochi outside was a bit dense for my taste but everyone seemed to enjoy them. They appeared to be made regularly so was quite fresh.
Their mochi is full of flavour. They have vegan options and vegetarian friendly.
Even their drinks are packed with flavour
I freaking LOVE Mochi Mochi. In fact, I love them so much I have Mochi Mochi merch so I can spread the good vibes around.
Firstly, this spot is definitely adult and kid friendly. They have amazing fresh Mochi that I always make time for.
Secondly, their drinks are great. I love Matcha and I love that I can get a warm oat-milk matcha latte to just ground me. They also do an excellent pour over coffee that I can highly recommend.
Besides the Matcha ice cream, incredible stash, their hot dogs are also fantastic! Great snap to the dog itself and the flavours are very umami.
This was recommended to me by a friend
While this is a unique Japanese themed dessert bar - which had me excited to try - sadly it was a little disappointing
They are not as sweet as I was expecting
The mochi are made from rice and are filled with a range of fillings
The Turkish delight and toffee coffee ones were tasty
The Japanese cheesecake with miso caramel sauce was spectacular 💫
Loved it! Great food, quaint atmosphere! The matcha was authentic
Mochi Mochi in Cape Town offers a fantastic experience with a welcoming atmosphere, vibrant decor, and an impressive selection of delicious mochi flavors. The service is excellent, making it a must-visit spot for both mochi enthusiasts and first-timers.
Amazing food, everything tasted great and looked amazing can't wait to try the rest of the menu, staff was very helpful and friendly
My favourite restaurant in Cape Town. Creative and delicious flavors of mochi and Mochi ice cream. Beautiful establishment and friendly helpful staff. Never disappoints ❤️ the slow drip coffee is amazing. A must go to if you are in Cape Town.
Mochi Mochi by Torii 🍡. A bucket list destination for the enthusiast of all things Anime/Japanese. They have a variety of different desserts and a few interesting savory dishes at a not too pricey amount. The store itself is very Instagram worthee and the staff are all very kind and welcoming. ☺️ Can't wait to come back and try the oh so Fluffy Japanese cheesecakes.🍮
Really great place with friendly staff. This Japanese dessert restaurant felt very authentic and the food was amazing. Would definitely go again!
Because I'm a family of multi ages the younger ones didn't enjoy it much but my teens loved the chic vibe and lady boba tea/iced hot choc!
10/10 experience! The food was delicious and the service was fast and the staff were always smiling. The cafe does need some more air conditioning. But other than that the merch is so cute. Definitely recommend! My dad is a star for bringing me here.
Such a great place. So beautiful. Vibe is great design is amazing and customer service was awesome. Food is yummy
Love this space - feels like a safe retreat from the bustle of the city. Always a gem to introduce to people - staff and food are incredible
This is my favourite dessert place. The best mochis in South Africa! Whenever I am in town, I stop by!
Such delicious little bites and bits. For the sweet tooth or savory. Cute decor and friendly people.
I love this place! 🥰
It’s the cutest! If you want an aesthetic place to take pictures and eat japanese goodies - here you go!
Mochi mochi is a one-of-a-kind shop in the truest sense: you won’t find their fresh confectioneries anywhere else in CT! It’s always a a treat to visit this shop.
AMAZING, the food was exceptional, especially their mochi chocolate chip cookie and the service was phenomenal 10/10
Yummy coffee. Very friendly staff definitely worth going to check it out.
If you are looking for something new and completely mind-blowing to try to visit Mochi Mochi. Recommend the milk tart mochi
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. There is so much interesting and different food that it's difficult to choose. I'd suggest just getting one of everything 😆 Soft, chewy, delicious!
The ice cream mochi I ordered was delicious and decently priced compared to some of the other menu items. They've also moved stores and are now situated inside of Tjing Tjing.
Adorable little cafè with a wonderful staff and great food!
What a fun establishment with excellent and interesting food offering. Chicken Katsu Sando the best sandwich I have EVER had! The Mochi’s a perfect sweet treat. A must visit - and kids love it, and you can take your dog!!
Delicious food. It was my first time visiting on Friday and overall, the food was so yummy and the service was friendly and welcoming. LOVED the cheescake and will definitely be back to try some other items on the menu!
The beeeest mochi. Perfect size and not at all stingy on the filling. The cookies and cream, molten toffee coffee, and 70% choc are my top 3.
Interesting experience
Like the atmosphere
Delicious food and treats.
yummi food it tasted really good😋 really recomend going there addition to the anime pics thats there , THERES A SCARAMOCHI PIC
Such lovely matcha mochi & Japanese cheesecake! I love the vibe and space and decor :)
The closest you're going to get to an authentic Japanese café while in South Africa. Reasonable prices, a wide variety of flavours on the menu, and friendly staff make this a must-visit!
Really enjoyed the atsui dog and the Japanese cheesecake. Would not recommend visiting this place on a Saturday as it was really busy, and the store is quite small which means you either don't get a seat (which was the case for most people) or you'll find yourself seated, cramped and uncomfortable. What disappointed me most was the service, I had heard such great things and perhaps expected too much. I did not receive any eating utensil with my order and when I asked for help, the server seemed so irritated. It tainted the entire experience, which is a shame since I enjoyed the food so much. I won't visit them again, but still recommend it because, as I said, the food was really nice.
This unique cafe is a great place to visit with friends.
It’s very unique, there’s a lot of interesting choices for foods native to Japan. I’m not a Weeaboo or an Otaku so to speak. So I’m not obsessed like those Anime loving, unshowered degenerates. But, the food was tasty. I’m not sure I enjoy the rice flower delicacies as much as others, still I find it well run and had a great experience.
A lovely experience. A little pricey but enjoyed it.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Food great.
Japanese cheesecake a winner.
These guys do not miss!! First Tjing Tjing now Mochi Mochi, it's the best place to get well priced delicious Japanese food and treats. Couple with just the most inviting atmosphere I cannot recommend it enough.
This place is so cute and it gives me good vibes. Delicious desserts. I really liked everything about this place. I will definitely come back. All the staff are super nice. I have to bring my parents here, I think they will enjoy it as much as I did.
They have the best food ever!!! The people there are so sweet and efficient. Definitely a 5 star experience! Very welcoming place (:
After a month in Cape Town I’ve visited a lot of coffee shops and this one (they have one on Kloof Street too) is my favorite. The coffee is amazing and the staff are lovely - remembering your order after one visit, and they are quick. They offer alternative milk options too (almond and soy) and a simple but great food menu. Will miss my daily coffee from here!
Amazing staff and friendly service. Will definitely be going there again
I loved it. The whole aesthetic and atmosphere of the shop was great. The food was amazing too, my favourite being the sticky Miso Bun, but you have to try the Mochi as well. Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.
I liked there mochi and their bubble tea! Cute interior, maybe call and ask if hey are busy because there might be a queue to get in at certain times
Excellent, friendly, service and unbelievably delicious and authentic Japanese confections and savouries. Highly recommended.
Awesome place to be and best cheese cake ever!
What an incredible little treasure trove in the heart of Cape Town. The mochi was delicious! My favorite was the cherry bomb cheesecake mochi and the macha mochi. I can definitely recommend this place if you're looking for something tasty on a day out.
This place has an amazing vibe, the decor is on point and the staff are all super friendly. I really appreciated their plating and the food was bomb af. 10/10 would go back!
As someone who has enjoyed mochi/ice cream mochi and many other Japanese sweet treats before, the experience here was really authentic and lovely!
So happy to know I can enjoy all of this so close to home.
Great unique and fun food experience.
I took my daughter to Mochi and she was excited to see the place. There was just a little option to select what she really wanted.
Lovely. The service was amazing, very friendly. The weeb side of me really enjoyed the experience.
The food is really good . Their cheesecake just melts away in your mouth .
Best coffee and staff in Cape Town. You cannot dare to walk past without stopping for a scrumptious pastry
Really good matcha! Mochi donut was super good too.
Step into a different world
Interesting desserts and things to try.
SIMPLY DELICIOUS :) You've gotta try this place!
Great service and food
Good service the friendliest manager
Love it
Great and tasty
Great coffee
As the name suggests, you can taste various flavors of mochi and bread in a cute space.
The employees’ colorful hair colors were impressive.
Bite-sized mochi is delicious and small in size, making it a great gift.
It's a pity that I couldn't buy it because the day I came back was a holiday.
I loved! The place is cute, the service is great and the coffee and food are delicious. It's worth knowing!
Something very luxurious, a practical session with the most wonderful and aesthetic service, the food with the most beautiful Japanese coffee and Japanese products from Anki Libraries, one of the important things to try in Cape Town.
Best mitarashi Dango outside Japan 🍡
