Bosch Car Service is an international workshop concept for maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and provider of motor vehicle services. There are around 12,000 Bosch Car Service operations in 150 countries worldwide. In addition to the gradually increasing traffic chaos, the automobile boom at the beginning of the 1920s also had other effects. The majority of drivers had little idea about how to install or replace automotive accessories in their cars. Robert Bosch stepped into this gap in the market in 1921 by founding a customer service - the Bosch service and opening the first "installation and repair workshop of Robert Bosch AG" in the Hamburg car dealership, the company Max Eisenmann & Co. The name "Bosch Service” and its own trademark, the “Bosch Service Lantern”, were registered five years later. The first Bosch services initially had the task of retrofitting and maintaining Bosch products such as magnetos, starter motors or batteries in the vehicles. At that time there were 20 Bosch services in Germany, which had been set up at the most important transport hubs, according to a Bosch internal report from 1926.
